“LORDY, I reckon it was. They lay and talked for a long time afterward about how much they loved each other and how good it was to have time alone to make love. They kissed a lot too while they talked and held each other. Then she asked him if it was good for him and he told her that it was the best they had ever done it,” Abigail added.
“Do they still get to see each other? Were they ever caught?” Lee Yu asked.
“They got married last winter when she told her mother and daddy she was having a baby,” Abigail told them.
Lilly Beth looked at them and gasped, “OH NO, I would die if that happened to me and I had to tell my dad. That is if he didn’t kill me first.”
“I wonder if it’s still fun for them, now that they’re married and having a baby?” Lee Yu said.
“You wouldn’t believe it, but they still go to the barn together and we see them holding hands and walking out to the haystacks about dark too. They are truly in love and though we don’t want to get pregnant until we’ve been married a year or so, Belinda and I have already told each other that we want that kind of love,” Abigail told of their personal feelings.
Belinda wanted them to know how they really felt, “We sure do, we want the same kind of love our moms and dads have too. They still hug and kiss in front of us girls, and our moms have told us all about loving a man and how good it can be if two people really love each other.”
Lilly Beth and Lee Yu looked at each other and grinned, just before Lilly Beth spoke up, “This is exactly what we wanted to know. I mean, we already know how babies are made and we know grownups love each other while naked in bed. We just never knew what it was like to do things in daylight and not be afraid to show a boy that we loved him that much.”
Abigail looked at each of them, “Momma told us that as long as we didn’t let a boy touch our naked body and didn’t let him lay between our legs, we could still show him we loved him.”

The four of them slept in the same bed, though there were two beds in the room. The talked until nearly dawn, before finally falling to sleep.
About the time Micah and Caleb were leaving their room, Ezra and Pike were just now headed to their room. They were down at the very end of the hall, across from Samantha and Cecily. The boys had been discussing how those girls seemed to love them even more than they’d told them in their letters and telegraph messages.
“Ezra?”
“Yeah?”
“What would you say if I told you Cecily was going to slip into our room for a while later tonight?”
“Really? Damn your time, Pike. How did you get her to agree to that?”
“I didn’t. She just told me right out that she was coming to see me and she’d be naked when she did.”

“She told me that, Ezra. I kind of hope she does, but I’m scared as hell that she will too.
“Ezra, what if she does come here naked and her parents catch us together?”

“What would you do if Sam came with her and she was naked too?”

“I caught that, now tell me what she really said.”

“Pike, I swear, if you don’t stop talking about this, I’m going out to the stable and sleep with the horses.”

Ezra raised up in the dark and threw a pillow over toward Pike’s bed just as their door opened a crack.

There were two shadows in the doorway as both boys looked toward the dim light of the open door to see the two cousins slipping into the room naked.
“You owe me an apology, Mr. Crow,” Pike said and both boys laughed aloud as the door latch clicked.
“Shit, it’s dark in here. Where are you, Ezra?” Samantha Blasingame said and both girls giggled in the dark again as they felt their way to the beds.
“I’m in the first bed, Sam. What in the hell are you two crazy cousins doing in here?”
“We came to see our fellows. I hope you’re naked, Ezra, cause I am.”
“Sam, you and Cecily are going to get us killed!”

Pike felt Cecily pulling the sheet out from the foot of his bed. He raised up, trying to see her in the dark room, “Cecily?” he called to her softly.
She never answered and he wondered what she was doing. He felt a hand on each of his bare feet and jerked his legs up instinctively.
“Are you ticklish on your feet, Pike?” She asked from under the sheet and laughed as she pulled his feet back down.
“I am and don’t you be tickling me either,” he said and laughed when she ran her hands up and down his legs to his knees.
Before he knew what she was up to, she crawled right up under his sheets between his legs, laying her head on his naked belly, kissing his belly button.

Over on the other bed, Ezra was having an even tougher time trying to get Samantha to stop. Before he wasn’t able stop her.

Ezra pulled Samantha over to lay beside him as she shook with laughter and hugged him. She turned her head in the dark and they kissed.

“YES, I wish I was stronger like my brothers. Hell, I’ll never be able to resist you until we’re old enough to marry.”

Cecily and Pike jumped up from the bed, grabbing the bed covers to throw over Sam and Ezra. They were laughing and screaming and yelling in the dark room, and someone was sure to come see about them.
Cecily grabbed Pike when she bumped into him as they turned. She pulled his head down and kissed his lips.
With their girls wrapped in blankets, Ezra and Pike were finally able to get them escorted back to their room. The four of them were still laughing at the fun they’d just had, when they kissed goodnight at the door.
