Violet Rose thought that life, as she knew it anyways, was over as she stood there completely numb, in the freezing cold mist. The young blonde beauty watched, as tears slowly ran down her rosy red cheeks, as her mother's pearl white coffin was slowly lowered into the ground.
Darren, her step father, stood next to her trying to act as if he was sad, but all he could think about was the insurance money he would soon be collecting from Eva's life insurance policy. He already had his whole new life planned out, and it didn't include his irritating little burden of a step daughter. A creepy smirk appeared on his face as they began to cover her coffin with dirt. Nobody else was around. Everyone else in her life was now gone. Now Violet had absolutely nobody.
"Come on kid, I'll buy you some ice cream," Darren said to her, as they walked to the car.
He drove while Violet sat next to him in the passenger seat. She felt completely numb inside. She knew this day was coming, she had seen her mother struggle with cancer over the last few years. She knew one day she would die, leaving the just turned eighteen year old Violet all alone in the world. Sure, she had her step father, but he was not as nice as he would like you to believe.
They pull into the parking lot of the ice cream shop, and Darren's cell phone rings. "Yes? Yes. She is. After nine? Sounds good," he said, then hung up.
Violet had no idea what that was about, and at that moment, she didn't care. She was just in a state of shock, it's like she was in a daze. Darren turned to look at her. She didn't look too good. This was going to be easier than he thought.
"Strawberry right?" he asked her with a sinister grin on his face.
She just sat there looking down, her eyes all glassed over.
"Violet."
Nothing, she was just totally zoned out.
"Violet!"
She finally snapped out of it. She slowly turned her head to look at him.
"You like strawberry right?"
She shook her head no. She was actually allergic to strawberries. They made her body break out with tiny red bumps for a whole day anytime she eats them.
"No thank you?"
"Then what the hell flavor do you want?" he asked annoyed.
"I don't want anything, thank you," she replied quietly then looked down.
"FINE!" he replied in an angry voice, then slammed the car door and walked away towards the ice cream shop. She watched him as he got some ice cream, then started talking on his phone. She could read his lips roughly.
"That stupid bitch is getting on my fucking nerves."
She thought that was what he said. Was he talking about her? What the fuck did she do now? He was always angry at her for no reason. Whatever! She didn't care right now. All she wanted was to just go home, get into bed, and cry into her pillow for the next few days. Darren came back to the car after a while and he drove them back home without saying a word to her.
Violet spent the rest of the day in her bed. She cried and slept. She missed her mom so much. She knew her life would never be the same again, and she was right, but she had no idea just how crazy it was about to get.
At nine o'clock that night, two big men arrived and met with Violet's step father. The deal was made, and Violet had been sold to the highest bidder who lived somewhere on an island outside the United States. The bidder's men were here to collect Violet, and escort her to her new home. Darren collected the fifty thousand dollars in cash, then fled from the home as the men walked towards her room to collect her.
They walked into the young girls room. Montoya, who was the bigger of the two guys, hated this particular part of the job. He loved young women, and did not enjoy scaring them, or hurting them, but sometimes his job called for it. Violet was sleeping, so it was rather easy for them to bind her hands and feet. Then they covered her mouth with tape, right before Montoya picked her up into his strong arms, and carried her out to the limo. As soon as she was scooped up by this large man's arms, she woke up, and began to scream and struggle, but it was no use. She was tied up so tightly, she could barely move, in fact, it hurt to move.
Montoya said to her in his very deep voice, "Stop fighting, we're not here to hurt you."
Violet had no idea what was going on, but she quickly became tired and stopped struggling. She was carefully put into a limo, driven to the airport, then carried into a private jet. She was so nervous, and was trembling in fear. Who the hell were these men? Why was she on a private plane? Where were they taking her? Once the jet was in the air Montoya walked over to her. She looked at him. He was a very scary, big muscular man, with dark golden brown skin and big brown eyes. He knelt down next to her.
"Violet? I am going to untie you now."
Then she watched, as he pulled out a big gun from behind him. He continued to talk in his deep scary voice.
"Don't do anything stupid, understand?"
Violet was terrified. She had never seen a gun in her life. Her heart was pounding. She quickly shook her head yes.
"Good girl," he said quietly, then he slowly removed the tape from her mouth, then untied her hands and feet.
Violet rubbed her wrists, as she cautiously looked at the large man still kneeling in front of her. He was big, and very scary, but at the same time, there was something honorable about him. It helped that he was quite handsome. She sensed that he wasn't trying to hurt her, he was just doing his job, but where was he taking her? Who was his Boss?
"Who are you? Where am I going?" she asked with a soft shy voice.
Montoya looked at her with a sad concerned look in his eyes. He knew she had to be terrified. He wished he could take her fear and worries away, but it wasn't his job to fill her in on her fate.
"My name is Montoya. You've been purchased by my Boss. It's my job to make sure you get to his secluded mansion, in perfect condition."
