All he said to her at the time was, “Ah well. I suppose it’s the way of the world nowadays.” She knew that he would have preferred them to get married before getting to that stage in their relationship but she and Steve both knew that they were not ready for that kind of commitment yet.
Her grandfather, God rest his soul, was more forthright in his opinion. “In my day, lad, a man would put a ring on a girl’s finger before even putting his hand on her knee,” he had said to Steve, after taking him to one side. Ten years on, with the relationship producing two boys of eight and six, they had finally tied that knot.
A tear filled her eyes as she watched the coach slowly pull away to take them to the airport for their flight back home. She squeezed Steve’s hand and he turned and smiled at her; this was their time now. After marrying two days earlier on the beach at Punta Cana two weeks of honeymoon now awaited them. What made it even more special was that this was the first time in eight years that they had holidayed on their own.
As they turned to head back into the hotel she suddenly remembered that the suitcase containing her wedding dress and Steve’s Groom outfit was still in their room. Her mum was supposed to be taking it back with her. She turned and looked back and saw the coach in the distance. ‘Just have to take it back with us now,’ she said to herself.
“Fancy a cocktail?” Steve asked her.

“I think we had better go,” Steve said, remembering that one or two other hotel guests had tried to gatecrash their own wedding reception and the best man had to ask them to leave.
They stood up to go when suddenly a woman came into the room. They quickly recognised her as the Registrar that had married them. “Will the wedding party please follow me.” She called out before turning and leaving the room. They sat back down again but a couple turned to them. “Come on,” the woman said. “This will be very exciting.”
Jayne looked at Steve. He shrugged his shoulders and stood up. Moments later they found themselves following the couple out of the room. Steve shrugged his shoulders again and smiled at her as they followed them up to the next floor and into a small conference room. The room had about five rows of chairs ten deep and at one end of the room was a long table with documents on it. The Registrar moved around to the back of the table. “Please be seated,” she said.
As Steve and Jayne were the last ones in the room they joined the couple that had brought them in and sat down in the back row. Jayne looked around with disappointment. Though they had married on the beach their area had stands decked with flowers.
“Ladies and Gentlemen,” the Registrar began, “we are gathered here today to witness the Cuckold Wedding of Tom and Sandra Harper from Houston, Texas.”

“I do.”

Tom hesitated for a moment before saying. “I do and I will.”

Tom nervously took Sandra’s outstretched hand removed her wedding ring.
The Registrar then turned back to the bride and the two men standing either side of her. “You may go and consummate the cuckold marriage,” she told them.

“I take it that you are not in the lifestyle then?” the man said.
“No,” Jayne said adamantly. “I had never even heard of it until now.”
“Have you been married long?” The woman asked.
“A couple of days.”
“But we have lived together for quite a few years.” Steve chipped in.
The woman patted Jayne’s knee. “You should try it love,” she told her. “I highly recommend it.”
“Yes,” the man with her said. “It certainly keeps a husband on his toes. It keeps me on mine anyway.”
The appearance of the Registrar at their side suddenly interrupted their conversation and the couple left. “It’s Steve and Jayne isn’t it?”
They both acknowledged her and then got into a short conversation with her about cuckold marriage ceremonies. “Well, if ever you are interested you know where to find me and I can recommend a few gentlemen who would only be too willing to help you consummate it.”
Steve noticed that a side door had been opened up leading into a small bar. “Do you fancy a drink?”
“Bloody right I do,” Jayne responded. “I need one after all that.”
They found a quiet table to themselves and sat talking quietly and drinking. “Do you think that we should try and sneak out?” Steve asked.
Jayne shook her head. “I suppose we should get out of here but I’m dying to see what happens next.”
They both looked up as they noticed the return of the Registrar with a tall, broad shouldered black male. They were looking in their direction and suddenly the man started to walk towards them. The Registrar turned and walked away.
“Congratulations to you both,” he said to them as he held out his hand towards Jayne. She stood up and he gave her a kiss on the cheek before offering his hand to Steve. They shook hands and sat down as he introduced himself as Marvyn.
“I understand that this is your first cuckold wedding?”
They both nodded. “It’s quite a popular venue here,” he told them. “It’s probably because a lot of conventional marriages take place here too.”

Jayne nodded. It was obvious that the Registrar had been talking to him about them.
“Now’s a good a time as any to get into the lifestyle,” Marvyn smiled. “Start as you mean to go on.”
Jayne laughed. “And I suppose that you would be offering your services, so to speak, if we did decide to get into it?”
Steve adjusted his posture in his seat nervously.
Marvyn shrugged his shoulders. “Well, I would humbly give up my precious time if required,” he responded holding his hand to his heart. “It would be a sacrifice that I would gladly make to help you two newlyweds on your way.”
Jayne laughed again. “A humble sacrifice, hey?”
Steve smiled as Marvyn laughed as well. ‘He certainly is a charmer.’ He thought to himself. His glass was nearly empty and so was Jayne’s so he stood up to go to the bar and offered Marvyn a drink. “A small beer will do me please.”
Steve left them to talk. From time to time he glanced over at them as he waited to get served. Jayne laughed at times and Marvyn was leaning forward to get her full attention. He was obviously interested in her and her response told him that feelings were mutual. At one point he looked away and caught the attention of the husband of the wife was upstairs somewhere with two other men. The man smiled at him. He seemed quite happy.
His thoughts turned to the man’s wife again. He could visualise her on a bed somewhere with the two men either side of her. He shrugged his shoulders. “I suppose it takes all sorts, as they say.”
“You don’t fancy the idea yourself then?”
Steve shook his head.
“What if Jayne was keen on the idea?”
Steve laughed nervously wondering if she had said something to Marvyn. “I... I doubt if she would ever consider it.”
Marvyn smiled. “I get the feeling that she would do it with the right person.”
Another nervous laugh escaped for Steve’s mouth. “No, I just can’t see it happening,” he responded shaking his head.
Marvyn leaned forward. “I think she would, Steve,” he contradicted quietly. “I think if you were to agree to it she would go through the ceremony as well.”
“She... she said that to you, did she?”
Marvyn smiled. “That’s a conversation you should have with her but I reckon she would love to do it,” he responded. “Just as a one off though. I don’t think she would want to follow the lifestyle itself but to go through the ceremony... yes I’m sure she would like to.”
Steve never got the chance to discuss it with her when she returned. Marvyn remained with them and talked about himself. He had started out as a kid from the Bronx and joined a football team. With the money had made from the sport he went into business selling sports equipment and clothing and had done quite well for himself. He had been briefly married for a couple of years and had a daughter. Jayne asked him if he had a girlfriend.
He laughed, “Just OMW’s at the moment.”
“OMW’s?”
“Other men’s wives,” he responded. “Much less complicated and very enjoyable.”

Marvyn nodded, returning her smile.

The Registrar also entered the room just as they sat down and she walked round to the front of the table. “Will you please join me, Tom and Sandra?” she said. ”You as well please, Darius and Henry.”
Moments later all four stood at the table facing the Registrar.
“Darius and Henry,” she said. “Have you satisfactorily enjoyed sexual intercourse with Sandra Harper?”
The two of them smiled. “We certainly have,” they replied in unison.

Tom turned to Darius and Henry in turn, smiled and shook their hands before turning to Sandra and kissing her firmly on the lips.

There were still squeals of delight as she turned to face him, still grasping the garter. “It’s your turn next, love,” said a familiar voice from beside him.
Steve turned around to see the smiling face of the woman that had brought them into the room earlier. “It’s your turn next to become a cuckolded husband.
