As she finished examining herself in the mirror, she took a moment to reflect on how silly she was being. Yes, she wasn't looking forward to her presentation, but it's not like anyone was going to get a glimpse of her skin or anything! Her main concern was the other people in her English class. Her teacher, Mrs. Sylvia, was an old-fashioned woman in her late 60s. Mrs. Sylvia was a no-nonsense type, and didn't believe in coddling her students. She often showed impatience with Alice's shyness and thought the best way to overcome things was facing them head-on instead of hiding from them.
In addition to Mrs. Sylvia, there was also her fellow classmates. While Alice wasn't the type to make enemies, she did attract a certain number of bullies who loved to torment her. It just so happened that all of her major bullies were in Mrs. Sylvia's class with her!
First, there was Rachel. Rachel was the head cheerleader, and most popular girl in school. She was beautiful, confident, and cruel. Alice had always suspected that Rachel's cruelty to her stemmed from jealousy at the amount of attention the boys tended to pay to Alice's trim, shapely body, but she'd never say so out loud.
Along with Rachel, was of course, Brady. Brady was the Quarterback for the school football team, and had a history of "conquering" the girls in school. It was rumored that he had a particularly nasty habit of coercing the girls to do things that they didn't want to do.
Chloe was a towering girl, and had muscle to spare. She had a gang of females who followed her, and they loved to push around the weakest and most vulnerable in the school. Tormenting Alice had become a regular pastime for Chloe and her gang.
Lastly, there was Devon. Devon was a loner with severe anger issues, who spent most of his time seething in a corner by himself. He had formed somewhat of an obsession with Alice, however, and was always making creepy comments, and inappropriate advances on her, growing more angry with every rejection.
Alice sighed as she thought about the day ahead of her. "You can do this.", She thought. "Be strong! It probably won't be as bad as you think, and it'll be over before you know it!"
