In the morning she had gone, the others too, but it was after ten o'clock so I had slept in longer than usual. I had a smirk as I thought why that might be. I told her I just felt very close to her and was a little jealous of someone else being in her bed last night, but I laughed to show I was only joking. She laughed too and said that she'd rather cuddle me any day.

I laughed again and said I was only teasing her. I added that I didn't mind if she did have a cuddle with her friend, she deserved some loving. Mum frowned a bit and looked at me as if she wasn't sure what it was I was saying. I decided that I'd pushed it enough for one day and changed the subject, talking about the news on TV that we were watching.
Over the next few evenings I made a point of re-establishing the practice of sitting on her legs for a cuddle but nothing much was said. It was Wednesday when she asked if I was OK about sharing my bed with her friend the other day.
"Yes, of course, she was no trouble and was gone before I woke up" I said, "and it's OK if you wanted to do it again. As long as it was only a woman, wouldn't want a man there!"
"Thank you darling. That was very sweet and of course I wouldn't bring a man to stay. In a year or so you'd probably prefer it if I did though!"

I put my mug down and said of course and lay over her lap as had become our habit again.
