I paused as she glanced at me trying to decide if I had heard her right. Certain that I had, I turned my face from hers to compose myself. She jumped in again, "now go put on a suit and join me in the pool, my big strong savior!!"
I turned and gave her a sideways glance of my own, unsure of what I was even doing at this point. "If you insist." I say in a fake exasperated manner. For some reason I don't know, as I turned to go into the house to change, I ended our stare with a subtle but knowing wink.
I had started to immediately regret the action until I heard her sing out behind me, "hurrryyy baacckkkkk!!!"
