Felix Cassidy scanned his computer screen slowly, checking to make sure

breath, opened the menu for the current program he was working in, and

Felix thought to himself. For the past four months the young college
graduate has either worked to perfect his project or taken side jobs in web
design and programming to pay the bills. As he stood up and stretched he
looked emotionlessly at the sparse apartment he moved into. Other than his
desk, which sat in the center of his apartment with wires running all over
the place, and the impressive TV which was mounted on the wall, there
really wasn't much to Felix's apartment. The island-city of Caravel Bay
seemed to hold enough promise which disappeared the moment the economy
crashed. Even if he understood multiple programming languages and had some
college under his belt Felix was consistently told he lacked "interpersonal
skills", which prevented him from having a chance at the few jobs that were
still available.
'No matter', Felix mused. 'So long as this invention actually works, I'll
be able to just take anything that I need'. Glancing at the laptop screen
he noticed that the first batch of nanobots still had eight hours to go.
Realizing that he slept very little over the past couple days he suddenly
grew immensely tired. 'Guess I could catch up on sleep until this finishes'
he concluded. Walking over to the bed and stretching out Felix thought
about all of the possibilities of his new invention.
From a young age Felix was obsessed with the idea of mind control because
of the ultimate power it provided the wielder. After quickly ruling out
magic as a possibility and thinking that old-fashioned swinging pocket
watches were nothing but a joke the inquisitive young man turned to
science. He was determined to discover a method to biologically dominate
others. The possibilities seemed endless: reforming criminals, creating the
perfect super soldiers, maybe even curing diseases. It certainly had the
potential to make him an immensely wealthy man.
The idea also made him the laughing stock of his university. No one
believed what he could do was possible and even if it could happen the uses
would certainly be highly unethical. His insistence on exploring the topic
resulted in Felix losing his scholarship with the school. Not having any
family to fall back on since he never knew his parents and his grandfather
passed away a year ago with nothing for Felix to inherit, he took the few
belongings he had and bought a one-way bus ticket to Caravel City.
Yet his passion still burned brightly. There still could be a chance if he
could prove everyone wrong and then exact revenge on his deep
embarrassment. After a few mistrials and errors it seemed as if he finally
figured out a way to make it work. The result of all his hard work was a
series of complex nanobots. These miniature robots, once introduced to a
host, moved throughout the entire body, attaching themselves to muscles and
the nervous system. The robots would dramatically reduce the pain receptors
of the host, resulting in a figure which was genetically enhanced and
virtually indestructible.
A problem continued to persist however. How could Felix make these new
androids completely obedient to his commands? A psychological shroud
blanketed the brainstem, which would prevent any bots from theoretically
planting themselves there and thus giving Felix total domination. If he
attempted to destroy the shroud a powerful shockwave would flow throughout
the nervous system of the host, resulting in death. The shroud needed to
remain down long enough for the bots to take root and be accepted as
organic matter by the body. Deeper research allowed Felix to discover that
the shroud was directly linked to the gender of the host.
The solution that Felix came up with was to switch the gender of the host
by having the bots reorder the genetic material that determined the sex of
the host. This would result in the shroud lifting long enough for the bots
to take root and yield absolute control of Felix's new playthings. Once all
of the nanobots gained control of the host Felix discovered that it was
essential to give his new foot soldier a name. This new name became
critical to establishing control over the robots and cementing their new
identities. Since it could be problematic if all of his new subjects began
their lives under Felix completely naked, and could reduce the possibility
of public conversions of people, Felix also designed the bots to give a
"gender appropriate" makeover of the host's current clothing. Because all
of this meant some sort of robo-herem could be created Felix decided to
keep some of the genuine emotional responses of his new subjects intact.
Simply creating a series of sex bimbos wasn't the point in this, although
he wouldn't turn down any enticing possibilities, he smirked to himself.
After overcoming this issue the next step seemed to be how to transmit the
nanobots to the target. The bots were unable to survive long outside of a
host and traveling extensive distances would reduce the total amount of
energy available for the nanobots to do their work. Felix concluded that
the bots could be transmitted through drinks and liquid, so long as they
did not remain in that environment for an extended period, or through a
dart or needle. Felix created a small tranquilizer gun for just such a
purpose as well as syringes which he could possibly pass on to his current
androids when acquiring a new host. He even created an option to control
the exact moment when the conversion could begin so that a host could be
injected with nanobots and later converted at a more convenient time.
Satisfied that he thought of virtually every contingency Felix continued to
stretch out on the bed, smile proudly to himself, and drift quickly into a
deep sleep...
