Once Mark and Stevie had achieved a detente of sorts, they went on about
their business. Mark was bouncing back and forth between his normal work
and making notes on his project for most of the morning. Stevie decided to
wait until mid-morning before making a call to salon to set up Mark's
meeting with Paul. But on her first try, she was told Paul was busy with a
client. She was told to call back a little before noon.
The second time around, Stevie explained to Paul that Mark was planning to
do a story about crossdressing and wanted to meet with Paul to talk about
and experience his work.
Paul described a gammit of services he offered, from a mini-session to a
total head-to-toe transformation.
"Total sounds more like what we're looking for as opposed to mini," said
Stevie schemingly. "Tell me, what all does it involve?"
"It's very involved. It's too much to explain really," began Paul. "We try
to give the girl the complete sensation of being a woman. We create an
energetic, feminine environment to put her in the mindset. There's music.
There's instructional videos and tapes. And the salon decor helps put the
lady in the role as well. Then we go to work on her. She will have any
unwanted hair removed and be given a spa-like treatment, followed by a
total cosmetic and beauty treatment. We fit the client with realistic
feminine features including breasts and genitalia. And we use a unique
series of undergarments to help create a feminine figure."
"Really?" Stevie remarked with intrigue. "What would you have him wear?"
"She would be made over in a series of themes and experiences. A lot
depends on her figure and her personality. Some girls wind up having a
lifetime of ladylike looks in a matter of hours. And of course, she can
bring any special dresses or outfits, including something she might want
to leave in."
The wheels in Stevie's mind were really turning now. This total makeover
could help her put Mark right where she wants him -- in the palm of her
hand.
"A few answers to some questions would help me get a head start on things.
When would you like to schedule this for?"
"Saturday if at all possible."
"Sure. That should be fine. That's typically when we do these special
sessions. Have her plan on a very long day, beginning at 9. First, I need
to know if this reporter is allergic to latex."
"Well, I don't know."
"I also need her men's shoes, pants and neck size. Hair and eye color
wouldn't hurt. But we might change that anyway. How long is her hair now.
And would she want her ears pierced? Plus, does she have a favorite female
singer?"
"May I put you on hold a moment? I'll get the answers you need."
Stevie dialed Mark's desk to ask him some of the questions.
"Hi, Mark. I'm on the phone with Paul right now. He needs to know your
shoe size, your pants size and your neck size. Oh, and do you have any
allergies?"
"Uh, ok. Size 9 shoe. 15 1/2 neck. And my pants are a 28 waist with a 30
inch inseam. And allergies? I'm not allergic to anything. Do they really
need all of that?"
"It's standard. They ask everybody. That should do it. Thanks."
She hung up with Mark and got back on the line with Paul, relaying the
sizes and more.
"He has brown hair and brown eyes, but he'd like to experience being a
blue-eyed honey blonde. One or two ear piercings would be fine. No
allergies. His hair's kind of short. He has a little to work with in the
back, but he'd definitely need a wig."
"Oh, no wigs for our total makeovers, dear. We want them to be as passable
as possible. Weaves or extensions. She doesn't sound very big. That's
good. Any favorite singers?"
"Do you mean looks or voice?"
"Both."
"Well, I know he kind of has this thing for Britney Spears and Jessica
Simpson... and Mariah Carey as well."
"What do you mean by 'thing'?"
"Oh, the looks of all of them. The dance beat for Britney. Jessica's
image. The sensual way Mariah performs."
Stevie was totally making this up as she went along, and having a lot of
fun in the process.
"Let me ask you this," Paul said. "Is the reporter straight or gay? I only
wonder because this isn't a typical story subject you would see someone
pursue. And you wouldn't expect them to go to such great lengths for a
story."
"Well, he's not completely open about it, but he's bi," Stevie responded.
She had to cover the phone receiver for fear of busting out laughing at
this point.
"So, do you think she would rather be with one of those singers, or
actually be one of them?"
"Oh, I could totally see him wanting to be one of them," she said with a
giggle of excitement. "I'm sorry. He is just so going to love this."
"Do you think she's going to be very nervous? If so, we can offer her
something to keep her calm through the process. Maybe some wine or even a
Valium."
"Let me ask him."
Stevie put Paul on hold for about 30 seconds and then picked the line back
up.
"Yes to both. They might keep him from getting over excited."
"And will she be bringing something to wear?"
"I'm not sure yet. Maybe we'll shop for something later. What size would
you say he is?"
"A size 10 shoe. Either an 8 or a 10 in a dress. Let's say 8. We'll fit
her into it no matter what. May I suggest a party dress for the evening?
Something glamorous, not trashy. Macy's is actually having a sale. We'll
take care of the hosiery and the handbag."
"That sounds great! We can't thank you enough, Paul. I've got your
address. Mark should be there a little before 9."
"Does he have a preferred female name?" Paul asked.
"Let me check, please."
Stevie called in, curious to hear Mark's response.
"Um, I don't know," feigned Mark. "How about Marcia since it's close to
Mark? Why does this matter?"
"I don't know. Just relaying the questions, Marcia honey," teased Stevie
as she hung up.
"Uh, whatever," Mark tried responding as he blushed.
"She will be Marcia, Paul."
"Very good. We will expect her at 9. Tell her to get a good night's rest."
"Oh, I'll make sure of it."
With that, Stevie hung up the phone. She wasn't sure exactly what she set
Mark up for, but she figured it sounded like he would be begging her for
help once it was all over.
As lunch time arrived, Stevie headed out to the mall to pick out a dress
for the man she was infatuated with. It would be elegant yet dazzling,
sexy yet sophisticated and short yet tasteful. Stevie found just the dress
for Mark!
