Introduction
The Reverend Adam Surelight drove down the Iowa highway about half-way through with his journey to Kansas City. It was the Friday before Labor Day and he was on his way to pick up his sister, Amy, whose husband had just run off with another woman. Amy had called and had ask if she could spend some time with Adam and his three daughters in his small Iowa town and Adam immediately volunteered to drive down to Kansas City for her. The Reverend Surelight watched the farms go by as he traveled over the rolling hills south of Des Moines. He enjoyed traveling on the state roads rather than the Interstate; the slower pace allowed him time to think and to appreciate his life.
The Reverend Adam Surelight was senior pastor at a medium sized congregation in Clear Lake, Iowa. He was a healthy 40 and was at the peak of his life. He had built up his church over the past 12 years into a thriving community. Last year the elders voted to hire a Junior Pastor to assist the Reverend Surelight in his work. Their home town had a population of just fewer than 3000 good people; it was a wonderful place to raise a family. So much of the credit for his success was due to his wife, Lori; but Lori had died suddenly in an auto accident three years ago leaving him the responsibility of raising their triplet daughters.
Esther, Judith, and Ruth had turned 18 the week before and would begin their Senior Year at Clear Lake High next week. They all had their mother’s flaming red hair, fair, creamy skin, occasional freckles, athletic ability, and an out-going personality. From Adam they had inherited intelligence and stubborn determination. The young women were blessed with beauty and wit; their firm breasts and rounded curves turned many heads; but, the Reverend Surelight knew that they were good girls. He expected a firm moral life from his congregation and his family, just as he preached and practiced. He was completely comfortable leaving the girls alone for a couple of days.
The girls were identical triplets, yet they were not carbon copies. Although they were closer than most sisters and shared every secret, they strived to develop individual personalities. They had not dressed alike since Second Grade and their pursuits and friends were generally different. Although the Reverend Surelight thinks he knows his daughters, they have secrets of which he is unaware.
Ruth is the most serious and studious of the three girls. A straight-A student, she usually wears her long red-hair in a pony tail or braids. A gifted athlete, Ruth was selected to be the captain of this year’s volleyball team. Ruth has dated occasionally, but has never had a steady guy not has she ever had sex.
Esther is easily the most out-going of the girls. Blessed with a sweet voice, she has had the lead in two school musicals and is usually the soloist in the church choir. She keeps her red-hair cut shoulder length and styled in a wavy curl. Esther has been dating Gene, a classmate at Clear Lake High for almost a year. Although she is still a virgin (she plans to be a virgin bride) she and Gene have enjoyed each other’s pleasures and Esther has really come to look forward to oral sex.
Judith is the rebel in the family. Although she is the brightest, school bores her and she pulls down solid B’s by doing the minimum. Her red-hair is cut short and is frosted. When she plays with her band, she often spikes her hair as well. Her father would die if he ever found out that Judith has pierced both of her nipples and that she has a small tattoo on her firm, flat butt. The tattoo is a grinning devil with a pitchfork. Judith plays the drums in a local band and enjoys hanging out with the kids her father does approve of. She has been sexually active for three years and has had numerous partners including all three of her bandmates.
It is almost 3:00 PM. The Reverend Surelight has found his sister’s apartment complex in an area of urban sprawl just north of Kansas City. He parks the car and walks up a flight of stairs toward his sister’s apartment carrying his overnight bag.
