THE LIFE OF TWO HALVES PROLOGUE Once upon a time there was a boy named Joe who got everything he needed but very little of what he wanted. The moon was full, the sky was clear, the air was cold, and the grass was shining wetly; all this was happening in the way that is only possible after a rainstorm has passed. While he was walking he saw a shiny object off in the distance and turned to examine it. The closer he got to it the further away it seemed to get which made him even more curious about it. When he thought that he had walked for at least an hour and saw the object looked to be miles away he turned around and saw the object floating right in front of him He started to reach for it but something in him told him not to touch it so he decided to study it some more but no matter how hard he looked at it he couldn't see it clearly because his vision kept blurring was his first thought because he had a lazy eye but he noticed that nothing else was blurry so he looked at the object again and unfocused his eyes and saw that the object was actually a miniature model of a boy but as he looked at it the object morphed into a model, of almost the same size, of a girl. ruby: yes i'm talking about our dream frosty: are you the one that snuck up on me? ruby: guilty :) frosty: you caused me to wake up! ruby: oh i'm sorry i didn't mean to but i do it all the time and you never woke up before :( frosty: i don't remember ever being in that dream before in my life and i don't remember being snuck up on in a dream either ruby: you aren't serious are you please tell me that this is a mean joke frosty: no i am dead serious and i would not lie even for a joke about something that is this weird. ruby: i'm sorry frosty: don't worry about it i'm just freaked out that's all joe sat there and waited for her to answer but after she didn't respond after hour he signed off and went downstairs to get something to eat. while he ate he noticed the tattoo on his palm but instead of smiling it looked like it was crying but he still thought that it was beuatiful and he also thought that any guy would want to be with her every guy except himself that is. then he noticed that it was naked again and he thought about it wearing a nightie but as soon as the nightie appeared the tattoo looked angry and the nightie disappered again. fade out fade in ruby went around the house like a ghost without any thougt except "he forgot me, how coul he of forgotten me i thought that we were friends he was the one that said we woould be friends forever! and if he forgot me then why would he have asked me to be his friend yesterday?" at one point a nightie appeared on her but she just lost her temper because her mom had always tried to put girly things on her and she ripped it to shreds and she knew where the nightie had come from so she thought "let's see how he likes someone putting girls clothing on him!" and as soon as she thought that her tattoo was wearing the same kind of nightie that she had ripped to pieces but instead of the horrified look that she suspected or even the angry one the tattoo just looked surprised then had a look of immense joy on its face. fade out fade in joe was shocked he was standing in the kitchen wearing the same nightie that he had given to the tattoo. he looked around and saw that nobody but him was home so he alowed himself to show his complete happiness at the fact that the nightie was quite comfy and he had to admit to himself that he looked pretty in it and once more he felt pretty in it as well then he thought "why did she put me in this nightie?" but when he couldn't figure it out he thought we she put me in girls pj's so fair is fair and his tattoo was then wearing pajamas that could never be mistaken as girls clothes and he thought that the tattoo would looked horrified or even angrier but instead it began to look happy again then it looked as overjoyed as he was himself so he just shrugged his shoulders and went back upstairs to see if ruby was ready to forgive him for whatever it was that he did. ruby: hey cutie frosty: hey handsome ruby: :) i love your fashion sense frosty: your not so bad yourself and i am sorry about what i said ruby: it's ok i was just upset that you could forget me after we've known each other for eight years frosty: you do realize that for the last eight years not counting these past three weeks i have been in a coma right?
