“Is everything okay?”
Julia turned and smiled at John. She may have been standing close to him waiting for a taxi to take them into the city centre but she was miles away. Charles had smiled and winked at her as he stepped onto the station platform before disappearing into the crowd. Her mind was elsewhere.
“I’m fine,” she told him. “Just a little tired.”
“I shouldn’t have brought you all this way,” he told her. “You could have had a lazy day at home.”
She shook her head. “No, I wanted to come.”
A few minutes later John dropped her off in Oxford Street and then went on to the O2 building for his meeting. Julia went for coffee in one of the large department stores. She was unsettled. Charles had unsettled her. Her head was filled with thoughts of his cock. She had looked at his picture twice more before departing from the train. A message from John telling her that the meeting was about to start and that he would speak later brought her back to reality. He was her husband; she loved him and would soon start a family with him. Julia finished the last of her coffee and got to her feet. She needed some retail therapy and her credit card balance had been cleared the week before; it was time to put a hole in it!
By lunchtime, she was carrying a few shopping bags and so she slipped into a bistro and had some lunch. Afterwards, she felt relaxed and tired; she wasn’t in the mood for shopping now so she slipped onto a tour bus and refreshed herself with all the historic sites of the capital and took some pictures of sites old and new. The tour had taken her till just after four o’clock and she decided to head back to the station. Though it wasn’t due to depart until five-thirty it was standing ready when she got there and as a first-class passenger, she was allowed on early.
Julia was relaxed now. John would be finishing soon and would be with her in good time. Settling back with a magazine she forgot about her day; the cyber-flashing, the attempted seduction and even the shopping but suddenly after about ten minutes she heard a familiar voice. It was Charles.
“Julia,” he said, “I didn’t realise that you were coming back today as well.”
She looked up and saw him standing there with a very attractive dark-haired woman. She recognised her from the photo. It was Annette. Charles introduced them and Annette leaned over and gave her a hug. “Charles has told me so much about you.”
Julia felt a little embarrassed but she still let them join her after she had asked. “So you’ve been shopping then?”
Julia smiled at her. “Yes.”
Charles asked her where John was and she explained. “Good for you,” Annette said, “Having some me-time while hubby does business.”
Julia smiled.
“Anything nice?” Annette said nodding at the bag from a well-known lingerie store.
Her face reddened. Annette looked up at Charles. “Will you get some coffees darling? Girlie talk!”
He went away like an obedient puppy. “May I?” Annette asked, reaching across.
Her hand was on the bag before she could answer. She was pleased that she didn’t actually lift anything out of the bag. Julia had bought some lacy underwear sets as well as some stockings. “Hmmm, John’s going to be a lucky boy tonight,” Annette commented. “And hopefully you’ll be a lucky girl.”
Julia smiled. She liked her and she watched the way her long fingers rubbed the silk material. “I love the feel of silk against my skin,” Annette told her. “It feels so sexy.”
Julia nodded in agreement. She felt the same.
“Charles prefers the feel of cotton but I think silk is so much more sensual.”
Julia agreed.
“Does John prefer silk to cotton?”
Julia shrugged. She just didn’t know how to answer her.
“I bet he’s like most men,” Annette said. “Likes the look of it on you but can’t wait to get you out of it.”
She laughed. “Yes, that’s true.”
“I’m sure that you’ll look very nice in these.”
Once again Julia was stumped by her comment and just smiled.
“I apologise for Charles’s behaviour this morning; I have warned him about sending pictures,” she told her as she put her bag down. “One day he’ll do it to the wrong woman. You should have told him that you were a police officer!”
Julia laughed.
“You didn’t mind though, did you?”
Julia shook her head as she looked away.
“We would love to have you over one evening if you can get away.”
She blushed.
“We’re very discreet. You’ll enjoy yourself I promise you.”
“Look... I... I...”
Annette reached across and put her hands on hers. “I know the first time is always the hardest,” she told her quietly. “I can still remember my first time. Julia remained silent.

Julia found herself laughing. “You prefer women to men then?”

Julia was surprised by her directness.

Julia blushed.
“I’ve just had two weeks with a black guy and his friend and although it was very nice, they were a bit rough and they exhausted me.”
“Two men?”
Annette nodded. “They like to share their bounty,” Annette explained. “I had a week with Tyrone alone and then his friend dropped by one evening.”
“Didn’t you say no?”
Annette smiled. “It was kind of consensual non-consensual. I did say no but I really wanted it. Tyrone held me down while Joey stripped me and fucked me.”
Julia began to picture it. “Did he hurt you?”

“Is that a problem for you?”
“In what way?”
“Does he make you scream?” Annette asked her with a smile.
Julie blushed again and looked away with a smile. Annette reached across with her hands and gently squeezed hers again. “Sorry for being so direct.”
“It’s okay.”
“Charles usually has girls screaming,” Annette told her. “That’s why I married him and stay with him. “I’ve known too many women in my time living in unfulfilled relationships.”
Julia looked at her. ‘Did she think that she was one of them?’ she wondered as Charles returned with their coffees. She thanked him before he moved to sit across from them. Annette reached into her handbag and from a small pocket lifted out a business card. “This is what I do if you are ever in the area?”
Julia took the card. Annette owned beauty salons and not only that, one of them was close to where they lived. “We live near Bath,” she told her.
“So do we.”
Julia was stunned. Annette took the card and wrote a mobile phone number on the back of it. “That’s my personal mobile,” she told her. “If you a fancy a freebie give me a call sometime.”
“Thank you,” was all Julia could say, still surprised with everything.
“I’ll look after you personally,” Annette told her looking her in the eye. “Waxing is much better than shaving and longer-lasting,” she added quietly.
Obviously she had not only seen her pictures but also her text messages. She looked up to speak again but Annette was rising with her coffee in her hand. “I’ll look forward to your call, Julia,” she said. “Perhaps next week, hey?”
