For your entire life, you've thought of your family as pretty normal. Kaitlin and Robert Talbot, both in their late forties, both with standard but boring 9-5 office-type jobs. Two kids, Jessica and Andy, 21 and 19, respectively, college dropout and aspiring college dropout.
You know, the American dream.
Then Robert becomes the key witness in a murder by a big-time member of your city's organized crime network. His testimony is key to putting this criminal behind bars. It also puts a target on his head, and the heads of his family.
Enter WITSEX: Witness Security Xtreme. Yeah, you laughed when you heard the acronym too, and then again when they spelled it out. But that's the FBI for you.
WITSEX is the prototype successor to WITSEC. Same general premise, but new and expanded powers for the agents supervising the program, state-of-the-art technology to help alter and adjust subjects' identities, and--so it's hoped--a better chance of survival as well as a normal life.
What you don't know--yet--is why the program is labelled "Xtreme." But you're about to find out.
This is your last day as a member of the Talbot family. You're about to meet with the intake agent.

A middle-aged, primly but attractively dressed agent enters the meeting room. "I am Special Agent DeMastro, your liaison during the intake process."
She hits a control on the computer, and the projector screen springs to life.
"WITSEX is experimental. But don't worry--you're not the first to go through the process, and we have never had any adverse results.
"The relocation and reidentification process takes about a month. During this time, we lay the groundwork for your new identities while you undergo the accompanying procedures."
"Procedures?" asks Kaitlin.
Agent DeMastro nods and moves to another slide. "This is where WITSEX departs from its predecessor program. In Wit-Sec, you got a new hairstyle, maybe. Started wearing different clothes. New job. You kept a low profile. Often, this was sufficient. But many of our subjects find the stress of relocating and adjusting to a new identity is just too much to handle. They go through depression. They try to make contact with old acquaintances. It often gets messy.
"We've been authorized to use some highly-advanced, very classified technology from our friends at the Department of Defense. We get results; they get test data from healthy American bodies." DeMastro smiles a totally-not-reassuring smile. "Efficiency."
Next slide. Generic human forms, pictures of what looks like surgery. "With WITSEX, you don't just get a new hairstyle and wardrobe. You get a new you." She launches into a spiel about "cutting-edge cosmetic surgery" and begins throwing around terms like "nano-robotic, genetic, and hormonal therapy" and you feel your eyes glazing over as your brain attempts to escape through your ears. None of this makes any sense to you. But you get the gist of it: they're going to give you and your family a total physical makeover.
Next slide. "It doesn't stop there. The most effective subject of witness protection? Someone who doesn't know they're in witness protection. Behaviour and memory modification procedures allow us to remove any traces of knowledge of your membership in this program, while simultaneously reinforcing your new identities."
"Wait, wait wait," Robert holds up his hands. "You're going to brainwash us? Wipe our memories? This isn't want I agreed to!"
"Actually, Mr. Talbot, you'll find that you did. All of you signed the consent forms and waivers. You really should read that fine print. But to mollify you: we can't wipe your memory per se. You will still be … you. We just condition you to believe you've always been your new identity, and we block any memories of entering witness protection. You'll still remember learning to ride a bike, your first kiss, your first frolic with Mrs. Talbot here. It'll just be that you remember it as your new identity, with no clue that you changed names."
Robert frowns, and the expressions on everyone else's faces are similar. But then Jessica speaks up. She has always harboured some insecurities about her body. There might be an upside to this after all...
Jessica says, "So if I understand this correctly, we're getting a makeover. Do we get to ... uh ... choose our new appearances?"
DeMastro smiles again. "You will have some input, yes, but we have a team of experts who will ensure that your family's appearances are consistent with each other and with the identities we've built for you. And you will all be ... baseline. We aren't in the business of turning people into supermodels and rock stars here."
Reader's Note: The first part of the plot progresses similarly for all four members of the Talbot family. After you choose your protagonist, you will get to choose their physical/mental transformations. This is where the kink (in both senses of the word) comes into play. Your choice of protagonist determines what options you have, as far as scenarios go, for how weird it might get. From there, the story will diverge as writers see fit....
