A REFLECTION OF BATWOMAN TO HER SISTER ALICE

She is a fan of the TV series "Batwoman." Eagerly awaited the first
episode and even with the previews wonder who would play Batwoman. In
later previews, becoming aware of the other characters; one character she
remembers from watching the movie "Enigma." The additional character she
remembers in the previews is Alice.
Batwoman and Alice seem to strike a special reflection with her. She could
tell one was the hero and the other anti-hero in a literary sense. Yet,
could sense in the preview and the in story line there is something more.
It is March 15, 2020 and she is watching Batwoman on 18.1 broadcasting
from Milwaukee. What is interesting about the story line for her is that
the characters are real. The hero is not perfect and anti-hero is not all
evil; a telling of how each is shaped; the hero being shaped when her
partner had to renounce her at the military school because she was P.H.D.
(poor, hungry, and desperate) if she did not renounce her lover. Her lover
realizing she had the power to move on from the military school, but, the
one forced to renounce did not and later was given a gift of repentance
with the job of the security firm "the crows."
In this episode, Alice saves her boyfriend and her boyfriend so tortured
traps Alice with a hallucinated gas. What followed are flash backs of
Alice meeting the Queen of Hearts. In the seeing the scene with the Queen
of Hearts, the person watching had flashbacks of Evanston and of a
closeted gay man who taught at Loyola university who verbally and
psychology abused her, a transwoman. Also, who gas lighted her when he
caught.
Like Alice, the abuse was over trivial things like her drinking too much
milk; or, her not buying enough TV dinners and even trying to lock out of
the condo when the train from Kenosha to Evanston was a few minutes. She
even suspected that she was drugged when he offered her a hard drink, part
of the reason she felt she was drugged is that her dreams were weird and
dreams of someone being sexually abused along with other issues.
To the person watching the "Batwoman" episode this night, it is a
catharsis because she can watch and realized she survived, is thriving,
and will never have to go through that again.
She is a white MTF and still supports Pride Festivals and an active member
of LGBTQ+, but, she is concerned when the closeted gay guys still think
they can play both sides of the street in abuse. She realizes that some
can't come and some closeted gay guys as two who helped her and her
fianc?e' one time at a LGBTQ+ campground in Florida at a critical time.
What saved to become like Batwoman rather than Alice are friends and what
her parents said to her "never go down to their level."
