CHAPTER 11
BEEP BEEP BEEP! BEEP BEEP BEEP! Oh god, it's way to freaking early! I
reached out slapping my alarm clock off the side table onto the floor,
making a load bang as it slammed onto the ground. Doing so make me jump
right up and out of bed.
"Jeez, you idiot," I said to myself picking up the clock and putting it
back and making my way to the bathroom. As my eyes were still adjusting to
being up, I started to take a morning piss. As I looked down I saw my red

I parked my car and went to homeroom. Michael was there already and he was
talking to Heather. It's the moment of truth. I made my way over to my
seat and sat down. Michael didn't look at me at all and just kept talking
to Heather.
"Hey, guys," I said somewhat nervous.
"Hey Charlie," Heather said, as Michael just gave me a 'what's up' head
nod.
"So Charlie, when do I get to meet Kyleigh?" Heather said to me all
excited.
"Who?" I asked confused out of my mind.
"Kyleigh! Are you alright? Did you bump your head of something?" She
asked.
"No," I said. "Who is Kyleigh?" I asked really not understanding what was
going on.
"Don't be a little shit. Your cousin, Kyleigh. Michael here was just
gushing over her like crazy.
"My cousin?" I said with what I'm guessing was a very dumbfounded look.
"Dude, your cousin!" Michael said. "You must be having a bad morning," He
added.
"Oh, yes Kyleigh!, my, um cousin," I said acting as if I had a freaking
clue what was going on.
"So, when do I get to meet this amazing cousin of yours?" Heather asked.
"Well, you see, um, I don't know," I said not having a clue as to how to
answer her.
"Well I want to me her. Michael said she is very pretty and has a great
smile. Plus he said she likes our Phillies. So she has to be a cool
chick," Heather said.
"Well, um, she is. She is all that Michael said she is," I added guessing
that is was the best answer to give.
"Heather, are you working on Friday night?" Michael asked.
"Yes. I got a 7 till closing shift, why?"
"Well I was going to ask Kyleigh out for Friday night. I thought I would
bring her to your job. What do you think Charlie? Think Kyleigh would like
to go there?" Michael said as he turned to look at me.
"Well, I um, I think she is busy Friday...," I started to say when Heather
chimed in with "Oh, Charlie, you got to tell her to go. Michael is awesome
plus I bet she could get out of her plans."
"I don't know..." I tried to speak again as the bell rang for us to go to
our first class.
As we got up to leave Michael grabbed his backpacked and rushed out the
door before I could say anything to him. Heather and I had the same first
period, so we walked together.
"So how long is your cousin in town for?" Heather asked me.
"I don't know. Not long, I hope." That last part said under my breathe.
"We Michael seems to really be into her. He said he never meet a girl that
he liked as much as her," Heather said as we arrived to our class.
I didn't say anything else. I just got to my seat and started to let my
thoughts wander. What the hell is Michael up to? Was he really mad about
last night and is just trying to scare me? Is he trying to teach me a
lesson or something? Or does he really want to go out with me as a girl? I
just kept these thoughts running through my head all day long. All day up
till I go to gym class when I saw Michael again.
"Hey Charlie," he said with an added head nod.
"Hey Michael," I said nervously. "Um....what the hell is going on?" I said
kind of mad and scared at the same time. Michael isn't a small guy. He
towered over me. I'm very small for a guy in size and height. Michael is
6'1" and is the one for the football team's star wide receivers. So he was
built too. He was always in the gym staying fit for the next season. Where
I always felt less like a man anyway just standing next to him. Being only
5'5" and not very strong and pretty thin compared to him. So to show a bit
of anger towards him is brave on my part.
"What do you mean, what's going on?" Michael said, as if to really play
dumb.
"Come on Mike, I'm not joking. What is this Kyleigh shit?" I ask.
"Oh, you mean your cousin, Kyleigh. I thought she might like to get out of
the house and go have some fun with a nice guy," Michael said with a big
smile.
"Dude, you're starting to scare me. You know I can't do that. That I
shouldn't do that," I said.
"I know, but I didn't want you to hang out with me, I wanted to take
Kyleigh out."
"Really dude, what is up? Where the hell did Kyleigh come from?" I asked.
"Look. When I saw her last night, I don't know, I felt something in my
gut. And I could kind of tell that she wanted to go out again if she
could. And I just figured that we know each other very well already and it
would be a fun time. So I want to take Kyleigh out on a date. And I think
she would like to go," he said.
"Mike, I don't know what the hell is going on in my head. I have so many
feelings that are new to me and I don't know what to do with them. I love
and hate them. I feel like they are wrong but feel right. And I think if I
don't close the lid on them now and try to bury them now, I will end up
hurting myself or family later. So I don't think I should let Kyleigh out
any more," I said shaking.
"Well it's too late. I told Heather to save me and my date a table on
Friday cause Kyleigh already said she would love to go out. So you better
let her know that I will pick her up at 8 on Friday," Michael said as he
walked away from me.
My jaw must have been hanging on the floor. I was so surprised by what
just happen. Michael wants to take me out on a real date. He wants me to
be a girl and go out with him. And now I have a third name? Where the hell
did he get Kyleigh from?
As the Thursday school day ended, I made my way home. As I walked into the
house I was surprised to see my mom standing in the kitchen.
"Hey Charlie boy," Mom said as I closed the front door.
"Hey mom. I thought you would be sleeping," I said.
"Yeah, I just woke up an hour ago by a phone call."
"Oh, anything important?" I asked, but in the back of my mind I was
praying it wasn't one of my gentlemen calling!!
"No, it was just Ms. Richards. It was weird. She was thanking me for
telling her about some skin lotion I told her I used, which I don't
remember doing and about some guy she has started dating," My mom said.
Oh crap. This can be bad, I thought. "Oh is that it?" I asked.
"Yeppers. How was your day sonny boy?" Mom said as she stopped cutting my
some veggies she was preparing for some dinner.
"It was ok. Nothing special," I said. "I might have a date for Friday
night," I added. Kind of testing the waters.
"Oh yeah!" She said really happy. "What's here name, how old is she, is
she in your class?" She was acting as if she just hit the jackpot or
something huge.
"Oh, Um her name is Kyleigh. She is in my homeroom," I said.
"Ah, Kyleigh, that's a nice name. It's like a female version of your
middle name," she added.
Then it dawned on me. That is where Michael got it from. He couldn't tell
Heather that he meet a girl named Charlie, when that's his best friend's
name. But he knew my middle name is Kyle and he just made it girly just
like I have been doing to appearance.
"Yeah, Kyleigh. So am I able to go? I didn't know if you were working or
not. I didn't know if I needed to stay home and what Neil," I asked.
"Oh, yes. I'm going in about tomorrow afternoon at 5. But I will see if
Neil can sleep over on of his friends' houses since it's Friday so you can
see have your date. I'm so happy for you Charlie boy. This girl is lucky
to get to have a date with my amazing son!!" So added. Which made my heart
drop.
Seems I can't really use my mom as a reason to get out of this mess.
"Sweet," was all I said as I heard to the front door open and slam. Neil
was home. I wonder if something happen with Jackson in school which has
gotten him all mad.
"Hey hey, mister, don't slam the door like that. What's a matter honey?"
my mom asked Neil.
Waiting for him to say "Mr. Avery... blah blah blah." But instead he said,
"The party was canceled," Neil said as he threw down his backpack.
"Neil, calm down. Why was the party cancelled?" Mom asked.
"Because Missy Gardner is moving," Neil said.
"Moving??" I asked surprised.
"Yes. She told us today that her mom got a job in California and she was
moving next week so the party was off," Neil said as he put his head down
on the kitchen table.
I can't believe this shit. I have a date tomorrow night with my best
friend, a guy, cause I helped Neil so he could go to a party that is now
cancelled. Just my luck.
"I'm sorry, sweetie," Mom said. "Charlie has a date tomorrow night, so if
you want to call some of your friends and see if you can sleep over, go
for it. Maybe that can cheer you up some," Mom said as she was putting the
veggies into a pot of steaming water.
"Charlie has a date? Which who?" Neil said as his head rose real fast.
"Some girl, you don't know her, what's it matter?" I asked starting to get
mad and worried his stupid mouth might say something.
"Oh nothing," Neil said as he looked at me winking.
Why the hell did he just wink at me? I flipped him off and told my mom
"I'm not really hungry mom, I'm just going to go to my room and do my
homework and watch some tv. May I be accused?" I asked.
"Sure. I'll put the left overs in the fridge if you change your mind,
sonny boy," Mom said as she gave me a kiss on my forehead.
I when to my room, flipped on the tv and started to take of my clothes. I
thought I would take a shower before I did my homework and then when to
bed. I started to think about my day. Once again I felt like my hand was
being forced into something I didn't really want but deep down I felt like
I kind of did. I took of my clothes and my socks and once again could see
my red toenails. I figured since I was going to be going out again
tomorrow night I mind as well just leave the polish on for now. I went to
the bathroom and thought that one thing need was that I shaved my legs. I
had very blonde hair on them but it was starting to come in and my legs
didn't feel smooth. So I started a bath and got in and took care of the
hair. Afterwards I threw on a t-shirt and as I was walking to the other
side of my room to get some pj bottoms or some shorts to sleep in, I cause
I glimpse of myself in the mirror. The top I had on was kind of big. And
my hair was still wet, but just that little bit, I looked like a young
girl. I wasn't trying to but wilt the top, the shaved legs and the red toe
nails.... I looked very girly. Since I was going to be alone in my room just
doing homework and studying, I went to the bottom of my laundry basket and
pulled out the panties I wore the night before. I tucked myself and
slipped the panties on. I just tried to forget I had them on. I did my
homework and put my things ways and crawled into bed. I just laid there.
Trying to fall a sleep. Thoughts kept popping in my head. Why did Michael
