Auntie Mame started the car and looked over at me in a way that made me

"I just love a girl outing," said Auntie Mame. "And I'm really excited
about sharing some of my things with you. Like my home, and my perfume.
Do you like the fragrance?"

"Well, I love it on you, and I think we should always wear the same
fragrance. That way, we're just kind of surrounded by a wonderful
cloud, don't you think? What we did is called layering, by the way.
Your bath, the body lotion and the perfume itself all work together to

"Yes, ma'am. Um, Auntie Mame, where are we going?" I asked. "I don't
really want people to see me dressed like this."
"Why not? You've never looked prettier. Oh, I know - you feel funny
because you have boy hair and a girly dress. I'll make you a hair
appointment right now so we can change that," she said. Auntie Mame
took out her cell phone and dialed a number. "Hi, Lisa? Mame. Great,
and you? Wonderful. Listen, remember the summer project I mentioned to
you last week? Yes. Well, she's here. Oh, just lovely, and she has
plenty of hair, but it just needs some work. Can you take her today?
Really? Fantastic. We'll see you at 4."
"Auntie Mame, that wasn't exactly what I meant. I meant ..." I
stammered.
"I know exactly what you meant, sweetie. But you don't want people

won't. We got really lucky. Lisa had a cancellation, and she can do

away, so let's stop at the mall."
A few minutes later, we pulled into a huge shopping mall, with a Macy's
on one end and a Nordstrom's on the other. We were about to walk into
the Macy's door when Auntie Mame stopped, held both my hands and looked
me straight in the eye.
"Sweetie, I know you're a little uncomfortable, but I need you to trust
me. What did your mother tell you about your visit with me?"
"To obey you, no matter what."
"Good. So if we do some things that you're not sure about, you're not
going to argue, right?"
"Right."
"And you surely wouldn't embarrass me by arguing with me in public,
would you?"
"No."
"No what?"
"No ma'am."
"Good. And I promise you, you're going to have a very special summer.
Now, let's do some shopping!"
She led me by the hand into the store. Something about knowing that was
the same hand that had bathed and rubbed my peepee made it turn stiff,
but it was covered by the flared dress. We went to the girls' clothing
department and located a rack of purses.
"You've probably been used to carrying your things in your pockets, but
you can't do that in a dress, can you?" Auntie Mame winked. "You need a
couple of different purses to go with different outfits. Try this one."
She hung a cloth purse of ivory cloth with blue trim across my arm.
"Hm, not bad. Let's try this one," she said as a saleslady walked up.
"May I help you ladies?" She took a closer look at me. "Or..."
"Absolutely. We're looking for some new outfits for my new niece.
Patricia, this is ... is it Mandy?" she said, looking at the
saleslady's nametag.
"That's me."
"Well, we should probably start with clothes, but I just love these two
purses. Where are your dresses?" asked Auntie Mame.
"Right over here. Do you know your size, sweetie?"
"Well, I've been wearing 12 pants," I said. "Boy's pants."
The salesgirl cocked her head, and her eyebrows shot up. "Really! Well,
I think you look like about a 4." She looked at Auntie Mame
quizzically.
"Well, up to now, we've been raising Patricia as Patrick, but she's
ready to move past the tomboy thing. Isn't that right, Patricia?"
"Yes, ma'am."
"So, let's get to work. What do you have in mind?" Mandy asked.
"I want to look at dresses, mainly, but she's going to need some girly
underwear, too. Are your panties in this department?"
"They're just across the aisle, but I can help you there, too," said
Mandy. She turned to me. "Sweetie, do you want some different colors,
or do you want to stay mainly pink and white?"
Auntie Mame interrupted. "Let's just see what you have."
The panties were folded in stacks on a table -- lavender, several
shades of pink, blue, and even purple. Some were plain; others had lace
trim. Mandy picked up a pair of pink panties. "She can try this for
size. It should be pretty close. The dressing room is right over here."
She led us to a stall, which was open at the top and bottom. Auntie
Mame pushed me inside. "I think you can just try them on over your
tights, sweetie." She turned to Mandy. "Do you think that'll give us a
close enough fit?"
"Let's just do it right. Go ahead and take off your tights and panties,
and we'll know for sure. We'll wait out here."
After a few minutes, I called to Auntie Mame, but there was no answer.
I called several other times, then had no choice but to leave the stall
and look for her. She and Mandy were looking at training bras.
"Hi, sweetie! Oh, we ran off and left you, didn't we?" said Mandy.
"Well, how do they fit?"
"I think they're a little small," I said.
"Let's see," said Auntie Mame.
"We're going to do it here?" I said.
"Sure," said Mandy. There's nobody else in the department. We can do it
behind this rack if you're feeling modest." Without asking, she lifted
the front of my dress and reached down to see how tight the panties
were on my legs. My peepee was sticking straight out, and the salesgirl
patted it. "Most of these don't allow for one of these, especially when
they're doing that, but I think these will be perfect." She went down
on one knee. "Don't be shy, sweetie. I've seen a lot of these, and your
aunt tells me that by the time you girls get home, nobody will ever
know you even have one. I won't tell!"
She turned to Auntie Mame. "She can wear these if I can just get the
tag off for the bar code. There it is," she said, reaching both arms

was younger than Auntie Mame, with dark brown hair and pink lips. She

had beautiful nails, painted pink. Auntie Mame noticed, too.
"Your nails look beautiful! Who does them?" said Auntie Mame as Mandy

"Thanks!" she said. "I just got them done over at Lisa's salon. A girl

"That's where we're going to get Patricia's hair done. Maybe we can get

it was. I was still sticking straight out. Then she realized what was
happening and pulled her hand up to her mouth.
"Oh, I'm sorry! I wasn't thinking. Goodness, you do seem to be liking

"You try to relax now, OK?" She patted me once more and let my skirt
fall to cover me at last.
"You can go pull your tights and shoes on now, but leave the panties
on," said Auntie Mame. She turned to Mandy. "Wait. One more thing. Do
you think she's too young for a training bra?"
"Not at all. It's not about support, and of course she doesn't have
anything. But she needs to get used to wearing a bra, and it'll make
her feel more complete," said Mandy.
She held one of the training bras up to me.
"You're going to have to try this on too, sweetie. Step back into the
stall and take off your dress and put this on so we can see it, too. We
won't run off this time, I promise!"
After a few minutes, I told them through the door that it felt fine.
"Well, open up and let's take a look," said Mandy. I unlatched the
door, and she swung it wide open, leaving me exposed in bra and
panties. She turned me around, running her fingers around the edges.
"Yes, I think it's fine." She turned to Auntie Mame. "Do you want this
one? She can wear it too. It matches her panties."
"Yes, I think that will be fine," said Auntie Mame. "Here, I'll step
inside and help her get dressed. We want to come back and look at
dresses, but we're almost late for her hair appointment. We'll just get
these and a couple of other pair and come back afterward. Will that be
okay?"
With the door finally closed, Auntie Mame helped me back into the dress
and tights. As she pulled the tights up, she brushed her hand against
my stiff peepee. Her full lips widened into a smile.
"I know this is a lot for him to handle," she said. "Let's see how he's
doing." She pulled my panties down and took it in her hand. "Have you
learned yet how to make it go down?" she asked.
"No ma'am," I said.
"Well, I'm sure you will eventually. I'm not sure it's my role to teach
you. Meanwhile, let's get to the salon," she said, abruptly pulling up

I got my Mary Janes on while Auntie Mame and Mandy went back across the
aisle to the cash register. When I caught up to them, Mandy was handing
her the receipt.

we'll see you later about those dresses," said Mandy.
As we walked back to the car, I started to notice more about Auntie
Mame. Her black pants were made of a thin material that flared around
her feet, which were smaller than I would have expected. Her shoes were
open at the back, with skinny heels that looked about two inches tall.
"I like your shoes," I said. "You look very pretty. Am I going to have
some pants like that?"
Auntie Mame turned to me and took my hands as she had before we came
into the store, again looking me straight in the eye. I noticed she had
freshened her burgundy lipstick, apparently while I was changing.
"Maybe sometime, sweetie, but for a while, you need to get used to
walking and sitting like a girl, and the way to do that is with
dresses. But don't worry. You'll have plenty of nice clothes. You're
going to be the prettiest thing around. Now, we don't want to keep Lisa
waiting. Time to get your hair done"
With that, we turned to the car, and I wondered just what "getting my
hair done" would mean.
