With a big smile on my face I stepped slowly to the crib and then lifted

The soft reassuring words almost immediately comforted Stephanie, and
her crying stopped. I held her in my arms, gently rocking her as the
tears and sniffles were soon replaced by a quiet contentment. "That's
right, sweetie, everything's fine. Mama's here."
I could tell by the feel of her diaper that she needed changing, and
without even thinking about Jack watching me, I brought her over to the
changing table and gently laid her down. I had a lot of experience
