She told him that her mother didn't hand out compliments easily and he should feel proud. The next day being Saturday the rest of the belongings were moved and put away. When he asked what that was she told him it was permanent eye shadow. She said he could put any color over it if he wanted a change sometimes. He asked if this was all necessary. She told him Lydia had told her what she wanted done and Lydia was paying her so Lydia was the boss. She applied foundation and some blush to his face. Then he saw her smile and asked her what was so funny. She said, "I am not smiling because something is funny. I am smiling because you are starting to look completely different than when I started. He knew Marcie would probably leave him when she saw him or at the very least cut him off without anything. When Marcie got home Lydia told her to come into the living room that they had to talk about Kevin. Marcie thought her mother was tired of him and was going to throw them out or something. She went in and sat in a chair facing her mother. Lydia began by saying; "First off, I made arrangements to make some major changes in Kevin. He now has real domestic outfits to wear while he works. I want you to see him and not be too hard on him. He has had a very trying day. OK?" Marcie said OK and Lydia called Kevin. When he entered the room Marcie couldn't believe it was him. Where did you get it? I don't have any that nice." He replied, "Your mother got it for me. I don't know about her. Some times I hate her and other times she seems so nice. I wish she would stay one way or the other so I could handle it. This dress does feel sensuous on me. I hate to say it but it does." Marcie said, "You can impress mother if you shave your legs tonight. Do it for me if nothing else, OK?" He agreed and asked her for a kiss. They kissed and he said that kiss made things seem better that he was so afraid he was going to lose her. She kissed him again and they walked back into the house hand in hand. The next day Lydia told him to change into his royal blue uniform as she was having tea with an old friend. Kevin was apprehensive about it but did as she requested. When the woman arrived he answered the door and escorted the woman to Lydia. The woman was surprised when she saw Lydia had a maid. Lydia told her that some things just work out right. Kevin was thankful that Lydia didn't tell the woman he was a man. After the woman left Lydia told him that he looked much, much better with his legs shaved. He told her he did it for her. She felt grateful to have a son-in-law as thoughtful as he was. Three months later Marcie came home and told Kevin she had to talk to him. He always dreaded when she said that in that tone of voice. It was her dead serious tone Marcie said, "I had a doctor's appointment this afternoon. He had them do an ultrasound of my lower areas. This is a picture of what they found." She held out a picture. Kevin immediately thought the worse that they found a tumor or something. But Marcie continued saying, "You see that, that is a baby girl. And do you see that, that is a baby boy. I am about two months pregnant. You are going to be a father!" Kevin was stunned but he took Marcie in his arms and gave her a great big kiss. When they broke Marcie saw tears in Kevin's eyes. She thought he never looked so happy. She told him she wanted him there when she told her mother. Then she said she was going to wait until supper to tell her. At supper Marcie said, "I know something you don't. I know you are going to lose your maid!" Lydia asked, "And just what is he going to do?" Marcie said, "I am not sure but I know he is going to be busy quite a bit taking care of the twins." Lydia asked, "What twins?" Marcie said, "The twins I am going to have." Lydia chocked and started crying. She was so very happy. She was happy for Marcie.
