Harassment By Margaret Jeanette Bill Powers was the office Romeo. He was constantly chasing after all of the girls. At the last staff meeting at Thome's Plastics all employees were given the new sexual harassment policy. He had had some problems with Bill in the past and gave Cynthia one hundred dollars to start the plan knowing that Bill if he had any brains at all would take it. They called Bill into Mr. Pyle's office. Mr. Pyle asked Bill if he had said the things to Cynthia that she had told him. Bill said yes and that he thought it was a compliment to her. Mr. Pyle said, "Any unwanted remarks that relate to sex that are unwelcome by the person receiving them is harassment. What you said is harassment. Here look at this stack of job applications. We can replace you in a heartbeat. But even though I have had complaints about you before I don't really want to fire you. I will give you a choice- Termination or letting Cynthia punish you in her own way. Which will it be?" Bill realizing that he had no defense that would stand a chance decided to take Cynthia's punishment. He told them he would do so. Cynthia said, "Get your things that you take home and meet me in the parking lot." He went and got his sport coat and met her. She told him to put the sport coat in his car and join her in hers. Soon she was putting small rollers in his hair then a foul-smelling lotion. Then he felt a plastic cap going over his hair. He let out a yelp as she started plucking his eyebrows. She took quite a while to get them like she wanted but soon told him they looked great. Then she turned him toward the mirror. He looked and saw all he had was a fine arched line for eyebrows. The final thing she showed him was how to outline and fill his lips so they looked their best. Then she turned him away from the mirror and had him close his eyes. He felt something being done to his eyes and wondered what else there was she could do. She told him he could open his eyes and he did. She removed the cap and started removing the rollers. She doubted he would be able to walk very easy in them as they had almost a five-inch heel. She took him to the changing room to try on the clothes. He was surprised when she went in with him. Two items didn't fit but everything else fit him pretty good. They checked out and left. Cynthia then pulled into a gas station and handed him a bag and told him to go into the rest room and change. He had to ask the attendant for the key to the rest room. When he tried the men's room it wouldn't work. Then he noticed the key was for the women's room. He resigned himself to the fact he would have to use the woman's room. When he came out he was wearing a blue dress with a lot of lace trim on the upper part. He was having a very tough time walking in the heels. The attendant whistled as he exited the gas station. He couldn't get in the car fast enough. After he was in the car Cynthia said, "You'll have to have your wife show you how to smooth your skirt when you sit down. You better have her find something to fill your bra cups also. Now, we have about twenty dollars to spend. What would you like to get yet? You have three dresses for work and two sets of undergarments. What else would you like to get?" You really should have more dresses, as you can't keep wearing just the three to work. A girl has to show off a wide variety of her wardrobe you know." He said he didn't know so they headed to another thrift shop. In there Cynthia found him three more dresses. Then she noticed a matching purse and wallet set priced at two dollars. It was red with gold trim. She would have gotten it for herself but knew he needed it worse than she did. They were headed for the checkout when she noticed some jewelry on display. She picked a gold earring, necklace and bracelet set. Then she picked two more earring sets for him. At the checkout the total came to just short of thirty dollars. She had him pay the difference from the twenty dollars she had left. When they got in the car she had him put the gold jewelry set on. She was amazed at how feminine he looked. She thought about what a good job Cathy and Marjorie had done on him. She thought about how good he looked in blue. The dejected look on his face gave her a good feeling. When she pulled into the parking lot at work Bill was relieved to see only his and one other car there. Cynthia told him to wear the same clothes he had on tomorrow and that he would wear the other clothes until she told him he could go back to his regular clothes. He was transferring the clothes to his car when Cynthia took the bag with his male clothes. She said, "You won't need these. I'll give them to you tomorrow." She led him to a medical supply store way down at the other end of the mall. She talked to the woman who came to find out what they were looking for. She told him a woman never has too many clothes. They finally got home. Bill was glad to be able to sit down and read the evening paper. He appreciated being able to take his shoes off. He finished the paper and was going to take a shower. He asked Sharon about removing the breast forms. She told him they could get wet and that they stayed on. He stood like in a trance. While all of this was going on Sharon had gotten ready for bed. She shook him out of his trance when she asked him if he was going to come to bed or stand there all night. You will feel good about yourself when you know you are stylish. Try to take it easy on people. Don't come on like you have been. Soften up and enjoy the attention I know you will be getting. He vowed to himself to stick this out and look for positive things, whatever they were. He didn't think it would be as easy as that but he knew he could weather the storm. He asked Jan if she knew why his key wouldn't work. Jan told him to try the ladies bathroom. He did and it worked. He didn't know how the keys had gotten switched but knew he always left them on his desk and that one of the girls had probably switched them. He got his cup of coffee and when he was returning to his office he noticed the nameplate on his door now read 'Cherry Powers'. He thought those girls don't waste any time. He was enjoying the cup of coffee when Mr. Pyle came in. Mr. Pyle said, "I see a name change on the door. That didn't take long." Bill said, "No, those girls can really move fast for something like that. I don't mind if that is what makes them happy. Let them think they really pulled something. I know I will get my chance to return the favor." Mr. Pyle said, "Bill, what I really came up to talk to you about is this punishment. When the harassment code went into effect it was supposed to be from scratch. In other words previous incidents were to be forgotten. I didn't do that. I remembered girls complaining about you but not formally at previous times. Thinking about what you said I could see that it can be taken either way as a compliment or as harassment. Given the code starting a new day what you did may not justify the punishment you received. Do you understand?" Bill said, "Yes, I understand. I would like to say something off the record to you. This so called punishment has had its benefits. I have had so many co-workers come and tell me they don't care what I wear they are still my friends and my wife and I have become closer than ever before. So you see even as bad as it looks this isn't all bad." Mr. Pyle said, "I am glad you are looking at it that way. I was afraid you would totally rebel and cause a lot of uproar. You are showing more maturity than I would. I am going to put a positive report in your file about this. I have to talk to Cynthia about removing the punishment." Bill said, "Please as a favor for me, don't do that. She and I have had a talk and she needs some time to think it over. She already is thinking that it was too much. I think it would be better if she comes to the conclusion herself. Let her feel good about deciding to let it drop, not being told to drop it." Mr. Pyle said he would do as Bill asked. Then Mr. Pyle asked Bill if he was going to the president's tea the night after tomorrow. Bill had forgot all about it. He asked Mr. Pyle why it was called the president's tea when tea is never served. Mr. Pyle laughed and said, "Ten years ago when it started it was decided we can't call it a drinking bash so someone suggested we call it the president's tea. Well the name stuck and it has been that ever since. The one rule is that everyone enjoys themselves. Are you going to be there?" Bill said he hadn't missed one yet and that he and his wife would be there. Mr. Pyle told him he was glad and left. Bill sat there thinking that things have a way of working out. He wondered how this was going to work out. When he got home that night he told Sharon about the president's tea. She was glad they were going as she always enjoyed them. They ate a light supper then went shopping to get him some nightgowns. She was amazed at the sexy nightgowns he picked out. She made suggestions and he would listen, then tell her why he thought a sexier one was better. She was happy that he took to shopping so well. They left the store and across the concourse of the mall was an upscale dress shop. Bill suggested they look at dresses there. In there she found two that caught her eye. She was trying them on and thinking how Bill had changed. He would never go shopping with her like this before. She liked how he had changed and wondered if she could keep him like this from now on. She finally chose one and realized it wasn't as stunning as her husbands. The whole time that she was picking out a dress Bill wondered about why he had to have that red dress. He wondered why he was feeling like he did. He asked himself if there was something wrong in wanting a dress like that when you are a man. He experienced a multitude of feelings that he never thought he would before. They got home and put the clothes away. Bill had told her all about the days' events. She was glad that he showed no animosity toward any of this. This really surprised her, as she never thought of him having any feminine inclinations before. She thought, he is someone she never knew. She wondered how she missed it. That night in bed he wore a baby doll with lots of ruffles in front of the top and ruffles galore on the panties. They made exquisite love and both were completely sated when they were done. Think of it as a growing up present. You have just graduated to a higher level. Your first pair of dangly earrings for pierced ears." She placed the earrings in his ears. They were multi-colored jewels hanging on small gold chains. They matched his necklace almost perfectly. She got a multi-colored bracelet from her jewelry box and placed it on his wrist. She said, "Cherry, the bracelet isn't a perfect match but it is close enough. You look stunning. That dress was made for you. You will have to fight off all the men there tonight. If that doesn't do it this will!" She sprayed him with her best perfume. He always went wild when he smelled it but tonight it didn't have the same effect on him. He asked why they couldn't have gone as twins. He said he thought his dress would have looked more stunning on her. She laughed and told him he had a lot to learn yet about being a woman. They left for the party with Sharon driving. They arrived at the party and Bill had flutters in his stomach. Within five minutes of arrival he was in animated conversation with four women who all wanted to know where he got his dress. None of them so much as said a word about him being a man. Soon he noticed Cynthia was standing next to him. Cynthia said, "Wow, you don't go half-way do you. That dress is to kill for. What perfume is that you are wearing? I never thought you would come here in a dress." He told her the perfume was his wife's and told her she looked ravishing herself. He said to her that it was not harassment and that he couldn't see how any red-blooded man could resist her. Then she said, "I've been thinking and I think you can wear your regular suit to work Monday." He told her, "This is not the place to talk about that. How would you like to come over to our house tomorrow afternoon for a bar-b-que and we'll be able to talk in private and at our leisure." Cynthia agreed to be there and left him to mingle with some other guests. He saw Mr. Pyle and headed toward him. When he got Mr. Pyle's attention he asked if he could talk to him in private. Mr. Pyle led him to the library, which was vacant at the time. Mr. Pyle started the conversation by saying. "I want to tell you something. If I didn't know you were a man, I would be panting after you. You look great in that dress. Now what did you want to talk about?" Bill said, "I don't know how to put this but what would happen if after the punishment is over I continued to wear a dress to work?" Mr. Pyle asked, "This isn't to show Cynthia that her punishment was no punishment at all is it?" Bill told him the thought never crossed his mind. He told him that he liked the feel of the dresses and had not even talked to his wife about continuing to wear dresses. He said he didn't know what he was going to do but just wanted to know what options might be open to him. Mr. Pyle said, "One thing I do know is that the government comes down hard on companies that discriminate based on sexual preferences. I don't think you have anything to worry about whatever you decide." Bill thanked him and then they returned to the party. He was talking to Beth when Thomas Carey, the company president came up to him. He said he wanted to talk to him. He led Bill into the library Bill had just left a short time before. Mr. Carey said, "First I want to tell you that your outfit is absolutely stunning. Evan Pyle told me all about the harassment thing. I don't believe it was harassment but that is neither here or there. Evan and I have talked about your work yesterday and this afternoon. You do an excellent job for us. Yesterday Paul Kloss told me he is retiring in two months. Stanley Burton your supervisor is not interested in the job as he intends on retiring in eighteen months. I am offering you the job if you are interested. There will of course be a raise in pay and you will gain two more weeks vacation a year. What do you say? I know these parties are not supposed to be used to discuss work but I wanted to talk to you about it anyway. I heard you wondered why it was called a tea party. I can get you some tea if you want it." Bill said, "Thank you for considering me. I have one question. What if I came to work in a dress?" Thomas Carey laughed and said, "I don't care if you come to work in a string bikini as long as you do your work. One thing though, you can't come to work wearing that dress because if the Board of Directors sees you in it they are liable to offer you my job." He was laughing so hard Bill had to laugh with him. Bill said he would take the job. Mr. Carey asked him if it was as Bill or as Cherry. Bill told him he would let him know by Tuesday next week. They rejoined the party. Bill found Sharon talking to Joe Solomon. Joe joked with him and told him he better protect his virginity in that outfit. The three of them chatted for quite a while. After Joe excused himself Sharon asked him if he was enjoying himself. He told her she wouldn't believe everything that had happened to him since they got there. He told her he invited Cynthia for a cookout tomorrow afternoon. Sharon said that sounded like fun. They parted, each headed for a different person to talk to. Finally it was time to leave. On the way home Bill told Sharon that he had to do some heavy thinking in the next two days. He told her if he didn't seem himself to please excuse him. They got home and both were tired so they headed for bed. He had wanted to tell her the good news but hesitated, and decided to wait for the most opportune time. He laid awake for about ten minutes thinking about all that had happened to him and how good everything was turning out. He wondered if it could continue. He fell asleep and slept like a newborn baby. He was sitting at he table having a bowl of cereal when Sharon came sauntering in. She poured her usual cup of coffee and sat down by him. They exchanged a good morning kiss. Bill drifted into a reflection as Sharon said, "Why can't he stay in a dress?" He shook his head and asked, "What did you say?" Sharon said, "Oh, nothing. Just thinking out loud I guess. What's on tap for today?" He said, "I would like to get a summery dress for the cook-out later today. Nothing spectacular but something pretty. I don't have any that would really be appropriate for something like that." Sharon said, "I was in Bonanza Barn the other day and they had sundresses on sale. We can go there and see if there is anything that catches your eye." They finished their breakfasts and got dressed to head for the Bonanza Barn. Once there Bill found three dresses that caught his eye. He asked Sharon which one was right for him. She told him to take all three, as all three were less than twenty dollars. That is exactly what he did. Then they looked at the shoes there and he picked a pair of white sandals with narrow straps to go with the dresses. On the way home Sharon stopped at a drug store telling him he needed to pick his own perfume. She said every girl has her own favorite scent and he should have his also. He tested close to twenty scents before deciding on white lilac. He loved how it smelled on him. Sharon was impressed that he chose that one. They stopped at a fast food place for lunch. As they were eating Sharon asked him what all the latest gossip was from work that he had heard last night. He was almost gong to tell her about his promotion but wanted it to be a real surprise. He knew it had to be when she was least expecting it. He told her about a rumor going around about one man at work whose wife was seen holding hands at a supper club with a man who wasn't her husband. When they got home Sharon said if he was going to wear a sundress he really should do something about his body hair. Before he knew he was in the tub and all of his body hair was leaving his body. He came out of the tub with skin that was as bare as a baby's behind. Sharon handed him a bottle of scented lotion to rub all over his body. It invigorated him and he found himself erect. Sharon saw it and invited him to bed. Laughing they went into the bedroom. A half hour later they were laughing over their mid-day break. It was time to get ready. He chose the green dress with the rose colored flowers printed on it. It had elastic shoulder straps trimmed on each side with a small ruffle. When he put the white sandals on Sharon told him he looked beautiful. He asked about his make-up. Sharon said just lipstick would do. She kidded him about his eyelashes that always looked like they had just been dipped in mascara. He batted them and told her she was just jealous. They laughed and holding hands went to sit on the patio to wait for Cynthia to arrive. As they were sitting there Bill asked Sharon, "Where did you put the remover for these breasts?" Sharon replied, "I didn't get any remover. When the girl asked I told her if we needed it we would be back. Why, do you want to remove them?" He answered, "Not right now but I was wondering where it was. Don't you want me to take them off sometime?" She said, "I like the new you. It is your decision as to when you want to take them off." He sat thinking that it made his decision a lot easier. Then the doorbell rang. It was Cynthia. She gave him a kiss on the cheek as she handed him a bottle of wine. Then she said, "My goodness you look ravishing in that dress. What is it, that you look good in everything I have ever seen you in." Sharon heard the remark and said, "Yes, he is one of those people who seem to make any clothes look better. I am afraid he is becoming a clothes horse though." They laughed. Bill went and got some wine glasses and a bucket of ice to chill the wine. He said it should be cool enough in about fifteen minutes. Cynthia said, "I have to talk to you and it is very important. I have spent just about this whole week thinking about what happened. Your remarks that you made I know were meant to be a compliment. But when you said them I was at a low point and I know now I took them wrong. You can wear a suit to work on Monday. I am so sorry that I put you through this. I am sorry." Bill saw her sobbing and went and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He said, "You don't have to be sorry. I always like to think things have a way to work out." "But I charged you with harassment. I probably ruined any chances you have for advancement and I put you in skirts. There can't be any good in that, is there?" Bill said, "Evan Pyle came in to see me on Thursday and told me that he didn't think I really committed harassment. He told me I could wear a suit on Friday and I told him I wanted you to come to your own conclusion. I had confidence in you that you would reach the right decision on your own rather than being forced to say maybe you were wrong." Cynthia said, "Thank you for having confidence in me. You called Mr. Pyle by his first name. I have never heard anyone call him by his first name." Bill said, "Well, you didn't wreck any chance for advancement. In fact you may have helped. The upper people were so impressed at how I took the punishment that I am going to take Paul Kloss's job starting Monday. It will mean two more weeks of vacation a year and a huge increase in pay." Sharon on hearing this news came and gave him a kiss and a big hug. Cynthia told him she was glad for him. She said he deserved it. Then he dropped the big bombshell saying, "When Tom Carey offered me the job I asked him what about if I came to work in a dress. He told me he didn't care if I came to work in a string bikini. So, I have taken everything in hand and made a decision. I am going to continue wearing dresses." Sharon knocked over her lawn chair getting up to come over to give him a big kiss and hug. When they broke the hug he saw she had tears in her eyes. He asked her why she was crying and her lips moved but no words came out. When she finally got control of her feelings she told him he just made her the happiest woman in the world. He looked at Cynthia and saw she also had tears in her eyes. Cynthia came and gave him a hug and said, "I have never known anyone like you. You have taken a heavy load off my shoulders. Before I came over here I was thinking about calling you and telling you on the phone that you could wear a suit on Monday but you have just made my day, my week, and my year! Thank you!"
