Chapter 1

Notes: This is one of the sillier stories I've written. It's meant more
for the sweet and tsundere-like atmosphere that progresses later on.

A young student stretched his arms out in front of himself as he walked
away from school, the bell having just run a minute earlier. "It's about
time the weekend got here," he said to himself as he passed by several
girls giggling together. "I can't wait to unwind for the day." As he
approached the gate of the school, the boy's face began to split with a
wide grin. "To think, in just two weeks, I'll be sixteen years old!" he
said excitedly. "It's been said countless times that the sixteenth
birthday is the best of them all, except for the twenty-first, of
course." As the boy reached the gate, he said as an afterthought, "Even
my parents seem excited about it."
Turning the corner of the steel gate, the boy suddenly collided with
something larger than himself. Falling down on his rear, he looked up to
see a young man who couldn't have been more than a couple of years older
than himself. The boy was already getting to his feet and brushing his
black hair smoothly back, away from his face, while also adjusting his
glasses. Clad in a collared shirt and jeans, the boy looked the epitome
of cool. "I'm sorry," said the black-haired boy, "I was not looking where
I was going. You see, I am in a hurry to-" Suddenly, the black-haired boy
stopped talking with a dumbstruck look upon his face as if he was seeing
something that he couldn't comprehend. Before the other boy could utter a
word, the black-haired male began speaking quickly and excitedly. "Ryan,"
he exclaimed, "is that you?"
It was now Ryan's turn to hold a dumbstruck appearance. "Who is this
guy?" he thought to himself. "How does he know my name?" Before Ryan
could get the chance, however, the other boy began talking again.
"It is you, isn't it?" he said jubilantly. "I am so happy to have this
chance to stay with you!" With that, the boy leapt forward and hugged
Ryan.
"I-uh... I think you must have the wrong person," Ryan lied. "My name
isn't Ryan." Pushing the boy off of himself, Ryan bent forward to pick up
his schoolbag that he had dropped earlier. "You must be confusing me with
someone else," he said quickly, not meeting the other boy in the eyes.
" Really" the boy asked innocently. "I could have sworn that you were
Ryan. After all, you meet his description perfectly." With that, the boy
pulled out a scrunched-up sheet of paper from his pocket and began
reading it. "Let's see," he began, "Ryan should have short, brown hair
with a slightly pale complexion, crystal-clear green eyes, a slightly
upturned nose, and a medium build." While the boy was reading out from
his list, Ryan had begun to back away slowly, wincing with each accurate
portrayal of himself.
"Well, I may look like this Ryan fellow," Ryan said loudly, "but I am
definitely not him, okay?" Inwardly, Ryan was absolutely positive that he
wanted to have nothing to do with whoever this boy was. As he tried to
make his way past the strange person, the boy grabbed Ryan by the wrist,
sending a shiver straight up his arm and all the way up his back.
The boy pulled his glasses down slightly as if to prevent any material
from obscuring his view of Ryan. "Are you absolutely sure your name isn't
Ryan?" he asked again. "You wouldn't be trying to lie to me, now would
you?" Ryan froze entirely. How could this guy see through him so easily?
Why was he so persistent on meeting with him?
" E-even if my name was Ryan," Ryan muttered, "which, well, it isn't. Why
would you be staying with me?" Ryan could have kicked himself. That was
just like admitting that he was Ryan. The black- haired boy just stared
at him for a moment before straightening up fully and peering down at
Ryan with a huge grin on his face.
"Well, if your name was Ryan," the boy said, "I'd say that I am getting
an early start on getting to know my fiance." Ryan blinked. Fiance? To a
guy? This definitely had to be a mistake. "And, if your name was Ryan,"
the boy continued, "I'd also say that... well, I need directions to your
house. I'm not very good at finding my way around just yet, you see." He
was grinning from ear to ear at this point and Ryan hated it.
"Like I said before, I'm definitely not named Ryan," Ryan said defiantly
as he tried to walk past the boy. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm needed
back home." However, before Ryan could fully make it fully past the boy,
he was grabbed by the wrist. Immediately, the mild shock that had
occurred before returned, but with ten times the force. Ryan squirmed in
an attempt to break free from the other boy's grasp but found that all of
his strength had been drained. In a last ditch effort, Ryan thrust his
hold body forward and felt himself break free. Gaining a little of his
strength back and using his current momentum as a starting point, Ryan
sprinted away from the boy and straight back to his own home.
Throwing up the front door, Ryan dashed up the stairs to his room and
locked his bedroom door. "It hurts," he said to himself as he fell on top
of his bed. "My body... what's wrong with it?" By this point, Ryan's
breath was much more ragged and slightly higher pitched. Without
noticing, his short, brown hair had fallen past his shoulders. His face
and body were covered with sweat as he thrashed on his bed. His entire
body was beginning to change shape as if being molded by some unseen
sculptor who could only form high school females. "Wha-" Ryan began and
then clasped his hands over his mouth after hearing the dramatic change
in his voice. It sounded much softer and sweeter with a higher pitch than
his usual voice. However, the changes weren't quite done. Immediately,
Ryan felt a strong burning sensation within his privates and chest. He
thrashed about on his bed hoping that the awkward feeling would leave as
soon as possible. And it did just that.
Ryan sat up on his bed, disoriented by what had just taken place.
However, no matter how confused he was, it was impossible to not notice
the two mounds protruding from underneath his shirt. Without even
bothering to check, Ryan already knew what other change had taken place.
It was clear to him at this point: he had transformed into a girl.
Moving off of his bed, Ryan felt a sudden shift in his balance and
quickly toppled over. The pain of hitting the floor brought tears to his
eyes, which he couldn't seem to stop from flowing after they started.
"What... what is this?" he asked to no one in particular with the most
helpless and delicate voice imaginable. "Ah... ah ha ha." He was
laughing. Ryan wasn't sure why he would be laughing at a time like this,
but he was. Perhaps he had just gone crazy and was imagining himself as a
female. But, before he could continue on with his denial, his door burst
open.
"Ah ha!" boomed the voice of Ryan's father. "It's about time this
happened!" Ryan, still trying to figure out how his dad had gotten
through the lock on his door, was taken aback by what his dad had just
said.
" Yo-you mean, you knew I was going to change into a girl?" Ryan asked,
wincing at the sound of his voice. Before his dad could answer, Ryan's
mother rushed into the room as well. Upon finding Ryan sitting on the
floor in a pathetic state, her eyes lit up in a way that Ryan had never
seen in his entire life: they showed a strange sense of excitement.
"You look adorable!" she screamed as she jumped up and down. "I can't
believe how well you turned out!" Before Ryan or his father could say
anything, she rushed over to Ryan's side and began to play with his hair.
"Oh, look how long and smooth this hair is," she started. "You really do
look great as a brunette."
" Wha-what is going on?" Ryan asked, flustered by his mom's reaction.
"Why am I a girl? Why are you two okay with this?" Both Ryan's mother
and father looked at each other.
"Well, ehem, son," Ryan's father began, "this goes back to to a time
shortly after your mother was determined to be pregnant. You see, I met a
very wonderful friend who shared many common interested with me.
Likewise, his wife and your mother shared quite a interests as well.
After a period of two months or so, both your mother and I agreed with
our new-found friends that our future daughter would marry their current
son." With this, Ryan's mother began tying Ryan's hair into two short
strands on either side of the main branch. In other words, twin tails.
Ignoring what his mother was doing for the time being, Ryan was taken
aback by what his father had just said. "Well, you obviously never had a
daughter," Ryan said. "But, how does this relate to me turning into a
girl?"
Ryan's father averted his eyes as he spoke. "You see," he muttered, "I
have a very unique ability. I can form a pact with one other person in my
entire lifetime. With that pact, no matter what it is, it will come
true." Ryan began to laugh. Something as absurd as this could not
possibly be true.
"That has got to be the worst explanation I have ever heard in my life,"
Ryan laughed. However, his laughter soon subsided when he caught the
looks from his mother and father.
"It's no joke, sweety," his mother said quietly. "Your father promised
that man that his daughter would be the fiance of the man's son and,
well, you were our only child."
Ryan's jaw dropped slightly. They couldn't be serious. Something like
this just didn't make sense. There's no way it could be true.
"I know this may be a little sudden to hear, but your fiance should
actually be arriving soon," Ryan's father said quickly. "In fact, he
should have been here already." Ryan's heart could have stopped. His mind
went immediately back to his encounter with the boy earlier today. "Now
that I think about it," Ryan's father thought out loud. "As of right now,
your transformation should only be triggered when you make contact with
him." With that, both Ryan's mother and father looked at him.
"I... I don't know what you're talking about," he said quickly. "I think
I need some fresh air." Ryan quickly bolted out of his bedroom and headed
down the stairs. Quickly opening the door, Ryan ran straight into
something and fell back on his rear. "That's the second time this has-"
he began and then froze. Straight in front of him was the boy from
earlier.
"I knew it was you," he said. "And this time, I'm not letting you get
away."
