Synopsis: Nancy and her mother, Karen, go shopping for clothes in Mexico

Mom was right. Shopping did a lot to ease my pain. If I had had a penis it

things that made you wonder whether or not I have regrets, but I was just

missing it. It's just that I'm feeling everything at once and it's so much
to take in, but I love being like you, Mom. Look at me! It's like we could

"Technically speaking, you're your father's sister, but I know what you

"That's a hard call and it's tough to say. I did lose a son and we both
lost your youth. We should have had more time together as mother and son,
but looking on the bright side, it means we have more time to spend together

"Mom?"
"Yes, Honey."
"I've been thinking about Ken, but I've also been thinking about Abby and
Ben."
"Then that makes two of us."
"What am I going to do about them? I mean things are so serious...Well not

"But I thought you liked Ken and his kids."

"And you'll be perfect for Ben and Abby too, because they love you. You'll
see Nancy. And it's not like I'm saying that being a wife and a mother is
easy, because it's not, but you can do it and you can enjoy it at the same
time. Just don't get so far ahead of yourself and remember this isn't a
race. You have your whole life to be Nancy Peterman."
I grinned and shook my head, because I realized my mother was right about my
life not being a race. I crushed out my cigarette and reached for my case.
At the same time, Mom was laughing and I looked at her for an explanation.

to Ken and a mother to Ben and Abby. And don't tell me it doesn't turn you
