We all wake up about the same time and I run into the bathroom and get out of the ladies’ way so they can get ready for the day. Sis and Mandy have to go into their part time jobs again today, but their managers were cool enough to give them time to help earlier in the week. They get ready and file past me and Becky and give us both hugs and kisses and say, “Be back around 4pm, have a good day you two!”
I look over at Becky and ask her, “What would you like to do today hon?”
She thinks about it and then says, “Nothing really, I just want to be here and relax with you and have a day were nothing is going to come crashing in on my head…Is that ok with you hon?’

Sis and Mandy show up at about the same time and come in together and see us half laying there on the couch and sleeping while holding on to each other. Mandy comes over and gives me a kiss on the cheek and I wake up with a start and jolt Becky awake…
Mandy says, “I am sorry you guys, you just looked so peaceful and content there, I wanted to give you a kiss…”
Becky looks over at me, “I guess I fell asleep and d**g you down with me eh?” She laughs a little…
“It would appear that way hon. Its ok, I think it did you some good to just be able to lay there knowing nothing was going to happen…I obviously did not mind”. And I smile at her.
The girls reappear in some shorts and tops and Mandy sits in the chair over by me and Sis sits down near Becky’s feet and puts her legs up on her lap.
They both start filling us in on their days at work and the stupidity they were dealing with there and we all just enjoy being together and talking.
Becky decides to tell the girls she is going to sell the house and was thinking she might try to get a place that would be big enough for all of them to stay with her if they wanted. They loved the idea and that started up a whole new line of talking that had the girls pretty excited and looking forward to seeing what Becky decided.
I was sitting there listening and paying attention, but in the back of my mind I knew I was getting close and in about 7 days I was out of here on a plane and going halfway around the world to start out my army career. That started weighing on me now.
Becky looks over and knows what my mind is on instantly…having deployed herself several times she has gone through the same things. She lets it go for now but makes a note of it and will talk to me about it soon.
Mandy and I are all curled in some type of knot she liked and thought felt good, so we just mindlessly watch some shows on TV and let the night slip away. Mandy and I ended up passing out on the couch and Becky and Sis went to their rooms and called it a night after they put a blanket over us.
We go through the morning work routine for the girls, as they both have to go in again to make up for one of the days, they both were off, and they head out the door the customary way.
Becky and I finish cleaning up and she disappears into the bedroom. I come in after a few minutes and see her sitting there on the bed and I go over to the other side and sit down next to her. She closes the book she was reading and without saying a word just starts kissing me and rubbing her hands all over my body.
I am smart enough at this point to know she is feeling frisky and wants to have sex, so I start returning the favors she is giving me and we don’t say a word, just enjoy each other’s bodies and end up completely naked somehow. “Good hon, I am going to talk to the girls when they get home and over the next few days each of them will do the same thing with you, so you have that special memory of each of us with you and you can draw on it and use it to get you through the hard times…ok Honey?”
As promised over the next couple of days as I was getting ever closer to leaving, first Sis and then Mandy 2 days before I was going down to the airport found the quiet time that Becky had set up for us and we repeated exactly what Becky and I had done with each other. It was very intense with Mandy and I am sure that was because of us having that added commitment to each other, but they are memories I still carry with me today and draw on at incredibly stressful times.
Mom and Dad of course took us all out to dinner over the final 3-4 days before I left and had Becky come along with us too, the girls had told them what she had been through with her now dead hubby. So, the three most important women in my life were accepted by Mom and Dad of course and that made things much easier, not having to exclude Becky from all of our family time.
It was now the day I was leaving and that morning I had to say my goodbyes to Sis and Becky at the apartment for obvious reasons, as mom and dad were going to be there at the gate too and we did not want to start that drama up, right as I was leaving. Mandy was not a problem and was grateful that she would be able to be the one to give me my last hug, and kiss before I got on the plane and headed out. I savored that final hug and kiss from her for quite a while and finally the gate person told me, you have to board now sir…I gave her one last kiss and squeeze and walked down the jet way to see what the future held for me…
~Epilog~
The flight to Korea was not fun, I had to fly in my Class A’s because that was on the orders…15 hours on the same plane…the only saving grace was I ended up sitting next to an old salty dog Sergeant Major that could tell by the look on my face this was my first overseas duty assignment and he kept me well lubricated with booze from the cart the flight attendant kept bringing by.
We talked about his 30 years in the Army and he did give me a few pointers on how to survive in Korea as a Private…1) Keep your head down and do your job, you are a private, you do not know anything, just do what your fire team leader and squad leader tell you to do and you will make it out fine. 2) Do not use booze to get through it (present situation excepted) you will just end up drunk and in more trouble than you want to think about. 3) Although it is legal there, do not use the brothels either…a nice warm spot might sound good at the time…but it never turns out well in the end, trust me…
At some point he pulls out his wallet and shows me the picture of his wife and k**s and I pull out my wallet and show him the pic of Mandy that she gave me right before I left. She told me it was to keep me inspired to get back home. It was the photo they had done for the gymnastics team at the College her and Sis went to and she looked amazing…as she always did, but standing there in tights with this huge ‘show’ smile on and her hands in the air like she had just dismounted…it was a pretty good pic to say the least done by a professional photographer…
The Sergeant Major looks at me, lowers his glasses and looks at the picture and then at me again…” This is your girlfriend Private?”
“yes, Sergeant Major, she is a few years older than I am, but somehow by the grace of god I managed to end up as her boyfriend…”
“Son listen to me good…you get this tour done and you get back stateside and you marry this little angel…she is stunning, and you will be a happy man for the rest of your life…Understand Private?”

Meanwhile back in the states; Becky, Mandy, and Sis were there at the house that first night I left and each doing up a special letter and package to send to me one at a time that would arrive the first week I was there, the third week I was there, and then the sixth week I was there. I did not know anything about this at the time of course…but Becky was looking out for me again.
The first letter arrives at my barracks the day I show up from the Repo Depo at my new duty assignment with the 2nd ID (The Indian Head) up on the DMZ of course, where quite a few MP’s would be sent on a regular basis as they in processed this country. It was very cool getting to my assignment and there was a rather large manila envelope for me… They did mail call and the Platoon Sergeant was trying to figure out who this was and then remembered he had a newbie in just today…he calls me over to his office and says, “Is this you Private?”
Yes Sargent, but I did not think I would get anything this fast, I just got in country”.
He looks at it and says, “It would appear a Miss Amanda must think very highly of you to make sure you got something this early in your deployment soldier…might want to keep a hold of that one boy”.
I smile and of course show him the picture…He damn near falls out of his chair… “Damn Son, you better keep her happy!”
I head up to my room in the barracks with 3 other privates of course and get my locker and everything squared away for the inevitable inspection by the Squad Leader and then lay down on my bunk and open the envelope. Hum, there was a small box with a brown wrapper on it and it says, “read the letter first silly!” So, I open it up and Mandy wrote me a nice letter, wishing me luck starting out on my new life and hoping everything turns out exactly as I want it to. I won’t bother you with the 3 pages of other things she wrote, that were for us. At the very bottom though, it says…MAKE SURE YOU OPEN THIS BOX ALONE!!! NO EXCEPTIONS UNDERSTAND PRIVATE?!?!
Well the only privacy in this joint is in the shitter…so I head over there and pull it out of my cargo pocket and carefully open it. Holy shit, she sent me the Panties she was wearing that morning I left…damn girl you are going to get me killed…I think fast…ok I have the personal drawer in my locker with the lock on it…I have to get this in there fast…I close it back up and go back to the room and open up my locker and get the lock off the private drawer and get it in there and locked right as the Squad Leader comes in to inspect my shit…whew…that was close! We are all inspected, and the squad leader did not say it at the time but was impressed that I was the only one who actually got my shit together and squared away before going to sleep. Thank god; the other three guys were whining about having to do latrine duty and be up before everyone else to get the armory ready and everything.
At least I passed the first test, of which I was sure there were going to be a few million more in the first few weeks to see if you were for real or one of those posers…That is how Korea started out for me, and then it was an endless series of tests, and eventually being promoted to PFC and taking charge of my own fire team. A big step, but only the first of many.
My third week in country starts out, pretty much like the other two, get up, PT, eat, get your uniform on and prepare for the flogging by everyone else in the company that is a higher rank that you are…It was a Monday and the customary mail call at our platoon area, I was not expecting anything, but to my surprise there was my name getting yelled out by the platoon daddy. I jump up and get another large manila envelope…remembering what happened last time I quickly opened it and got the box out and stuffed it in my cargo pocket.
Everyone in my squad is egging me on telling me to let them know who it was from and tell them something about back home in the real world…I finally say ok. This one was from Sis…oh lord I better be careful here! It was a nice letter telling me about how her and Mandy and Becky were moving into a nice place they all found and were going to stay together. This of course got a few million questions…who is Mandy, Who is Becky...on and on…So there was a graduation picture from Sis that they had just done for their school of medicine class and I take it out and show everyone…to all the cat calls and damn Private, I need to meet your Sister…and I figure if I am going to get shit about how cute my sister is, might as well crush them all with the pic of Mandy and show them her picture too…
My Squad Leader comes over and looks at Sis and then at Mandy and looks at me and says, “you have something to live for Private, just keep doing your job and get back home and marry that cute little thing…” Mandy seems to have that effect on just about everyone I show her picture too…So that made the Third week there a little more interesting as I kept getting asked to see pictures of my Sis and Mandy on a regular basis.
Yep you guessed it, the box was a pair of Sis panties…these women…but I was prepared this time and was able to get it stowed away without any issues.
A few more weeks drone by, and we are now at week six in country and all the guys I was assigned with are finally starting to accept me as one of the guys and the ribbing is not as intense and I am actually getting invited out with them on passes when we get them. Things are starting to get into a routine, and I feel like I am finally settled in.
At mail call today I get another manila envelope, by this time the guys have the routine down and they all gather around to see what beautiful woman is sending me pictures and letters today…I open it and pretty sure this one is going to be Becky, so I make sure I stash the little box before anyone sees me. I am careful pulling out the letter, because I am not sure what type of pic Becky might send me…lol I read the letter and let the guys know the girls are all moved in and settled now and things are going good. I look in for the picture and there is one, I slide it down slowly and see there is one of Becky when she was about 23, 24 right before she joined the Army Nursing corps. She is in her cap and gown from her college at graduation…She is just as hot now, but god damn she was a sexy thing.
I pull it out and every one of them look at me and say, who in the hell is that amazing beauty? I told them that is Becky…all of their mouths hit the floor and are looking at her, my assistant Squad Leader comes over and looks and says, “Holy Fuck Private, you need to move to Utah or something…no way in the world I would not marry her and Mandy on the spot…you have guns at home right? You gonna need em boy!”
I got my special package stowed away without any issues and noticed that they were the ones she wore that morning when we did not say anything and I was lost in that time again…and then remembered what she told me…”when your in a rough spot just think about this and drive through it, we will be here.”
I ended up putting all of their pictures in my locker above the mirror, so I could see each them last thing before I headed out on our long days of hell. All the guys in my room would kiss their hands and smack one of them on our way out the door…If they only knew…
At the six month point to my shock and surprise I was actually promoted to PFC (E3) and that meant I was now going to be tested even more…my Squad leader put me in charge of fire team 4, I was now leading guys about the same age as I was and still learning myself. Big step, but a huge responsibility too. Little did I know at the time, in about a month there would be a remarkably interesting chain of events that would happen for me.
