He clicked on a dozen links that led him to the home page for these salons and sat there wide-eyed as he viewed the before and after pictures, they were unbelievable. Ryan eventually found a shop not far from his house and he clicked on the website link. It seems they offered a wide variety of services and despite the fear and uncertainty clutching at his heart, he placed a call to them. Getting an appointment was the next challenge as all evening appointments were booked and the only slot available was in the afternoon. It would mean leaving work early or taking the day off, Ryan decided to take a sick day.
The building was somewhat non-descript and located on the Westside of the city in a suburb deemed Fairyland due to the fact that many of the LGBTQ community chose to reside there. He drove to the rear of the building and punched in the numbers he had been given onto the keypad. The gate swung open and as Ryan was parking his car he saw an older somewhat attractive female clad in a white lab coat open the rear door.
He was escorted to a private room containing a makeup table holding more makeup than he had ever seen in one place. He was invited to take a seat. His heart was beating rapidly and he began to sweat. He was offered a bottle of water and then handed a list of services they offered.
"You need to relax and calm down, you're not the only male client I've ever had. Now tell me what you need?" the lady stated.
Ryan chugged the water as his throat had gone dry and explained to this stranger what he needed or rather what Belinda wanted and she nodded her understanding as he spoke. When Ryan finished she smiled at him.
"Relax, you've come to the right place," she told him. "Now make your selection and take off your shirt and have a seat."
Ryan stared at the printout and pointed to the top-of-the-line service. He only tensed as she set up a video camera and he questioned it.
"Relax, it's part of the package. It will be a guide for you in case your lady wants you in makeup again. The list and makeup I will provide will help but seeing it happen will guide you," she informed him.
"This is going to be a one-time thing," Ryan informed her.
The technician smiled at his statement but said nothing. She cleaned his face and neck and then pulled his long hair under a wig cap and then switched on the camera and began. As she worked she explained each step and what makeup she was using and slowly his masculine features began to vanish.
Ryan began to relax and his heart rate and breathing returned to normal. He soon lost track of time as she worked. She suddenly stopped and spun his chair around so he could no longer see his reflection or the video monitor.
"Now, no peeking," she instructed as she left the room.
She returned a minute later carrying a long wig that's colour matched his own hair and gave him instructions on how to properly wear it. Seconds later after running a brush through it, she stepped back and smiled.
"OK, spin your chair and take a look," she told him.
So Ryan spun his chair around and then froze. His eyes went wide and his mouth hung open at the reflected image. There staring back at him was an attractive dark-haired female.
"This can't be," Ryan said out loud and he watched the painted lips of the reflection mouth the words.
"I take it you're pleased?" the female questioned as she popped the DVD from the recorder and placed it a clam case.
"Pleased is an understatement," Ryan responded as he leaned closer to the mirror searching for traces of his former looks.
The technician placed the brushes and makeup she used and placed them in a box. She then had him stand up and she took some quick measurements and then left him alone for a minute. She returned carrying a folded silk garment and placed it in the box.
"No peeking until you get home," she responded and then presented the bill for her services. It almost maxed out his credit card, but he didn't care.
Ryan left the building and slid into his vehicle and headed home. As he drove he stole glances at himself in the vanity mirror of the sun visor and he became aware of the bulge in his jeans.
