Part Two:
Mum, then, was joining in in my feminisation as she had just bought me
my first negligee. Having said that it was only one item of clothing
and it wasn't as if I hadn't just blown a significant part of my first
month's salary on expanding my lingerie collection not to mention the
blouses and skirts I had just bought. And she had just called me Tonia?
"Go on put it on," Mum said.
I wondered if she meant put on the name Tonia for a moment or put one
the negligee? Yes, Tonia, it sounded better than Antonia. It was more
me I thought as I looked at my first negligee.
I unbuttoned my blouse and draped it over the kitchen chair before
unzipping my skirt and letting it fall to the floor. I stepped out of
it, still wearing my stilettos, which caught on the waist of my
miniskirt as I stepped out of it.
I stood there for a moment in front of my mum wearing the same red bra,
panties, stockings and suspenders I had worn yesterday but I had added a
black silk half slip with a lace trim and a slit on the right side. At
least I guessed it was meant to be worn that way as in doing so it
positioned the label between my buttocks.
I wouldn't have been confident to appear in the kitchen in my underwear
in front of Mum before but with what I was now wearing it seemed that it
was nothing Mum hadn't seen before. I didn't want Dad to see me there
in my lingerie so I hurriedly put my negligee over my head and my arms
through the straps and let it slide down my body. Even with my bra and
panties on it caressed my body enough to make me shiver with delight as
I put it on. It stopped just above my stocking tops.
"Normally you wouldn't wear stockings and suspenders under it, Tonia,"
Mum said. "Or even a bra, although that is optional but most women
prefer not to sleep in a bra. Here you might learn some stuff from
this."
Mum passed me a copy of Cosmopolitan magazine and we had a salad
together.
"I feel like I have lost a son and gained a daughter, goodnight
sweetie," Mum said kissing me on the cheek as I went up to bed with her
magazine. Mum then helped me pack away my shirts and trousers and
replace them with my skirts and blouses. She said she would get Dad to
put the cases in the garage. She said she would wash my lingerie and
replace my boxer shorts with my lingerie whilst I was at work tomorrow.
She took my socks and left them in a box by my bed which she said she
would fill with my boxer shorts in the morning. So my underwear drawer
contained packs of stockings and tights and my boxer shorts. I looked
at it. It was as if my masculinity was being crowded out.
So, by the time Dad came home, I was wearing my first negligee and lying
in my bed reading a copy of Mum's Cosmopolitan magazine. I had thought
the magazine would be all about beauty products and fashion and that I
would not be able to read it. In short I thought it would be too
feminine for me but I was drawn in by the editorial and by the time I
had read:
"So this summer, my advice to you is this: don't plan it, just live it.
Keep your mind and your options open because the moments that change
your life are the ones that take you by surprise."
It seemed to me that the editor Farrah Storr was writing just for me.
Dad popped in to see what I was reading and said, "You are becoming
quite the little Princess, aren't you?"
I replied, "I didn't chose to dress as a woman, it was your company
dress code. As soon as I stop working for your company I am back in
men's clothes!"
"And you will stop reading Cosmopolitan?"
"Ha ha very funny," I said sarcastically.
"Well, why are you reading it then?" Dad asked.
"Well, I figured as I am going to be a girl I might as well be the best
girl I can be."
"That's my boy! I mean girl," said Dad.
I didn't tell him that I had never felt like a magazine had been written
more for me than this one because I didn't want him calling me his Cosmo
girl. But it wouldn't be untrue to say that I felt like I was a Cosmo
girl now. I found an offer for Cosmopolitan's first ever beauty box on
page 81 for ?20. It looked like a good deal particularly as I was
worried about blowing the rest of my salary on beauty products. Why
should this magazine be considered only as a girl's magazine? It was
very much what I wanted and needed in a magazine.
Although Mum was encouraging me to dress as a girl she had not absolved
Dad for his sexist dress code. Last night she had listened as Dad had
said to me:
"I think you wanted to dress as a girl. Well cupcake I can't show
favouritism to you, in fact I am going to have to be tougher on you than
my other employees, so you are going to have to spend your summer en
femme."
And she had tried to persuade him to pull some strings so that I could
dress as a man again but he had pretty much repeated what he had said to
me. So whilst we were at work she had thrown out Dad's boxer shorts and
replaced them with panties and thrown out his socks and replaced them
with pantyhose. If her son was going to dress as a woman her husband
was going to show some bloody solidarity she resolved. He would be
going to work dressed as a woman too if she had her way and she was
determined to have her way.
I wasn't aware of this then, nor was Dad, but the following morning,
while I was sleeping, he came in my room to borrow some boxer shorts
from me, but made the mistake of leaving the on his bed whilst he went
to the bathroom.
Mum found them there and thinking they were dad's boxer shorts cut them
up so Dad was forced to either wear the panties she had bought him or
borrow another pair from me.
Dad decided to pretend he knew nothing about my remaining pairs of boxer
shorts. He put on a pair of black wet look pvc panties and tried on a
60 denier pair of tights which he ripped.
He then came in and woke me.
"Antonia, how do you put on tights?" he asked.
"Oh my God!" I said. "It's father's day and my father is gay!"
"I am not gay Antonia, I just felt I should show some solidarity with
you and wear panties and tights under my suit to work today," he said,
too ashamed to tell me Mum had thrown out all of his underwear.
