For nearly one hundred years following the outbreak of H1W1, the women of the world have spent their time on their knees desperately catering to the sexual desires of men, in hopes of staving off the coma for just one more day. With all the birth control being taken, it took everyone some time to even notice the virus had evolved and taken away their ability to reproduce. Despite the world having more sex than ever before, birth rates began plummeting at an alarming rate.
This pushed science into strange directions to fight the doomsday virus. Their research managed to cure nearly all human ailments; save for the one. They figured out new and creative ways to increase semen production, reduce refactory periods, and ensure that women ingested as much life-saving cum as possible; but they could only fight the mind numbing effects.
Threatened with extinction, an artificial womb was created with the intention of cloning any existing humans, downloading the memories of their previous life into the new body, then letting them continue living as though nothing happened, even after death. This raised many existential questions about the nature of life, but it was decided that while the body itself may be impermanent, the soul exists in a fourth dimensional space without life or death, where time has no meaning.
Basically, even though the same soul could live more than once simultaneously, it was the exact same soul bonded to the same DNA. It was discovered that even identical twins shared the same metaphysical soul, with differences in personalities being attributed to subconscious knowledge of the collected experiences from their counterpart. Environmental factors may change the way you act in a second life, but the soul is always the same.
For men, this effectively meant immortality, only needing to remember to update their saved memory backup regularly in case of accidental death and they'd be back later; once the new clone has finished living through an abridged, virtual reality version of their entire life, while maturing in a vat of artificial amniotic fluid.
For women, now living out their lives as miserable playthings for men, this did very little. It was hoped that recreating their bodies from scratch and quarantining the new clone from the virus would keep it from spreading, but the damage had been done to the DNA itself. Faced with an immortal existence as a living cum dumpster, the ladies always tended to forget to pay their duplication insurance far more often than men, though some would duplicate after the original fell into a coma.
Over the years the population of men stayed roughly the same, with only a few voluntary exits when they became bored of living, but the number of women continued to drop, aided by the increasingly severe effects of the virus. The men decided something had to be done. It seemed immoral to create clones of the women to keep them going against their will, but dwindling numbers of female faces to fuck demanded action.
What started as an experiment to use old traces of untainted DNA from celebrity memorabilia to create cloned women without the infection, slowly turned into a custom made-to-order female "companion" creator, when it was declared useless in evading the virus. The cloned famous ladies would be H1W1 negative during the long 18 years of maturing in their artificial womb, but would become infected at the slightest contact with the outside world.
This meant it was still advantageous to use pre-virus DNA for clones, since the effects hit at puberty, giving them an extra few precious years before the coma takes them. As it was seen as cruel to bring a child into their destroyed, sex-crazed world, the new clones spend the first 18 years of their life in a simulated reality living out a normal family life, blissfully ignorant of the horrors of reality. That is, until they are abruptly pulled out on the very day they reach legal age and are quickly given over to the man who paid the lab for their creation, so many years ago.
Strict laws and rights now apply to women, though often treating them like second class citizens, but keeping them from being so violently used for sexual gratification in the streets; so long as they wear the collar that denotes they are owned, and therefore off limits. The collar functions as an ID card, with technology to prevent forgery and a few other functions for the benefit of their master. The exemption from free-use makes even the natural born faux immortal women want one of their own, quickly replacing the wedding ring culturally.
The year is 2121 and a new clone is ready for life outside the artificial womb in which they were matured. Are they an immortal man, returning from death to reconnect with the life he briefly left behind? Or are they a cloned female celebrity, forced into another cycle of life in free-use hell? Or perhaps someone completely different....
