He expressed his unhappiness in his married life with his wife. I felt the alcohol is slowly opening him up. He also told me that he named his other daughter ‘Kavya’ and she is 12 years old now.
Kavya, this name is having the same meaning like my wife’s name ‘Kavitha’. I understood from this that he loves all his children equally. I told him to go back to his hotel and take rest in one of the rooms for a while. I told him that I will come in the evening to take him back to home. He knows that I took few hours off from my work to meet him, so he told me not to worry and promised me that he will surely come home in the evening. I called up Kavitha and told her that things are looking better.
Now I have to play a very crucial role. I have to explain all this to MIL and also convince her to give FIL what he is expecting from her. I would have asked Kavitha to do this if FIL didn’t tell me not to mention this to either Kavitha or to my brother in law Karan. I called up my office and took off for rest of the day as well. MIL: This is not fair don’t you know that you have to treat every one equally in the house. I know that I was ignored once again because I am an old lady. I saw a curiosity in her eyes. I didn’t answer her and went to my room. I like her a lot. She is no more like a mother in law for me. She pulled up a chair near the dining table and sat there with a cup of tea in her hand. I didn’t know how to start the conversation. I know that I have the liberty with her to talk all sorts of things. But now I have to ask her to be something which she may not want to be. I have to enter the inconvenient territory of asking her about her sexual life. I now have to talk to my own mother in law about her sexual preferences.
