tells me. Mother makes sure I empty the basket at the register. The woman
at the register sees me holding the panties and bras and just smiles, like
it's perfectly normal for a young boy to be touching such things. "I sure
hope that material doesn't show under your dance clothes," Mother tells me
as I put an extremely feminine panty and bra set on the counter for
purchase. My face turns pinker than the delicates I'm holding in my hand.
Mother is telling me she talked with Ms. Johnson. They purchased 34 yellow
leotards, with each girl's name to be sewn above the right leg opening, 68
girls' tights (one yellow and one ballet pink), and names to be sewn on
the waistband. Panties - I get the job of determining which styles won't
show beneath the leotard material. Mother bought lots of different prints
and solid colors. "Will a pale blue nylon panty show under the yellow
leotard, Jamie?" Tammy asks me all kinds of questions like that, making
sure Mother can hear. "What about this lace?" "Will any boys see the color
or the lacy material under my leotards?"
Mother just laughs and tells me I'll have to try it. I don't think the
girls wear panties under their tights and leotards, but Mother wants me to
try them all. She says I can report to Ms. Johnson about which panties the
girls can wear if they choose to.
It was Tammy's idea that I sew monogram initials on my purchases, "So we
don't get our panties and bras mixed up, Mother." Tammy and Mother laugh
at that one. "Great idea, Tammy." "Jamie needs to learn to sew on delicate
materials, and he needs to test for visual panty lines on the leotards the
other girls are wearing." Getting home and emptying the car with a sewing
machine, and a bundle of packages full of materials, Mother says I've got
my work cut out for me.
Of course Tammy had to tell Connie that I had sewed my monogram on my new
underwear, and on her panties and bras, too. Mother had me dump her
lingerie out and sew her monogram on her intimates as well, including her
slips and hankies. Mother wants me to experience all the possible
materials. I had to fashion my new intimates to demonstrate where I placed
the monogram and which color and type of thread I used. Mother asked that
I wear my panties so I could determine if the monogram thread itched. "We
wouldn't want our ballerinas uncomfortable," Mother said.
Once Connie found out how I'd monogrammed all the panties at our house,
and her mother and sister were told as well, I was invited to carry my
sewing machine across the street to Connie's house. How convenient, they
had all their lingerie out and ready to have monogrammed as well. I asked
Mother, "Couldn't you tell which panties belonged to whom by the size and
the style?" Connie's sister, Debbie, is only 10, and is still wearing the
Disney princess days of the week cotton panties. It seemed obvious to me
who owned which panties. Connie's panties were similar to Tammy's, mostly
cotton, but a few really feminine ones. Connie asked me which were my
favorites, and when I was done monogramming, she had me fashion them for
her, to make sure I monogrammed them properly. Connie, Debbie, and their
Mother all stood around as I demonstrated my new sewing skills. They
thought it was the most normal thing for a boy to be handling their bras
and panties. Debbie asked me whom my favorite Princess was as I held each
panty for her to see that I'd monogrammed them all. Connie's Mother had
the girls change their panties so I could monogram the ones they had been
wearing. Connie's mother had rubbed these soiled undies against my cheek,

By dance class the next week, it seemed all the girls knew that I had
monogrammed Connie and Tammy's bras and panties, and they all wanted to
have me do the same for them. Mother thought it was a perfectly marvelous
idea. Ms. Johnson pulled me to her office to show me all the leotards and
tights, and while the girls were practicing, I was to sew their names into
the right legging. Their names were printed on small pieces of paper,

Ms. Johnson had some material she wanted to show me so we could consider
if it were suitable for Georgette Wrap-around skirt for the recital. She
asked me to sew a quick skirt so I could have someone model it by the end
of the practice. Mother and Ms. Johnson positioned my sewing table so I
could see the girls practicing. And the girls all came up to ask me about
panty lines or bra lines. Connie made sure that the girls all wore
different styles of panties so that I could comment on which ones would
show through the yellow leotard material when they wore their recital
costumes. Ms. Johnson asked me to report which panty style would be the
best for girls who wanted to wear undies under their leotards and tights.
I made the mistake of saying that the dance store sold underwear
specifically for this kind of situation, and Mother volunteered me to
purchase a panty for each girl (with my own money) so we wouldn't have to

material. I don't know why she made me try on all the different styles of
girls' panties when it didn't matter in the end.
Tammy told me that some of the girls might be having their periods and
panties are needed for young woman times of the month. She told me she'd
tell me all about that later. I got busy sewing the girls names on their
dancewear. I had to open each bag of tights and sew names on the tights
waistband as well. I just finished when the rehearsal ended, but I hadn't
