I asked Helen as we left Dr. Watson. "What did Dean do to
deserve to be sent to Demented High?"
"A lot of things but today?s stunt was the straw which
broke the camel's back," said Helen. "Dean swiped one my
bras, then taped it to Allison Barker?s locker at school.
Then wrote something demeaning on the locker."
"That shouldn't be enough to be sent to Demented High," I
said.
"It was the seventh such act of harassment Dean has done to
Allison in the last two weeks," Helen informed me. She then
told me about the lawsuit the Barkers agreed not to file on
the condition that Dean wears a bra to school for a week or
transfers to Demented High. Then she asked, "What will we
do about this problem?"
"First, Dean will be going back to school wearing a bra," I
told her. "But I suggest we don't tell him about this
punishment until Sunday night. As for what Dean can do
during the three days he is suspended, I have an idea that
will keep him busy and help someone at the same time."

I figured I was in deep shit when my parents walked in the
door, but neither one said a thing. My mother headed for
the kitchen and my dad headed for his den. I heard him on
the phone but couldn't understand what was being said.
Ten minutes later I heard, "Dean, could you come in here?"
For a couple of minutes we sat staring at each other,
finally my dad asked. "Dean, what do you plan on doing
during your suspension?"
"Just sit around and watch TV and play video games," I
replied.
"Do you really think I was going to let you get off that
easy," He sounded like he really wanted answer. "Do you?"
"I figure I will just have some extra chores to do," I
replied.
"I wouldn't count on too much TV and video games for the
rest of the week... there won't be any." As my dad said
this he stood up. "But I did find something for you to keep
busy with."
"What is that?" I asked.
"You remember my friend Ben Phillips?" he asked.
"Yeah, he owns that riding stable," I answered.
"What you didn't know is that the guy who cleans out his
stables is out of town attending a funeral until Monday,"
my dad informed me.
"Why would I be interested in all of this?" I inquired.
"Simple, starting at the same time school does tomorrow;
you will be cleaning out the stables. You will work until
school lets out," my dad told me my punishment. "For the
rest of the week."
"WHAT!" I screamed, "You can't do this to me."
"Oh yes I can and I did." My dad also told me. "For every
time Ben catches you not doing your job. I will add an
extra day to this punishment. Which means you will be doing
it on Saturdays."
Before I could say another word he said, "Now get out of
here before I decide you do need to do more than clean out
stables."
I knew right there and then I had better accept this
punishment. Cause if I didn't my dad wouldn't try and stop
the imposing of the punishment Mr. Brown had planned for
me.
Dr. Hillery Knox
Looking at the records Adam Watson sent over I knew right
away I wanted Dr. McLean in my program. Not just because he
was a doctor but because I knew it would keep Richard and
Helen together.
I did notice one thing that was completely different from
their meetings with Adam. They arrived together instead of
separately.
I got right to the point. "How much did Dr. Watson tell you
about my program?"
"He told us about your success rate but very little else,"
replied Richard.
"That is the way I want it," I said. "If the word gets out
about my program other than it works I will have to shut
down and that will hurt a lot of people that don't deserve
to be hurt."
"So what is your program?" asked Helen.
"I want this understood." I stated firmly. "The only people
I want to know about my program is the two of you and both
of your kids."
I watched as the couple looked at each other. "We agree to
your condition," both of them said in unison.
"How would you like to live in the other?s shoes for a
month?" I asked.
"You want us to switch places?" said Helen. "Wouldn't a
switch be something hard not tell someone about? My husband
is a doctor and I am a high school Teacher."
"I don't mean just for the two of you to switch places," I
replied.
"What do you mean then?" asked Richard.
"A mind transference," I answered. "I will put your mind in
your wife's and hers into yours. Then for the next month
you will live in each others shoes."
"It this possible?" asked Helen.
"It is, the only people who know about it don't care to
advertise the process exists since it could be misused. But
it does work."
By the tone of both Richard and Helen's voices I knew they
were very interested in my program.
"If we did this how will we explain it to the hospital if
my husband shows up in my body? There would be way too many
problems and questions. Even if we just stayed at home for
a month how would we explain it to our families, friends
and neighbors?" Helen asked.
"I agree with my wife. Your program would cause too many
problems," said Richard.
"It would cause major problems if you still live and work
in the same place," I answered. "I?ve been doing my program
for over two years and all these problems have a simple
solution."
"What is that?" asked Helen.
"During the time that you are in the program the two of you
will live out West. There is a small town where most of the
people know of the program but maintain the secret. The
reason they do so is that it is quite beneficial to the
town."
"So what happens when we switch bodies and then move out
West? What will we do in this town of yours?" asked
Richard.
"You will practice medicine and Helen will teach at the
local high school." I replied.
"You mean you will set me up in practice or in a hospital,"
asked Richard.
"No, nothing like that. You will take the place of the
local doctor while she is on maternity leave," I replied.
"I am a pediatrician, I have never done general practice,"
said Richard.
"That shouldn't cause a problem. Dr. Blaylock is only six
months pregnant, so she will be able work with you for a
month and she lives in town so if you have any problems she
will be there to help," I informed Richard.
"From the sound of what you just said. We will be living
out west for more than a month," said Helen.
"You will live out West for six months," I told them. "My
program won?t cost you a penny, but it will cost six months
of your time."
"What will happen to our kids during the six months we are
gone?" asked Richard.
"We have three options there. 1. Have them live with
friends or relatives. 2. They can live with you. 3. They
can switch minds too and live with you."
"You can switch them too?" asked Helen.
"If they both want to," I replied. "I have found that all
kids at one time or another have fantasized about being the
other sex. This way they get to see what its like to wear
the other's shoes."
"It might be the best thing for Dean." Helen went on and
told me what Dean did to Allison Barker that day and the
six other times. Helen also told of the Barkers required
punishment.
"My I make a suggestion. If Dean goes to school wearing a
bra don't tell him anything about my program until next
Friday. He might just surprise you and want to switch."
"I have a question, I am afraid to ask," said Richard.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Have you had people in your program who didn't want to
switch back?" Richard asked
"I would like to know what happens if one wants to switch
back and one doesn't," asked Helen.
"I have had over forty couples who have decided not to
switch back, but never have I ever had a couple who wanted
to switch back that haven't. I talk to each person involved
separately and if I feel, for any reason, that they don't
want to stay switched, I will make the couple switch back,"
I told them. "The doctor that is going on maternity was
part of my program. The doctor and her husband decided to
stay switched. It is the doctor's first child but they had
already three before the switch."
"What I think is the best thing to do is for my wife and I
to discuss this between ourselves and think it over before
we make this important decision," said Richard. Richard
then looked over at Helen, and said, "We should be able to
give you our answer by Monday."
"Monday will be fine with me," said Helen.
"How long will it take for you to take a leave of absence
from the hospital, doctor," I asked Richard.
"Three weeks at the most." Richard said. "I just realized
something. I will be a woman for one month and a man doctor
for five months. Wouldn't it be easier for me and my
patients if we switched for the whole six months?"
"Yes it would, but that is entirely up to you and your
wife," I replied.
"That is something else my wife and I need to discuss and
think about." Richard told me as the McLeans got up. "We'll
call Monday to give you an answer one way or the other."
Helen
In the car Richard made a surprising announcement. "I
believe Dr. Knox is right about one thing. Most teenagers
think about what they would do if they had a chance to be
the other sex, I did."
"Did you ever try on any of your mom's stuff?" I asked
surprised by his revelation.
"Yes I did. I spent many evenings hiding beneath my sheets

I think he thinks that if he does the silence treatment

By nine o'clock Jennifer went off to her room and since
Dean couldn't watch TV he had already gone to his room.
Helen gave me a wink and a nod of her head as she headed
off to our bedroom. I waited five minutes before heading to
the bedroom.
The first thing I noticed upon entering the room was the
clothes that were where my pajamas usually where. Instead
of my clothes I found one of wife's see-through nighties
with a lacy pair of panties.
"Helen where are my Pajamas?" I asked.
Her reply shocked me, "I thought you might like to wear
what I laid out." She shocked me even more when she walked

At 6pm Sunday evening I was called into my dad's den. In
the room were my mom, dad and Mr. Brown.
My dad started the conversation by saying, "I have asked
Mr. Brown to be here so he knows exactly where you stand
and where your mother and I stand on your last punishment."
"My last punishment?" I asked. "I thought I had already
paid for my crime?"
"You have paid two/thirds of your punishment. The schools,
by being suspended for three days. Mine, by shoveling horse
shit for those three days. But you haven't paid the Barkers
punishment." He told me.
"That should be easy," I said.
"You might not think so when you learn what the punishment
is," said mom.
"I can take anything that the Barkers can dish out," I
said. "ANYTHING!!"
"You think so?" said Mr. Brown who then reached behind the
chair and pulled out a bra. He then told me. "The Barkers
want you to wear this at school for the next week. Just
like any girl."
After mom and dad told me about the punishment I still had
to do I almost told them where to put that damn bra... but
my earlier determination not to do anything to get
permanently kicked out of school kept my response somewhat
civil. "You have to be crazy," I almost screamed. "What if
I refuse to wear this bra?'
"If you don't show up tomorrow morning wearing this bra I
will permanently transfer you to Demented High School."
"You can't transfer me there," I said. "I wouldn't last a
day."
"Yes I can and I will if you don't wear this bra for the
whole week," Mr. Brown told me.
At that I looked at my parents for help.
"I totally agree with the punishment," my dad told me.
"I don't think you would last an hour at Demented," said my
mom.
"So it is your choice Dean, a bra or Demented," my dad
said.
"Do I have to decide right this very minute?" I asked.
"No, tomorrow morning first period will do," said Mr.
Brown.
"How will I ever tell my friends?" I said aloud.
"They already know. Someone leaked the news of your
punishment to Becky Abbott. Within half an hour everyone
knew about it." my mom told me.
I found out months later it was my mom who leaked the news
to Becky.
After mom and dad told me about the punishment I still had
to do. I almost told them where to put that damn bra...
