As a rule, teachers can have kids on social media, but aren't typically "supposed" to talk to them outside of classes. Being a substitute, I just shrugged it off, figuring that what people didn't know wouldn't hurt them. And, although I would not talk to kids regularly, on occasion, someone would message me, and we'd have a pretty nice conversation (always appropriate for classrooms and nothing immoral).
Until that night Marissa messaged me, and I broke one of the biggest rules by socializing with a student outside of class.
Coming into my living room, wearing a cute top, and a nice little skirt and cute pair of shoes, I'd just smiled and said, "You didn't have to dress up for me. I thought we were going to just hang out and watch a movie. But you do know, you can't tell anyone. Because I could really get in trouble, and they might not let me come back."
Marissa smiled and just said, "Mr. D. I'm not gonna tell anyone. They might think I'm weird or kind of gross, wanting to hang out with a teacher. Even if he's as cool and righteous as you."
I just laughed, and said, "Righteous? That's funny. But thanks."
Marissa got serious for a second, and finally said, blushing, "You don't realize half the chicks in school want you, do you?"
I was blown away. I literally could not believe this cute little sixteen year old girl had just said that to me.
"Seriously? Where did you hear that from?" I said.
She laughed and finally said, "Well, not to weird you out or be kinda gross, but, well a lot of us have a list of teachers and subs that we'd do. And your name has always been on it."
I just laughed.
She looked at me and said, "I'm serious. You're one of like 6 teachers or subs that are on the we wanna do list"
I thought it was hilarious, until Marissa walked up to me, slowly, and, only being within about a foot of me (I could feel her body heat coming off her), she said, "You don't think it's true? Well, I'll tell you, it is. I'm one that put your name on that list."
I was shocked. I literally couldn't say anything for a second.
"You know that it's just not possible. You realize, even though I'm only a substitute, I could still lose my job. And I'm not sure what else could come out of it, but I know if I ever wanted to be a regular teacher, it would probably just about kill that chance, don't you?"
Marissa moved a bit closer, and I found it impossible to back up. Christ, she was so tiny, looking up at me, and so cute.
"You know that I'd never tell, don't you?" and without warning, she pushed up against me as to prove it.
I don't know why I did it. But I pulled her up against me, put my arms around her back, held her against me, and saw her open her mouth. So without saying a word, I parted my lips, and I kissed her.
It felt like it lasted forever.
I pulled back, somewhat shocked that it had just happened, and Marissa looked at me.
"Wow! That was like intense," she said.
I just stood there, stuttering, and finally said, "Oh God. That really should not have happened."
She looked at me, disappointment and shock on her face.
"What's the matter? I mean, I've only done a little bit of stuff with a few guys, but was that not okay?" she said.
"Oh Lord Marissa. It wasn't only okay, it was fantastic. Not to sound like a freak, but you are an amazing kisser. That felt incredible."
She stood there, confusion on her face, and finally said, "Then what's the matter?"
I just said, "You know I'm a teacher. You do realize how much trouble this could cause me. God. It's not that I don't like you. I like you more than you realize. But Lord, if someone ever finds out."

"Wait. You just said that you like me more than I realize? For real? You like me?" she said.
