Author's Notes: This story is inspired by the story Irresistable by Robopoop. I realized that this was a good concept that no one has touch for over 4 years and I wanted to expand upon it. I pulled myself out of bed on a warm summer weekend in the three room apartment I borrowed from an aunt. After I was awake enough not to trip over my own feet, I went on my normal morning routine. I shocked myself alert with a cold shower since I couldn’t afford heating. Drest in normal, casual clothes because I couldn’t afford anything better. Made breakfast for me alone, with some extra strong coffee to fight the horrible hangover I was having. Went to pick up the mail to read it latter, probably filled with bills I could barely afford.
Last night I drank myself half way to the grave, trying to forget over the loneliness I was having. I drank myself away when I wasn’t able to get a date on a Friday night in the middle of L.A., not even a quick fuck or a drunken make up with a waisted chick. Nothing. I wasn’t even allowed inside the bar, it didn’t matter that today was my birthday.
It wasn’t like I was an ugly guy or something. Short dark brown hair. Almond color eyes. Somewhat tanned skin tone. 5’10” in height. Enough muscle that if I flexed my arm and poke it I would feel something there. Constantly shaved beard. I was somewhere between ‘Your average Joe’ and ‘Not too shabby’ on the hotness scale, if I do say so myself. My only weak point was my gut, not that I was fat, I worked out that area often enough to make sure it didn’t reach that far. You see, I drank a lot and my belly insisted on showing it.
I was just some guy that wanted to make a living in this hot beach swept city after 2 years of living on my own.
There was still no place like L.A. though. Where else would you find this amount of shit going on? Wherever it was on a little black corner or a porcelain condo by the beach, you can always notice weird things going on all around, even working odd jobs throughout town. People throwing lots and lots of money around.
Money I could never get my hands on.
With that depressing thought I gulped down that last of my coffee. Whatever was left of my hangover was replaced with a bitching burn in my throat.
“Oh, fuck!” I hissed after I was able to speak again. I needed something to distract me from the coffee burn, mind over body and all that. I hadn’t check out the mail yet, it would have to do.
Just like I had thought there were more bills than anything else. I thanked God above that I didn’t have to pay all of them, some were for my aunt since this was technically her apartment. Hehe, sucker.
After going over all the stuff that would most definitely give my wallet a liposuction, there was only one letter left. A pretty weird one. The envelope was blue and made of a very smooth and expensive material that none of my friends or family would ever bother buying. It was closed with silver wax and a frilly symbol. On the other side was the address and name, that’s when I saw the delivery address. It wasn’t mine. I should have known that this letter was way too fancy for me.
The postal service had really gone to hell.
This left me with a predicament. This letter hadn’t been meant for me... buuuuut, they had deliver it to my home. Did that turn it into my letter?
