Stubble
The fever broke. A long night, sweating, having the heat of my body pour out, drenching me, soaking my pillows, my sheets. A long night, my body writhing in discomfort as the heat escapes and slowly the haze lifts. Awake. Drenched. Still unsteady as I stand and look in the mirror. A shower should help, but it doesn’t.
