Chapter 2

Notes: This chapter was a real pain. It may seem jumbled, and that's
because it is. I must have started, stopped, written, erased, and
rewritten so many times that my keyboard has become nothing more than
faceless buttons. Anyway, after this release, I'm in a better mood to
write; so, the next chapter should come out soon (and with better
consistency!).

Ryan backed away from the doorway quickly. "You!" Ryan exclaimed,
surprised. "How did you find my house?"
"I called your parents," the black-haired boy began, "they told me how to
get here." The boy looked at Ryan and sighed. "You know, it would have
been a lot easier if you had just told me how to get here yourself," the
boy said. "And why did you lie about who you were?" The boy moved through
the doorway towards Ryan.
"W-wait just a minute," Ryan stuttered. "I'm not Ryan. I'm a girl. You've
got the wrong person." With that, the black-haired boy grinned.
"Oh really?" he asked, smirking. "I'd like to disagree." The boy moved
even closer to Ryan, who was feeling very uncomfortable at this point.
"First of all, if you aren't Ryan, how did you recognize me?" the boy
asked. "Second of all, if you aren't Ryan, how did you know that I was
looking for a boy named Ryan? I never said his name." Ryan began to
sweat. He had really miscalculated how sharp this guy was. "Third and
finally," the boy said while towering over Ryan, who noticed that he had
become considerably shorter after transforming into a girl, "you are
wearing the exact same clothes that Ryan was wearing when I met him
earlier today." With this, Ryan slumped to the ground. This strange boy
had completely beaten him.
"Well look who's here!" a voice exclaimed heartily from the stairway.
Ryan turned his head in the direction of the voice to see both of his
parents standing at the bottom of the stairs. His dad walked over and
slapped the back of the black-haired boy. "It's good to see you, Blaine!"
he laughed. "I see you have already encountered your fiance!"
The boy, whose name was apparently Blaine, stole a quick glance at Ryan
before turning towards Ryan's father. "Yes, I ran into her right when she
was about to leave," he said. "Oh, and thank you for the directions. They
were very helpful."
Blaine then walked back over to Ryan, who was still sitting on the ground
at this point, and held out his hand. "What do you want now?" Ryan asked
in a rude manner. Without stopping to answer, Blaine quickly grabbed one
of Ryan's hands and hoisted him up to his feet.
"There," Blaine said. "I just wanted to help you up." Ryan mumbled a
quick thanks and took a few steps towards the open doorway.
"Hold it right there, missy!" Ryan's mom yelled in a commanding voice.
"There's no way I'm letting my daughter walk outside wearing such baggy,
male clothes!" Before Ryan could even reach the doorway, his mom had
grabbed him by the arm and began dragging him up the stairs. "We're going
to get you looking so nice!" she hummed happily. "I'm sure your fiance
will be happy to see you wearing something more feminine, too!"
"Wait a minute!" Ryan shouted. "Let me go! I don't want to wear girls'
clothes!" Ryan began to struggle in an attempt to break free from his
mother's grasp, but she seemed to have a death grip on his arm. "Oh sure
you do!" she said. "I can already tell that you don't feel comfortable in
those clothes. Your skin must be extra sensitive." It was true, too. Ryan
had felt his skin grow irritated from his clothes rubbing too much,
especially on the chest and hips. Still, he was absolutely certain that
he was not going to wear anything his mother gave him! She couldn't force
him to do something like that, could she?
Coming out of his daze, Ryan noticed that his mom was already standing at
a closet, pulling out various pieces of clothing and holding them up in
front of him. "H-hey, Mom," Ryan said quickly. "You aren't seriously
going to make me wear girl clothes, are you?" She looked at him and
smiled.
"Of course I am, silly," she said gently. "You already look adorable! I
can't wait to see you in a cute little skirt." With that, she pulled out
a white skirt with red trim and a matching blouse. "Now, let's go get you
changed into something a little nicer!" she shouted with glee. Ryan was
quickly pulled into his own room and pushed onto his bed. "Oh, wait one
second," his mom said with a dawning look on her face as she headed out
of the room. Ryan looked at the clothes she had picked out for him and
felt his heart flutter slightly. They did look cute, after all. "Here we
are!" his mom exclaimed happily as she reentered his room holding a pair
of white and orange striped panties and a matching bra. "Now, we'll need
to get you fitted properly soon, but I think this bra should be your
size." Ryan held up the underwear and gulped.

Ryan blushed heavily as he walked down the stairs. His hands continuously
tugging on the skirt that he felt was much to short to conceal his
panties. As Blaine and his father came into view, Ryan felt his face
become even redder. Why had he even let his mom change him into these
clothes? Normally, he would have refused doing something so ridiculous
immediately, but for some reason he had let himself be caught up in his
mother's pace. And why had she even had these clothes? They obviously
weren't in her size. Even though she had claimed he needed to be fitted,
the undergarments nearly a perfect fit.
"Oh ho!" Ryan's father shouted exuberantly, "Here she comes now!" Ryan
began to wonder if it was possible for him to get any redder than he was
now. "And look at those clothes!" Ryan's father said happily. "Now that's
the way my daughter should look: respectable yet adorable."
"Wha-what are you saying, Dad?!" Ryan yelled embarrassedly. "How can you
say something like that with a straight face?" To the amusement of both
Ryan's parents and Blaine, Ryan began to pout in a very adorable fashion
by folding his arms and puffing out his cheeks, a move that struck them
as incredibly girly. Ryan glanced at Blaine, who had a very warm smile on
his face, and felt his heart flutter slightly. Shaking his head to remove
the feeling, Ryan began to march once again towards the front door of the
house.
"It looks like you're ready to leave," Blaine commented as Ryan brushed
by him. "I'm surprised to see you already comfortable going outside as a
girl." It took a moment for what Blaine had said to sink in, but as soon
as it did, Ryan stopped in his tracks.
"Wha-what? You think I can't handle myself?" Ryan snapped at Blaine. "Let
me make things clear to you: I am NOT comfortable at all right now.
However, that won't stop me from going outside!" Ryan wasn't really sure
where he was going with this conversation, but he knew that he didn't
want Blaine to have any sort of satisfaction from his misfortune. Ryan
turned around and began to move towards the door once again.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to come across as belittling your
determination," Blaine apologized in a somewhat hurt manner. "I was just
trying to complement you on how well you are dealing with this situation.
It's just one of the many reasons I fell in love with you." Ryan felt his
heart beat a little faster and knew that his face was growing red once
again.
Turning around once again to face Blaine, Ryan stuck out his chest in a
prideful manner. "Well, that just shows how mature I am," he said
boastfully. "There's no way I would succumb to such petty an issue as
walking outside in front... of all of those... people...." Ryan was
starting to rethink his decision to get some fresh air by leaving the
house. After all, he was dressed in a way that he absolutely knew was
embarrassing (at least to himself). If he felt this intimidated while
standing in front of his parents and this... this boy, how would he
handle being outside in front of so many strangers? Ryan felt his knees
shake as he began to panic. "I-I can definitely handle..." he began, his
voice shaking.
Blaine quickly walked over to Ryan and caught him as Ryan's legs
collapsed from underneath. "It's alright," he whispered. "You don't have
to put this front on for me. We can take this slowly." Ryan felt his face
flush and turned his head away. He didn't want to hear this from the boy
he had just acted so rudely to a few moments ago. He was about to say so
when he felt himself shiver: Blaine had just kissed him on the cheek.
"Wha-wha-what do you think you are doing?!" Ryan shouted as he jumped
back up to his feet. "I-I can't believe you would kiss a guy!" Blaine
looked a little surprised by this outburst. Rushing past his parents,
Ryan dashed up the stairs and back into his room, having completely
discarded the idea of heading outside. Locking his door once again, Ryan
struggled to push his dresser in front of the door, but finally succeeded
with a small grunt at the end. Curling up into a ball on his bed, Ryan's
mind was racing from the events that had just occurred. Having the
solitude to think about what had been happening, he was becoming more and
more frustrated from confusing situation that he had fallen into.

Sitting at a circular table in the dining room, Blaine and Ryan's parents
were discussing the events that had taken place several hours ago. "I'm
not quite sure how to handle this," Blaine said to Ryan's parents. "I
guess I went too quickly for Ryan." Adjusting his glasses atop his nose,
Blaine thought about how he could make Ryan open up to him.
"I wouldn't worry about it too much," Ryan's father replied. "It's
obviously a shock for him, but he's a strong kid. He'll get through this.
Or should I say, she?" Ryan's father began to chuckle to himself at the
joke, but Blaine was much too concerned about his fiance to laugh.
"She just needs some time to adjust," Ryan's mother said. "She just needs
to be pushed a little further." Blaine wasn't so sure about pushing Ryan
so much, especially after he had seen his reaction to the kiss. His
thoughts were broken again as Ryan's mother continued to speak. "After
all," she said, a strange sparkle in her eyes, "You did see how much she
liked you, right?"
Blaine nearly laughed, but felt doing such a thing would insult Ryan's
mother. "You must be mistaken," he said. "There was no hint of any sort
of attraction coming from her. It's obvious Ryan is completely opposed to
the idea of a marriage." Ryan's mother began to giggle, which confused
Blaine. Had he really misinterpreted Ryan's reactions? It really felt
like Ryan didn't like him at all.
Before their conversation could continue, Blaine heard the soft footsteps
of someone creeping down the stairs. Getting up and heading toward the
front door, he caught Ryan in the act of exiting the house. However, it
was Ryan himself that surprised Blaine the most: Ryan was once again a
boy. Before he could say anything, Ryan had dashed out through the front
door. "What is going on?" Blaine pondered out loud.
"I can answer that," Ryan's father announced. "You remember that Ryan's
birthday is coming up soon, right?" Blaine nodded. "Well, the
transformation isn't complete until his sixteenth birthday," Ryan's
father said. "In fact, his sixteenth birthday is your deadline to keep
the transformation permanent." Blaine was surprised by this, as he had
not been told that the transformation could be reversed. "I can tell you
weren't expecting an answer like that. Let me explain what is going on
with Ryan. As of now, his transformation into the opposite sex is
unstable. I believe it is triggered more often when you are closer to
him." Ryan's father paused to let the information sink in for Blaine.
"Furthermore, as it gets closer to his sixteenth birthday, his female
state will become more frequent and last longer when you are away.
Finally, the key to keeping him in his female state is... well, he needs
to kiss you on his sixteenth birthday."
Although he shouldn't have been surprised that Ryan's father had such a
detailed knowledge of Ryan's transformation, Blaine was still momentarily
stunned. When his mind finally reached the last part of what Ryan's
father had told him, he had to voice his concerns. "Wait a minute. So, in
order for Ryan to remain a girl, we just have to kiss? I've already done
that."
Ryan's father shook his head. "That's not what I said. First, it has to
be done on his sixteenth birthday. That means that you have a twenty-four
hour window. Second, HE has to kiss YOU. It can't be something forced.
Third and finally, it has to be a kiss filled with the passion of true
love. In other words, Ryan has to truly love you with all of his... erm,
her heart in order to remain a female and your fiance. Otherwise, the
entire marriage is finished."
Upon hearing this, Blaine's mind fell deeper into thought. Finally, he
voiced his most serious concerns. "Is this right, though?" Blaine asked.
"I... I know that I love her, but I don't want to force something like a
marriage onto Ryan." Blaine began to twiddle his thumbs while staring at
his shoes. He knew he had gotten too excited about the marriage. His own
parents had told him that Ryan might not accept the arrangement. That he
would need to take things slowly and show Ryan how reliable he could be.
Unfortunately, he had gotten too caught up in how breathtakingly
beautiful his fiance had turned out. How her voice sounded like that of
an angel. Blaine made a private vow to himself to treat her as best as
he could from now on. He would try his best to start off as friends and
work his way up properly.
Blaine's thoughts were broken when the front door to the house burst
open. "I'm never going to kiss this guy!" Ryan shouted furiously. Both
Blaine and Ryan's parents were taken aback.
"When did you-" Ryan's father began, but was quickly cut off by another
outburst from Ryan.
"I never actually left! I was hiding right behind the front door!" Ryan
said sharply. "Now that I understand how I transform, I'll make sure I'm
never near you again, Blaine!"
"You know, I've been thinking," Ryan's mother butted in. "We can't just
keep calling Ryan by his male name when he's a girl. She needs a name of
her own." Ryan stood there for a moment, surprised by the complete change
of subject. "Oh, I know!" she exclaimed happily. "Why not Beth?"
"What are you talking about?!" Ryan yelled. "There's no way I'm turning
into a female again! And I'm definitely not marrying this guy!" With the
last of the sentence, Ryan thrust a finger out at Blaine.
"You know, I think Miranda sounds nicer," Ryan's father commented. "It
sounds more authoritative."
"Wi-will you two listen to me?!" Ryan shouted, faltering slightly from
their complete disregard of his proclamation.
"You guys," Blaine started in an attempt to mediate between the family.
"No, no, I actually think Marissa is better than Miranda," Ryan's mother
said, ignoring Blaine.
"Well, how about Rebecca? That has a noble-sounding tone to it," Ryan's
father replied, also ignoring Blaine.
"Oh, you and your obsession with high-standing names," Ryan's mother
snorted. "You really want her to be at the top of everything, don't you?"
"STOP IGNORING ME!" Ryan hollered, stamping his foot on the floor. "I
would definitely rather be called Charlotte!" Ryan clapped both of his
hands over his mouth as Blaine and Ryan's parents turned to look at him.
While Blaine looked surprised, Ryan's parents both looked rather pleased,
especially his mother, who had a very mischievous grin on her face.
"That's perfect," she said happily while walking up to Ryan. "I think
that name suites you well!" Ryan's father also walked up to him and put a
hand on Ryan's shoulder.
"Yes. It's elegant," he said with obvious pleasure in his voice. "You
made a great choice!"
"Wai-wait," Ryan stuttered. "That's not what I meant to say. I... I..."
With each passing second, Ryan's face grew redder and redder.
"Your mother was right after all," Blaine smiled. "This is great! I
can't wait to tell your class about this!"
"I-what?!" Ryan exclaimed. "Why would you tell my class about our
marriage? I mean, your attempt at... uh..."
"Oh, right, I hadn't had the chance to tell you yet," Blaine said
quickly. "I'm going to be shadowing one of your teachers at school
starting next week!" Blaine quickly pulled Ryan into a hug, but broke
out of it shortly after, remembering his oath to work his way into Ryan
(now Charlotte's) heart more slowly.
"I... I..." Ryan began, before suddenly clutching at himself. Much to the
pleasure of Blaine and Ryan's parents, he began to transform back into
his female form. Within a few seconds, Ryan had finished his
transformation into Charlotte. "This... you... I" stuttered Charlotte,
unable to complete her sentence.
"Wonderful," Charlotte's mother exclaimed while clapping her hands
together. "Now we take you out to get measured properly! After all,
you'll be needing the right sizes when you go to school next week in your
new uniform!"
