It was only when they got a call in the evening threatening them to take the case back that they realized that the guy who had molested Madhuri was one of Vijay’s goons.
Vijay was the local MLA, winning his seat third time in a row. He was infamous for criminal records but stayed rather away from middle-class like most politicians. He was ashamed by what had happened, he said and would have happily given up his man.
He, however, told Madhuri’s father how he was concerned how his name would be dragged in and it was in their favour if they took the case back.
Before her father could speak, Madhuri snatched the phone and howled at the MLA, “You can keep all your threats up your ass, I will see that you also pay dearly for the mistake your man has committed”.
Vijay responded in this crude Hindi, “Bitiya, gaand me toh hum tumhare bhi bhut kuchh daal dein aur humare dhang se baat karne ko humari majboori na samajhna” and hung up.
As the anger in Madhuri flushed her blood to the face, her face was soon burning. She rushed out in the same state, her family too scared to go behind. She came back home after an hour to inform them that she had added Vijay’s name in the FIR, as the man who was riding the bike.
Vijay was not new to FIRs and it was no surprise that he had his men in all the police stations across the district. When informed by the inspector of what Madhuri had just done, Vijay instructed him to not make any changes to the FIR and arrest the original molester Shankar.
The inspector was worried that Madhuri might want to know why Vijay wasn’t arrested. So, he asked, “What if she asks us for a copy of the FIR?”
Vijay had a cold laugh before speaking again, “Asking is all she will ever do, but definitely not for that damn FIR”.
Next morning, the papers were full of news regarding Shankar’s arrest, but no one had dared mention Vijay anywhere.
Madhuri was baffled and true to her journalistic values, she started for the police station again.
Never would the same Madhuri return to her home. Soon, she would start loving what was going to happen for her. Then, she would replay this last walk out of her home as an immature girl over and over again in her head, marking it as the day when everything changed for her.
Vijay’s men were expecting her at the station and as she settled down in a seat to wait for the late inspector, both of them sat on both her sides. They were both tall and dark, laughing way too much with each other to be sober.
Madhuri laid back in her seat to avoid their alcoholic breath and that is when they started leaning towards each other but kept their eyes at her.
Everything happened so quickly after that, them looking at her, her taking a second to understand, her scream that was cut short by a handkerchief at her mouth and nose, and so many hands on her body she lost count!
In broad daylight, an unconscious Madhuri was picked by one of the two men on his shoulders, her upper body dangling as the man grabbed her by the ass.
Nobody dared to move an inch and the men didn’t even need to tell the people that no news of the incident would ever go out of the station. Such was the fear towards Vijay who Madhuri had made the mistake of pissing off.
She was still only half-asleep but they need not wait any longer as she couldn’t scream now.

When Madhuri woke up, she knew she had been dumped into a cattle farm from the stench. She luckily found her clothes intact, but her gut sank to the reality of her having been kidnapped.
But the worst feeling for her was when she realized she had been tied to the ground just like the cows around her. She waited for 3 hours before the first sight of a human and her first instinct was to plead to him.
To overcome that instinct with your body tied up wherever possible wasn’t as easy as one would think. Yet she was a strong woman, if not from her petite frame, then from her mind. To her surprise, the man who had entered was scared as she was.
It was when she decided to speak that she realized she had duct tape across her mouth, changing her fearless voice into a feeble bleating.
He started with a slap across her face and her eyes suddenly were full of tears. He was aggressive and she could barely make what he spoke. He turned her around till she was on all her fours, and began to lift her long skirt. Her heart had never raced faster and she felt panic of the utmost kind.
Luckily for her, she soon heard a loud thud and felt all the grip over her body leave her alone. The guy had been hit hard and there stood a young attractive guy in a formal shirt and pants. She felt too weak to hold her position and collapsed onto the dirty floor.
“I am Shankar”, he said and asked if she was okay. Hesitant if he could touch her, he approached her tentatively.
Madhuri was relieved to see a gentleman and thought he would be his prince saviour and looked desperately at him to open her mouth first indicating that she has been gagged.
Shankar: Oh, so sorry, these gundas have gagged you. Kamine kahin ke.
He bent down and put his hand in her mouth to remove the gag slowly. But before he did that, he gently stroked her hair that was dishevelled and made her bhindi look good same time. Madhuri was bit taken aback and impressed by this gesture.
When he slowly removed the tape across her mouth, her lips rose and fell as his hands passed. She had kissed a lot of guys but she had never felt that kind of sensitivity on her lips even with the dryness.
She wanted to kiss him right there but she knew her intense sexuality was distracting her from a situation that was too dangerous for such things. She then closed her eyes and felt his hands work to untie every knot that held her from moving. And with every part that could now move, she knew he had a claim on it.
As Madhuri felt free in a long time, she felt obliged and thankful but worried if he was amongst them or someone outside.
“Thanks so much for saving me. Can’t repay you enough. How do I get outside this place? Any quick way out? Sorry, didn’t ask your name too.” Anxious but still a bit enamoured at the same time about her new captor, more a captor of her heart as she felt a strange sensation in her heart that wanted to make her listen to him.
He was quiet, confident and gentle in his tone, taking his time to speak and enjoying her childlike curiosity to know more.
He told her he was Vijay’s son and how he had not been told where they had taken you after the kidnapping. It was only after one of the men wanted to fuck her that he could follow him and find her.
He asked her where was she hurt, despite being a little shy about the question but knowing the necessity to know if she was in a good enough state to escape even with his help.
Madhuri slowly felt more and more comfortable with Shankar, thinking maybe he was a diamond in the rough. She asked him to hold his hands and make her help to get up. As he offered his hands, she held a bit firmly and got up.
As she was getting up, she could feel her ankles a bit swollen and ‘ouch’ was the first word that came.
Shankar understood she needed support as he made her lean on to her. “Dheere se.. Sambalke..”, he said as he held on to her even as Madhuri leaned more on him.
She was leaning on someone for the first time in her life. God, it did feel good. Maybe this was how people feel when they have a partner. Oh, what am I thinking at this juncture. Should I not try to escape but in turn want to spend more time with him even as her heart raced a bit skipping a few beats.
He knew she wasn’t going anywhere far with those ankles and told her he would help her get somewhere safe, but he couldn’t do it then as it was broad daylight.
As Madhuri began to sob again at the thought of him leaving, he pacified her by pulling her hair to the rear, taking her face in both his hands and whispering just two words -“Trust me”. And she knew she had to trust him.
For there to be no doubt, they decided she needed to be tied up again and Shankar set on the task of tying her body just as he had untied a while ago, except without hurting her. And yet, she wanted him to tie her even tighter than before as long as he was the one to open those knots.
“Are you done, Shankar ji?” she asked slowly as he tied her back. He simply gave a nod and smiled at her. She wanted him to stroke her hair or appreciate her by now. Her body was longing to be touched or praised. She was a petite but good looking person, but hardly anyone dealt with her softly these days.
Maybe the journalist mask over her was making everyone behave bit strict with her, she thought.
As though Shankar read her mind, he turned around as he was moving away and again patted her hair. He set right her hair and took the hair clips and again put them back like an affectionate lover or husband would subtly indicating he owns her.
Madhuri gave a gentle smile back and said, “Please come soon.. I will wait for you”.
That night he came back and without wasting time in untying her, he carried her straight to his room. Madhuri was scared when she saw him take her inside a building instead of somewhere open, and that too in a tied-up situation! She also had a strange trust in him.
When inside, he gently lay her on the bed. “His bed”, she thought.
He helped her lay her head against a pillow and gave her the same reassuring smile as before. It always affected her how she could never dare to speak while he was doing something as if she needed his permission to speak. But she stayed quiet as he gently removed all knots and sandals she wore.
He also proceeded to remove the bangles she wore, as well as the earrings. “Tum kapde badal lo and meri shirt daal lo. Mai bathroom me wait karta hoon”.
As he was about to turn, she held his wrist and guided his hand to the buttons of her top.
