"God damnit Riley!," I screamed as my brother ran to his room.
"I'm sorry Jenny, I'm sorry..."
"It's okay Riley, just please don't go in my room," I calmly responded.
Back then my brother was a typical brother. Big and annoying. But it was because we were so close. We would do everything together. Riley is two years older than me. And back then I was 15. I had long black hair and little bangs. Most of my family was tall, but I was small. My mom told me I was "petite". I was 5"4 with long legs. Even though I wasn't Miss Gorgeous, I was content and had my share of stares when walking through the halls.
Riley was one of the tall ones in my family. He was Mr. Popularity which I think I freeloaded off. He had soft brown hair and a muscular body. He attracted many girls. He wasn't a sleezeball though. He respected girls which obviously attracted them. They were always all over him, finding any way to touch him. But I wasn't complaining. It happens that when girls want your brother, they want you too. "Honey," my mom said as she knocked at my bedroom door.
"Yeah mom?"
"Well your dad and I thought it would be fun to take a vacation to Hawaii sometime soon."
"Oh my gosh mom! Are you serious!?" I yelled in excitement. A few moments after I yelled Riley came bursting in to see what all the commotion was about.
"What? What happened mom?" He gasped.
"Mom says we're going to Hawaii!" I breathed.
"Really mom?" He asked.
"Yes Riley, we're going to Hawaii in two days" my mother responded.
As soon as my mother told us we were off. We spent the whole two days packing and getting ready for the trip.
An hour before we were supposed to leave Riley came into my room while I was packing the rest of my belongings.
"Jenny?" He said
"What is it now Riley?" I sighed
"I just wanted to know..."
"Well!? Wanted to know what?" I said impatiently
"Can I sit next to you on the plane ride? I'm kinda scared," He admitted
These were the kinds of words that made me appreciate my brother. And made me feel regret of all the resent I presented towards him.
"Yeah Riley, I'd love to sit next to you," I smiled
"Thanks Jenny," Riley said as he gave me a quick hug and left.
Half an hour later we were ready to leave. The car was loaded and I had my cosmopolitans and cd player ready. I sat in the car and put my seat belt on as Riley's climbed in and sat next to me. It took about an hour to get to the airport and about half an hour of waiting. Then we finally climbed onto the plane.
"I got window!" I proclaimed
"You can have it, I hate heights," Riley said
Our seats were a couple of seats behind our parents. We put our stuff in the baggage compartments and buckled out seat belts. I helped Riley with his and felt his hand grab onto mine.
"It's ok Riley, you'll be fine"
We talked and talked and finally the voice box came on.
"Please fasten your seat belts, the plane will be taking off soon"
The plane slowly rolled down the runway and I felt Riley's hands tremble. I squeezed his hand.
"It's alright, it'll be fun" I whispered
As the plane sped up the grip of Riley's hand got stronger. The nose of the plane pointed straight towards the sky, we were flying. After an hour or so I finished looking at my magazine and the music on my CD was getting old. I stared out the window for what seemed like ages until I felt my eyelids get heavy. I tried to find a comfortable position against the window but it was hard and cold. So I lightly placed my head on Riley's shoulder and fell fast asleep. I woke up to the sound of the stewardess's voice.
"Would you like some peanuts sir?" the stewardess asked
"Um, I don't think I should have any," I heard Riley say "Oh but my sister loves peanuts. It'll be a gift from me to her, I'll take some." he exclaimed
I smiled and closed my eyes again. I adjusted my head on his warm shoulder. Soon after I woke up again to the voice in the voice box.
"We will be landing soon so please fasten your seat belts"
I lifted my head and looked at my belt. It was fastened. I looked over to Riley's seat and saw him fast asleep. I looked at his belt and saw that it was a bit loose. I gently took the belt and fastened it at his hips. After I fastened it I realized that Riley was getting a little hard. I lost my breath. I loosened his belt a little thinking that maybe the belt was a little too tight. As I adjusted the belt Riley woke up. It was a bit awkward to have someone wake up when your hands are touching their pelvis so I slightly blushed. He looked at my hands and then looked at me.
"Sorry, I was adjusting your belt," I desperately explained
"That's okay"
He seemed to noticed his boner and turned bright red. I laughed silently in my head and looked out the window. We were headed towards the airport below us. As we landed I got up and stretched. I stuck out my arms and arched my back. I thought I saw Riley stare but he quickly looked away as I looked at him. I pulled down my shirt and climbed through Riley's legs. I opened the compartment and had to stand on my tippy toes. Just then Riley stood up and looked down at me.
"Need some help?" He asked
"Yeah..." I sighed. I hated it when I needed help with "tall" things. It made me feel so short and weird from the rest of my family.
He wrapped his arm around my waist and carried me to the other side so he could open the compartment. I rolled my eyes since I knew he was showing off for the staring girls walking down the other isle.
"Which bag is yours Jen?" He asked
"The flower print navy one, back there" I said as I pointed
We walked out of the plane slowly and saw our parents waiting for us near the exit. We all walked to get our luggage. My mom got her suit case first and then Riley. Then I got my duffle bag and my dad got his.
"Well we have lots to do for the next week" my mom said momishly.
"Yeah lets hit the beach," my brother exclaimed
"For the babes?" my dad encouragingly said as my mom slapped his arm.
My dad was always for my brother being a stud and jockish like he was. He would always encourage my brother to try out for sports teams and ask girls out. He never dared do that with me. I was his daughter and it was going to stay like that until I died. Not his married or dating daughter, just plain daughter.
"No dad, for the surf. Well maybe a little for the babes," Riley said while smiling. Then he and Dad did their little "Son & Father" thing where my dad would rub Riley's head and laugh his fatherly laugh. My mom and I just rolled our eyes and walked behind them.
We loaded our stuff into a rented Jeep and made our way to the hotel.
"Mom do I get my own room?" I hopingly asked
"I'm sorry honey. Its busy around this time of year, you have to share with your brother," She exclaimed.
"Ugh but mom! He...smells," I said purposefully for him to here. We all laughed as Riley rolled his eyes at me.
We parked and checked into our hotel rooms. Riley and I raced to our room and annoyingly, he won. I kicked him hard in the shin but it barely tickled him. He grabbed me and swung me over his shoulder.
"Riley! I hate when you do that! Put me down you bully," I yelled
He carried me inside and gently put me down.
"Thank you," I said as I fixed my shirt. "Oh my gosh," I said as I threw my bag on the bed.
"What?" Riley asked
"There's only one bed" I said
"What? There has to be a mistake," He protested.
We told our parents and they called up the hotel service. They apologized and told us they had no other rooms available and promised us a free nights stay for our room. We were also promised a cot.
"You get the cot," I said
"Why me?" He whined
"Because, you're the man," I reminded
Riley whined some more but it was decided. I got the bed and he got the cot. We were all tired and settled down into our rooms. It was 10:30 at night and I was tired from the trip. I washed my face and put on my mini-boxers and a tank top. I walked out to get in bed when I saw Riley already fast asleep in it. I didn't want to be mean so I didn't wake him up, but I was sure to yell at him tomorrow. I climbed in slowly, making sure not wake him up. I turned off the lights and closed my eyes. I woke up to the alarm. It was set at 8:30. I opened my eyes and adjusted them to the sunlight pouring in through the window. Riley's left arm was intertwined with my left arm. I lifted my body and looked over to Riley. I shook his shoulder. Nothing happened. I shook his shoulder again a little harder but he didn't move.
"Riley?" I said
There was no response. I got a little worried and tugged at him.
"Ril-"
"ROOARRR!!!" Riley screamed as he pounced up at me and pinned me down.
"Oh my gosh!" I yelled "Riley! You jerk, you scared me"
"Awh were you worried about me?" he mimiced
"No..." I said as I rolled my eyes "Now get off of me, you're like twice my size you giant"
He rolled off of me and I climbed out of bed. I walked to the bathroom and did my morning ritual. I wore a white halter which bared a little belly and some mini shorts. I put on some lip gloss and put on my flip flops.
"Riley are you ready?" I asked
"Yeah hold on" He said
After he got his sandals on we walked out of the door and knocked on our parents door. Then all of a sudden we heard a muffled moan.
"Uh..." I surprisingly breathed
There was grunt and Riley started laughing.
"That is so not funny Riley, it's so gross" I said disgustingly
"Oh grow up, they're fucking get over it" He smiled
"We'll just hang out today since they're...busy" I said looking at our parent's door.
Riley gave me a piggy back ride down to the lobby where I called up my parents with my cell phone. I sat on a bench next to Riley as he tied my loosened halter string.
"Hello?" my mother panted
"Uhm, mommy?" I queity sad
"Oh honey, your father and I won't be able to make it. We have our plans so you two can go do whatever today. Take the jeep if you want" she said
My mom hung up before I could say bye.
"Mom says we can take the jeep and do whatever we want today"I exclaimed
"Good, we'll hit the bar later on tonight" He said with his bright smile.
I smiled back as be got up to leave. I jumped on his back as he galloped to the car. We drove around the beaches and shopped around. Riley and I took our bathing suits out of the remaining suitcase and headed towards the beach. I wore a small black string bikini while Riley slipped on his trunks. We parked the car, got our towels and sunscreen and walked to the shoreline. I picked out a good spot to tan and laid my towel down next to Riley's.
