What can I say, I am Me! That's right, I am an older gal of
indeterminate age. I have always felt that I am special - not better
than someone else, but special in self. I had a normal childhood, grew
up running wild. I spent the school years being a invisible student and
the summers working outdoors for my parents or playing in the hundreds of
acres of forest, waters, hills and dales surrounding my home.
Events took a hand in my rearing. I was the last child of a family of 7
siblings, the unwanted one; the accident that happened.
I was left an inheritance by a grandmother that I really didn't know - I
still have that inheritance to this day.
I have been married once; cancer took my wife who thought being
transgender was the worse curse imaginable. If her friends, work or
family found out, she was simply going to die. Thankfully she is at
peace now; she would have had an absolute "bird" with the life I now
lead. Now I live as I wish to, without restraint. Hurrah!
I am a snowbird, keeping a residence in a southern state plus my home in
north. I travel south each year for several weeks, enjoying the warmer
climate and larger population density than I have around me in the North.
Well, that is enough background information. A woman never reveals all
her secrets.
I am Me after all.
I enjoy outings, spending the time with friends or simply by myself.
With friends, it is often for coffee and catching up on gossip or a
shopping trip. Whatever the reason for the get-together, it is always
fun.
When I go by myself, it is definitely a time to be remembered fondly.
Let me share one of those times with ya'all.
It was towards the end of winter, down south, I had plans to attend an
operatic performance with dinner afterwards. When I am "Me", plans can
always change unexpectedly. Dinner afterwards was to be with a very good
friend who was called out to work, hence her cancellation of our dinner
plans. I wasn't going to miss getting out, so off I went. The opera was
very enjoyable; I wore a pantsuit just cause I didn't wish to have the
problem of holding my skirt when sliding in and or out of the seat.
I was feeling very good; no problem with the world is another way of
putting it. I stopped by a local gay club noted for their beautiful
women performers and gorgeous boytoy bartenders. I enjoyed my hours with
in the club; the drinks were just right, the conversations interesting -
suggestive and amusing, the food urbane but filling and the floor show -
outrageous, flirty and very suggestive.
Afterwards, I got up from my table and did a weaving dance out to the
door. Outside the club, I walked towards my little red Honda I
encountered a trio of cutties waltzing towards me. They were supporting
the middle guy; I asked if they needed help thinking they might need some
urgent care.
I was told by the raven haired one on my left, it was the middle blonde's
birthday. Feeling rather mischievous, I told them to hold onto the
blondie, then bend down and kissed the birthday boy till his friends
cried foul cause they wanted a kiss or three.
I could not refuse, it just wasn't in me that moment to deny these
pretties - I gave each of them a kiss to remember Me by, plus a wee bit
extra.
I drove to my favorite Waffle House to get some nourishment and several
wakeup cups of coffee. I spent the next few hours with friends, crew and
patrons who came in for their own needs. To me, this Waffle House always
has a floorshow going on cause of the diversity of clientele they have
coming in.
I left just as dawn was breaking through the eastern clouds of the new
day. I drove home, parked my little baby. Unlocked my door, walked in
and was accosted by my cats who thought I had abandoned them. I kicked
my heels off, fed my poor darlings and changed out their water, then
trooped up the stairs to my beckoning bed. I changed out of my clothing,
hanging of what need to be and tossing the rest into the hamper, washed
my face and brushed my hair and teeth, then falling into bed almost
immediately asleep with a smile on my face.
