After a nice leisurely dinner, and dessert, David played with Sharon for a few minutes, amazed at the delicate child, and then set about his duties. He grabbed the cold meatless-loaf, moved it to a paper plate and headed down the basement, flipping on the light as he started down the stairs.
Ellen was not in position when he entered her "room."
