* Three friends come across a rift in space time and land in the amazon
home world.
* To begin with the three are a little nerdy. John is into Star Wars/
Star Trek big time. He becomes Jenny and becomes sporty and turns into a
hunter/warrior of the amazon. Clarence is into math/science. He becomes
Claire and starts out trying to become a warrior like Jenny but cannot
handle it. She is forced to become a seamstress but later becomes a
builder and an inventor.
* To start out they are thrown deep into Azure, the great blue forest of
Warrant. To start with they are frantic and look for a way back home.
They try the fruit after a day or so with much hesitation. Later they
find a river and with it a village.
* Soon after they are captured as three men alone in a forest is very
very rare sight. They are taken back to the village by the hunters and
they think fear they are going to be sacrificed. The hunters are very
suspicious of them men since they fear it might be a trap by a rival
village. So they lock up the men while they prepare for battle and
decide what to do with them men.
* While in their cages the men start to change. The changes are slight
but one very noticeable change is the hair on their arms and their skin
becoming softer save Jimmy who feels more energetic. The women who do
come to feed them are very friendly and flirtatious. They come up with a
whole nest of theories as to what is going on (poisoned, slaves,
sacrifices, etc.). The next day one of the serving girls notices the
changes to the boy's skin and hair (it has grown a little on the two soon
to be girls. (I think I want to make her a former changeling with a
fountain of youth effect). She then tells the guards and they hesitantly
bring in the one male their village possess (Marty). Luckily he was
taught English and Spanish by a couple of the changelings before they
forgot their native tongue (thinking I'll make men natural translators to
facilitate plot and such).
* Marty talks with the boys and tells them a little about Amazonia
(different word in the Amazonian tongue but that is the translation, name
TBA). They are daunted by the prospect that they might turn into girls
but quickly distracted by the feast and festivities the village starts to
prepare.
* Over the next couple of days the physical changes are completed. They
slowly learn the language and the girls start having trouble with
English. On top of this mental changes occur that roughly coincide with
the language changes as the girl go from male thoughts to female thoughts
but this is only shown from what Jimmy observes.
*.The new girls are forced to become productive members of society and
are trained to be warriors. Claire is almost immediately thrown out since
she fails the courage test. Jimmy is taught how to watch the children and
is set up with his first mate Sasha (girl who notices the changes). While
watching the children he is given a great amount of freedom and watches
some of the training of his friends. He begins to notice that they start
adopting the values of the Amazonians.
* Later Jimmy realizes that his friends have given up trying to go home
and asks Marty for help. Marty doesn't understand why he would want to
leave this paradise (Marty is in his 40s FYI) but tells them that there
are a few scholars in the capital who are said to travel the cosmos. So
Jimmy plans to run away and tries to take his friends with him. He tries
to bring it up with his friends but Claire becomes emotional that he
would leave and Jenny states that he cannot leave that would be against
the rules. (They are both very far along in their progression and have
become attached to him like lovers and try to sneak him away from Sasha
at times even though it is not their turn although at first they do so
just to confide in him and it is seen as such it later starts turning
into the real thing).
* Eventually he tries to escape by himself but Claire saw him leave and
followed after him while Jenny knew exactly where he was going and goes
after him to bring him back after noticing him missing.
* Jimmy confronts Jenny a little while after finding Claire following him
(thinking a day in-between).However she isn't given a chance to capture
him as they are all soon captured by imperial soldiers and taken to the
capital.
* They go through a shorter adjustment period and Jimmy finds that
scholars are all female and have been tracking rifts for a while and have
started predicting them. This is how they knew one would be near the
village but they had gotten the time of the appearance wrong. Jimmy also
then later discovers (under the tutelage of one the men of the capital)
that there is a secret way back to earth at the center of the continent
that the women guard fiercely.
* The story then goes into sneaking into the place with the trio after
Jimmy finally convinces the two to come back to earth. Back on earth some
of the changes like language reverse quickly but the rest of permanent
(gender and a lot of mental changes). Jimmy marries the two girls and
they go off to start their own family and possible introduce Amazonians
into the gene pool.
Notes
Men are a commodity here since 1 out of every 50 children is born female.
Men who fall through the rifts that appear will be changed by the water
in the world. Two out of three will slowly change into women in the
course of three days while the lucky ones become stronger, fitter, and
more virile. The world has its own language, at first the people who end
up there can't understand the natives and vice versa. After changing
though their brains are rewired to speak Amazonian and can no longer
understand English. Men who change however understand both languages. The
effect isn't however immediate and at first they start understanding
words and phrases without losing English. Slowly English becomes harder
for them to use until they can no longer speak it.
Story is centered on Jimmy the lucky one. It's told in the first person
perspective from jimmy. He watched his friends turn into girls and cope
with this amazon world (thrown into Camelot like style).
They are generally kept safe in villages and not allowed to wonder very
far. Women do all the fighting, building, foraging, hunting, and
governing. Men watch over the children while their Mothers go to work.
There are three major kingdoms on the continent where they land. Each one
has a large major city and villages scattered about. There are farms
around the major cities but the smaller villages are foragers and hunters
that rarely interact with the main cities unless called upon. The
exception being the traders that go between as the smaller villages trade
furs and fruits in exchange for all the other materials they need from
the capital. The capital itself is usually located next to a mine and is
made out of stone whereas the villages are made out of wood.
