Again, she asked about John. She said she missed working with him, after he'd applied for and got a post elsewhere in the hospital. I told her that he'd been having a bit of a rough time too, and though he and Pat were still together, their relationship was certainly strained.
I held back from telling her that in order to save their own marriage, Pat had insisted John had a vasectomy.
Seems some secret's are destined to come out into the open ,no matter how hard people try to conceal them...
