Setting:
Tanbeira (a provincial city somewhere in Eastern Europe. Early 2020s).
The Hyatt hotel complex, with it’s huge modern conference hall, was being used by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a testing centre during the deadly pandemic. But last night the UN security detail was forced to close the hotel complex when gunfire erupted and panic spread.
During the night there was a media blackout and soon water and electricity were cut to the hotel. Paramilitary forces were seen amongst the crowds but instead of dispersion their mission seemed to be to encourage a coup against the government and UN.
The armed crowds began to riot and several attempts to storm the hotel complex where made but successfully repelled.
The UN troops on the ground floor were doing their best to hold back the local militia until the promised helivac arrived at dawn
Sunrise revealed tens of dead bodies littering the streets outside the hotel. Several UN soldiers had also lost their lives overnignt.
Suddenly your heart rises when you hear the rotors and see a Chinook helicopter arrive under close protection from two Apache gunships.
The armed thugs run for cover as the Apaches fly low to the ground as a show of strength. Yet it’s not enough as they attract heavy machine gun fire from rooftops and burning barricades.
The Apaches’ respond in kind, and rain down hot lead from their chain guns.
In short, it’s a massacre on the ground.
The gunships then circle the hotel in close proximity deterring any further groundfire.
But as the chinook makes its final approach onto the roof of the Hyatt you see two white streaks coming from a nearby shopping mall, followed by a third and fourth.
They were not aimed at the Apache escorts but at the twin-rotor transport helicopter.
Only one RPG scores a hit, but it’s on the tail engine of the chinook, causing it to fall into a spin. It crashed onto roof and bursts into flames. The whole hotel shakes and it feels like the hole building is to collapse.
To add to problems now the hotel is on fire.
You and everyone else on your floor lose all hope.
For now, you have cover from the Apaches, and the protection of two platoons of German UN soldiers.
You know Captain Horst had asked for an armed column but the pools of smoke on horizon suggests that too is proving problematic.

Career soldier. After Major Tomaz was killed earlier in the morning, Horst took command of the defence of the hotel. Under his command, he has forty riflemen including six walking injured, a medic and sniper. He has also taken charge of 6 armed security staff from Hyatt. Unfortunately, he has already lost three men and his unit is low on ammunition. Tall, blond and blue eyed veteran.
Dr Jenna Patel 33
Works for the World Health Organisation and head of the testing facility. British Indian. Tall with brown skin and long black hair. Buxom. Unhappily married but has devoted her life to medicine. Has had sex with Mr Duval during the trip.
Professor William Duval 49.
Works for the World Health Organisation. Lead investigator. Canadian. Handsome weathered face Married. But has been having a secret affair with several women. Most recent sexual conquest is Dr Patel .
The Paxton Family.
Father: ames 52, short and stocky. Salt and pepper hair. James is a director at Paxton Kline Pharmaceutical company which was testing new equipment on site. Unfounded rumours in the city that Paxton Kine was using local residents as human lab rats - are blamed for the riots. Brought his family as a PR stunt to show locals they had nothing to fear.
Wife: Helen 43, Tall blone trophy wife. Former swimwear model. Fake tits and long legs. Loves James' wallet.
Daughter: Millie 18 About to head off for uni. Tall slim brunette.. Good looking.
