Months went on and Autumn turned to Winter but still every day, John would sit at the window across from the main entrance to The Metropolis Daily Planet. He was working on a planned fantasy trilogy but right now he was sat with his fingers poised and hovering over the keyboard of his laptop. But it had been three months since he watched her walk past, even longer still since he coughed up enough courage to ask her out for a drink and with each passing day after the day that shook the world, he grew more and more concerned for her. John sat staring blankly into the street, the whole point of looking out for Lois, lost as he sat and daydreamed, when suddenly he was awoken from his stupor as a fist rattled on the window in front of him. With a smile and gratitude in his wave, John patted the seat next to him for Lana to join him.
“Hey John.” she smiled her pearly white teeth and holding onto his shoulder as she took her seat “You still waiting?” she half winked before turning her attention to the barista. “Espresso please.”
