I have not ascertained its full range as yet.” Cavendish looked admiringly at the weaponry, he was no expert but could see each was a thing of beauty.

The cartridge would be different, but then they can be packed and made using moulds, as can the bullets if lead is available. I have others too” he was getting excited now “Look, this is a bullet of glass. It fires just as well as lead, brass or steel, but when it hits it shatters and causes tremendous damage. This one I am experimenting with, it is a baked clay sheath with tiny balls of baked clay inside, do you see? Like a miniature shrapnel shell! Or a shotgun cartridge perhaps, but with a much greater range.
