"Look master," he said. "I told you when you popped open the seal what
you have to do. You get three wishes and you have to follow the rules.
You really want this then you have to follow the rules, otherwise I don't
have to do jack for you."
"Fine," I said. "Djinn, I wish for you to make me broad. To make me
someone that no one can ever ignore because of how I look again."
"Alright," he said. "That's what you want then that's what you'll have.
Coming up lickety-split."
The Djinn closed his eyes and my own vision blurred and I felt woozy. The
whole world blanked out and then turned black and when I could see again
I was on the floor with my legs curled underneath me and my palms resting
on the tile. My long curly hair hung down and blocked out anything other

The djinn may have been pleading ignorance but I didn't buy it. "I don't
care what you thought I said," I told him. "Listen to what I'm telling

"Not sure you're going to like that but done," he said and closed his
eyes again.
This time it took a little longer for me to get my vision back and once I

was normal for me and that was kind of a hard thing to change once you
were comfortable with that. Still; what a complete waste, three wishes

started out as. There had to be another way out of this.
"Look, I know that was my last wish, but there has to be something that
we can do isn't there?" I asked him as sweetly as I could. I may not be a
twig but I was good looking and being sweet goes a lot further than being
shrill. People put up with that from twigs that look pretty where they

"I'm sorry, former mistress," he said sadly to me. "But there is really
nothing that I can do. All you are granted is three wishes. I cannot give
any more than that."
"You said give," I said pointing that out. "Does that mean that you can
do something else?"
"Well there is something, but you are not going to like it. No one ever
does," he said.
"Well what is it?" I asked. "How will I know what it is when you haven't
told me?"
"You can earn a wish," he said. "Not many people figure it out like you
did former mistress. I'm only allowed to give three wishes, but if you
are willing to earn them then you can have as many as you choose."
"How do I earn them?" I asked. If this worked out then this might not be
a waste after all.
"You give the djinn you have recently held command over seven years. Each
seven years of service will earn you a lesser wish. If you desire to gain
a greater wish then you must work longer for it; that way the effort is
worthy of the reward. Do you wish to do this former mistress?"
"Just seven years?" I ask.
"Only seven for the wish you earn. If you desire to make that one more
powerful you can spend another seven years and you may have two lesser
wishes or combine them for a more powerful one."
"And what happens when I just disappear from here? People would notice,"
I pointed out.
"While you are earning your wish you are removed from the time stream.
When you return you are reinserted into it. None will notice your absence
since from their perspective you have never left."
"I'll do it then," I said. Of course I would. I mean how often does a
girl get to have a wish handed to her even if she has to work for it a
bit?"
"You have to say that you will serve me for seven years or I cannot do
this," he told me.
"I will serve you for seven years for the wish you promise me," I said
hoping that was the right way.
"Master," he said firmly to me.
"What?" I asked.
"You have to bow before me and address me as master," he said. "Unless
you demonstrate your submission then your words mean nothing."
I bowed down as far before him as I could. I felt the rolls of my fat

"I will serve you master for seven years for the wish that you promised
me," I said.
His eyes got brighter and I heard him say done in a voice like thunder

He looked down on me and fixed me in his glare. "While you serve me I
will address you as Anise," he said. He clapped his hands together and
another woman. A slim brunette with big eyes behind a sheer veil came out
of a nearby room. "Rachel, this is Anise. She will be serving here as
well. Take her to her quarters and attire her properly. See that she is
brought to me properly prepared this evening so that she may begin her
service to me properly."
Rachel looked at me and gestured and I gulped inwardly and wondered if
what he said about tonight meant what I think it did. Rachel took me
through a series of room each leading into the other without a single
door to bar the way. Eventually she led me into a room with at least a
dozen other women occupying themselves inside it. All of them looked up
at me as we entered and Rachel held up her hand when we entered. The
other women turned back to what they were doing and she led me into
another connected room and started pulling out clothing that was similar
in design as what she was wearing and only differed in size and color.
I slipped out of the rags that I was wearing. Somehow my clothing had
split and shredded itself and was hanging off of me in tatters. I was
glad to slip into something that was not so ragged and as I slipped into

"The master will expect you to be in his chambers this evening. You will

long."
"You're right," I agreed. "Seven years isn't that long of a time."
"That's not what I meant," she said. "The master will eventually change
how you look just like he did for all of the girls here. I just hope he

the point. He'll change you just like he changed us eventually."
"How do you mean change?" I asked nervously.
