My uncle was getting married at 32 and she was still 5 years younger than him, so I guess there was a maximum of 8-9 years of age difference between me and her and maybe that helped. She even told me how nervous she was and she was so glad that at least I will be there in her “New house” to talk to.
After this, I saw her on the wedding day. When I along with my cousins went on stage to have our pics clicked, I wished her and I even introduced her to all my cousins. The next day I woke up late and went to see her late in the afternoon along with my cousin sister. She was sitting alone in her room.
Seeing me, she had a smile on her face and welcomed us. We shared a chocolate that she took out from her gifts stacked on the table and talked for some 15-20 mins. I was explaining her the family hierarchy and all!
Soon after all the relatives started going back and after a few days, the house was secluded again.
I had decided to stay back as it was still summer holidays for me. In our home, it is customary for the newly wed to stay at her in law’s place for a while before my uncle could take her with him. So my uncle also left soon after to join his office and was scheduled to return 10 days later. So it was just me, her and my grandparents in the house now.
We used to get a lot of free time in the afternoon where I used to keep chatting with her. My grandparents were also happy that she was not getting bored here. In the evenings, she used to talk to my uncle for an hour daily and I used to tease her once she was done and she would blush and I would go pull her cheeks.
We had become a lot comfortable with each other and she used to tell me how my uncle was so unromantic and she had to do all the talking over the phone. Later we would joke about ways to get him to express!
She used to tell me how she loved the rain. One day out of nowhere, it got really windy in the afternoon. I asked her to come to the terrace as the weather was really lovely.We were enjoying the weather and chatting as usual when it started raining.
