Katey asked from the other room.

The day before Halloween, a delivery man arrived with the costumes Katey
had ordered a few days earlier. Katey eagerly signed for the delivery
and called for me.
I arrived to see her opening the box. She pulled out two bags and threw
one to me.

I put the bag down and watched as she took her outfit out of the bag.
Her outfit consisted of a short yellow and black dress, with ruffles on

I picked up the bag and started to take each item out. Firstly I pulled
out a black police hat. This wasn't in the color I was expecting, but I
smiled and put it on.
Then I pulled out a light blue shirt with "Officer Goodbody" written on
the pocket. This certainly wasn't a romper, and it was obvious this
costume was different to the one I ordered. I looked in the bag and
pulled out a studded belt, a black mini skirt and a skimpy g-string.
"Umm. This is certainly hotter than I was expecting," I said with a
puzzled look.
"Nothing too hot for you to handle" Katey said with a laugh as she
skipped towards the box. "There was a note, let me give it a quick look

She began reading.

run out of stock.
Realising you needed a costume in time for halloween, we picked a

going as a 'Dirty Deputy'?" she continued as she read the costume label.

I walked into the bedroom and immediately noticed the sexy cops uniform
laid out on the bed.
Katey threw me a pair of panties.
"Here, start with these. That g-string won't do. These panties will keep

This was already very odd, my own body was feeling different. I ran my
hands down my body, and then suddenly looked to see if Katey noticed.
She didn't.
"You can put your costume on now, sexy," Katey said as she motioned to
the costume on the bed. I put my legs through the black miniskirt, and
pulled it up. I fastened the zipper on the back and picked up the top
next and put it on. I then tried to put the belt on before Katey
interrupted, "Honey, that belt goes over your midriff - to accentuate
your figure!"
I complied and stood there while she looked me over. "Very sexy! You
have the figure for it!"
I casually glanced over to the mirror. She wasn't kidding.
She walked over to me holding a pair of black leather pumps. "I hope
these fit. They're a girl's secret to feeling that extra bit sexy." She
knelt down and slid my foot into one of the shoes. I felt like
Cinderella with her glass slipper.
"Feel alright?" Katey asked.
"Yeah, well - a bit tight to be honest."
Katey took the shoe off, got up and walked to the closet. She pulled out
a pair of black pantyhose, and started dancing towards me, using the
pantyhose as a feather boa. "Take your skirt off and give these a try."
I lowered the zipper on the skirt and let them fall down my legs. I sat
down on the bed and lifted a leg as I carefully slid the stocking over
it, then repeating the process for the other leg.
As I started to put the skirt back on, Katey remarked "I've never seen a
man put pantyhose on before, but you certainly made me hot watching
you!." I blushed as I fastened the zipper of the skirt.
Katey knelt down again and put the heels back on my feet. This time they

I walked over to the mirror, taking the heels into account and taking

laid my hands on the table, and she began to carefully apply the nail
polish to each of my fingers. I noted the color was called

"After this I'll do your makeup, honey. I want you to pay attention in
case you ever want to do it yourself."
"Katey, I'm not planning on doing this often!" I quickly blurted out.

fabulous! If this is the last time you wear makeup that's fine, but this
night is far from over and you might need to give yourself a touch-up
anyway."
"Okay, Katey. Thanks."
"My pleasure, Kev! Now your nails are done, so let's get started on your
face."
"Okay, hun. I'm putting a bit of foundation on," Katey said as she
applied some makeup to a sponge and applied it to my face. "You look so
much more youthful now!"
Next, Katey started applying eyeshadow. She started teaching me how to
apply what she called "a smokey look." I took mental notes, but it
seemed like something easier said than done. She applied some mascara to
the eyelashes, and said that completed the eyes.
Then she pulled out some lipstick and started applying it to my lips,
after that she put some lipgloss on. She then pulled out a brush and
started applying blush to my cheeks.
I looked in the mirror and was amazed by the difference the makeup made!
As I was studying my features, Katey spritzed some perfume on me.
Katey walked to the closet and returned with a long, light brown wig.
She handed me the wig, and I put it on as my stomach was starting to
turn in knots. I closed my eyes as Katey started fussing with the wig.
"Perfect! Take a gander at the pretty lady who joined us!"
I turned to the mirror with some slight resignation - I became scared
that the completed image would fall flat, I found myself hoping I looked
good. Much to my relief, the image that met me was indeed that of a very
pretty lady! I doubted anyone would even know I was a man.
"I can't believe I'm looking at myself!" I finally gushed out.
"So, honey? What's your name?" Katey said with a big smile as she talked
to the image in the mirror.
"Vivian. Viv," I said without hesitation. I didn't know where that came
from.
"Oh, how delightful to meet you Viv! I hope we see a lot more of you
around here!," Katey said as she gave me a sideways hug.
I didn't know what to say, but I turned and gave Katey a coy smile.
"Now, Viv. Be a dear and help me with my bee costume. Then we'll head
off to the party!"

Discovery
We arrived at the party a little late. We were always a little late when
Katey drove, but I wasn't bothered about it. Normally I was fussy about
timing, but for now I felt relaxed, like I was walking on clouds. I had
a slight skip to my step, I was feeling "dainty" and "feminine," I
suppose. I had never felt those feelings before, so I wasn't really
sure. I'd even started thinking about how I'd look in Katey's dresses,
but I stopped myself from dwelling on it. Surely this novelty feeling
would wear off soon, it was just a curiosity. I certainly didn't tell
Katey any of this.
At the door, Katey pressed the buzzer. Her friend Belinda opened up the
door, and the two girls quickly exchanged hugs. Belinda was dressed as
Alice from Alice in Wonderland.
"You're looking fabulous, babe!" Belinda told Katey. "And who's your
friend?"
"Oh Thanks, Bel! You look fabulous too! This is my friend, Viv!"
"Pleased to meet you, Viv! Oh, but do come in darlings! Make yourselves
at home, I'll meet up with you girls later," Belinda said as she started
to make her way to the kitchen.
I looked slack jawed at Katey. I had met Belinda before, didn't she
recognize me? And why was Katey introducing me as Vivian?
Reading my mind, Katey pulled me closer and whispered: "Eventually
people are going to put two and two together, honey. But for now, just
enjoy your time as Viv! Don't feel like you should act like a man in a
dress, just act like a woman! Have fun." She then kissed my cheek.
"There's Richard. You always hang out with him at these parties, let's
go see if he figures it out!"
We made our way to Richard, but I started to feel very self-conscious.
Richard was one of Belinda's friends. I didn't see him very often but at
Belinda's parties we'd always end up talking to each other and spending
some time together. He was dressed as a robber, wearing a black and
white striped outfit and an eye mask.
"Robber meet Cop. Cop meet robber," Katey said as she approached
Richard.
"Kate! Good to see you," Richard said as he gave her a warm hug.
Richard began to look me over, "If I had known the police looked this
good, I would've avoided living a life of crime!"
"Vivian," I said as I held out my hand nervously for a shake.
"Charmed. I'm Richard," he said as he took my hand and planted a gentle
kiss on my wrist.
"You told me Kevin was coming as a stripper cop though. Where is he? I
wanted to see that!" Richard asked Katey.
"Well, there was a slight change of plan," Katey grinned as she gave me
a sideways hug.
"No way! Kevin? It's you, isn't it?"
"Keep it hush-hush, Rich. For now, she's Viv," Katey winked to Richard.
"Of course. Of course. And you're a very beautiful woman, Vivian, if you
don't mind me saying so."
"Of course not. Thank you!," I gushed. Did I just gush? I suddenly felt
a lot more confident.
"I knew you'd be a gentleman about it, Richard. Anyway, I'm going to
check in on Bel, see you two a bit later," Katey said before walking
off.
Richard began eyeing me again. "Unbelievable! Is this something you do
often? I mean, if I'm not prying?"
"Actually, believe it or not, this is my first time. And I'm as
surprised as you are, if not more so!"
"Really? You seem so natural, so at ease. Like you've done this before.
It's none of my business, but I don't have a problem with you doing this
sort of thing. In fact, I'm finding it all quite interesting."
"Like I said, believe it or not. But thanks, Richard. I do feel quite at
ease. You always seemed like such an open guy Rich, but I'm relieved you
find me interesting, rather than confusing or something worse."
"Think nothing of it. This is a bonus for me anyway, I enjoy talking to
you at these parties, but now you're so much more appealing to the eye!"
I laughed and tried to give Richard a playful punch. I was caught off
guard by the heels though and that threw my balance off. I tumbled
forward, as Richard caught me in his arms.
"I thought the cop was supposed to catch the robber," Richard said as he
helped me regain my balance.
"I told you it was my first time. Thanks for being my dashing hero
though," I said while presumably blushing like a tomato.
Just then a lady came to talk to us. She was dressed as Cleopatra.
"Oh, don't you two make such a cute couple! And with your matching
outfits you have a good chance of winning the 'Best Dressed Couple'
award!"
I was still flustered, so Richard spoke. "Thank you! Out of interest, is
there a prize?"
"Yes, I believe the 'Best Dressed Couple' prize is a lingerie set. I've
seen it, it's simply to die for and I'm sure your girlfriend will look
so sexy in it! I'm one of the judges, you know, and between the three of
us - you two have my vote," she smiled.
"Oh, thank you so much, but we're not a couple," I quickly blurted out.
"We're just friends."
"Oh, I'm sorry lovely. You'd make a cute couple though, and you still
have my vote. That lingerie would look just divine on you, and I'm sure
your friend won't mind helping you win it," she winked.
"I don't mind at all. Thank you," Richard responded.
With that the lady walked off. As we watched her leave, I noticed Katey
making her way back to us.
"So, did Lucinda figure it out?" Katey asked me.
"No. In fact, she thought Richard and I were a couple."
"Oh really? That's too cute!" Katey laughed.
Richard added, "She actually insisted on voting for us in some 'Best
Dressed' contest. Said Vivian here could win herself some lingerie."
"Oh, wow!," Katey said with some surprise. "You know," Katey dragged out
the 'w', "I shouldn't tell you this but Bel just asked me to judge the
costumes too. With three judges, and two votes that lingerie is yours!
That is if you want it?"
"I don't know. I think it's best to go to someone who'll actually use
it," I said trying hide my unexpected excitement.
"Oh, poo! Don't be such a martyr. Most of the women here will only wear
it once or twice, and then it'll end up in the back of the closet
waiting for a rainy day that'll never come. Don't think like Kevin now,
honey. Think like Vivian. Now Viv, are you telling me you don't want

I looked at Katey, and then I looked at Richard. Was I going to admit I
wanted that lingerie in front of a guy? Apparently I was, "Yes, I mean
no. I mean ... yes, Vivian does."
"Then it's practically a done deal!" Katey beamed. "I'm so excited, your

Ever practical, I asked, "Yes, but aren't we supposed to be a couple to
win? How will that work out?"
Richard replied, "It's no big deal, we just keep close, hold hands, kiss
passionately, and then do it doggy style in front of everyone. That's
what couples do, right?"
"You keep your hands off my angel, Richard!" Katey joked as she gave him
a hard hit on the shoulder. "Just keep each others company, that's all
it'll take honey, you were gonna do that anyway, so that's not a
problem. I'm sure Richard will be a gentleman."
Richard took me by surprise as he put his arm around me. "I've never
known myself to be a gentleman, but I can only promise to behave," he
said with a smirk. It suddenly occured to me that even with heels on,
Richard was a good deal taller than me. I felt quite petite and enjoyed
the feeling.
"Well, you better. I gotta zip off again. Gotta mingle and judge
outfits," Katey said.
"You're always such a busy bee. You chose the perfect outfit," I said.
Katey made some buzzing noises as she walked off. Richard still had his
arm around me. "So. First time, eh? Sounds like there'll be a second,
and a third, and a fourth, ...."
I interrupted him, "Yeah, yeah. What does that make me? I don't wanna
say it, I don't wanna think about it too hard."
Richard tightened his grip on me. "It makes you special. I'm seeing
something beautiful develop in you. It's weird, but I feel like I should
protect you and give you the space to allow that something to blossom.
I'd like the see more of Vivian. I also want to see more of Kevin, mind
you. But I think it would be a waste to throw whatever you're feeling
now away." Richard put his other arm around me, and gave me a gentle
kiss on the forehead. "Does that make any sense?"
In that moment, I closed my eyes and held Richard tightly. "Thank you. I
had no idea how much I wanted to hear that." I was fighting back the
tears, but I recovered. We stopped hugging and I took a deep breath.

Pensive
For most of the party Richard and I had spent time together and created
a deeper connection than we previously had. I quickly felt safe in his
company. In the few moments we weren't together, a few of the other men
had shown some interest in me, but Richard's return would quickly leave
them feeling defeated. I had to admit their interest made me feel good.
I was feeling some strange feelings along with that though. I could
imagine myself enjoying being taken out as Vivian, enjoying a meal and a
dance, being held by a man and feeling like nothing could hurt me.
Katey was always in my thoughts though, and I wouldn't hurt her.
Especially now, she was feeling like the best friend I ever had. I still
wasn't sure if I'd go so far as to have sex with a man, but my
attraction to Katey was still in place, and for now that was the most
important relationship in my life.

Bestowal
The time for the best dressed awards had arrived.
Richard took my hand and led me to the gathering crowd, giving my hand a
slight squeeze of encouragement.
Belinda started, "Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone here for attending
my party! You've all made this evening so enjoyable. I'd also like to
thank everyone for the effort taken with the costumes - you've certainly
made the judging process a whole lot harder!"
"Wearing a costume is a way of giving us the freedom to act in ways we
aren't expected to act, and maybe experience life in ways we wouldn't
ordinarily experience. With this atmosphere in mind, we are excited to
announce tonight's winners!"
"The first prize is for the best dressed couple. They'll win this
delightful lingerie set. Our winners are ... Richard and Vivian as the cop
and robber!" Everyone clapped as Richard and I walked to the center.
Lucinda was standing with the prize and handed it to me with a smile. We
kissed cheeks and exchanged pleasantries. As Richard and I were about to
walk off, Belinda spoke, "Let's see a kiss then, shall we?"
I was suddenly frozen. My chest tightened, and I looked to Katey for
support. She just gave me a nod, she wasn't looking happy though. I
looked to Richard, and he looked back at me with a little concern. I
would have stood there forever, but I suddenly felt weak as Richard held
me tightly in his arms and planted his lips on mine. And just as
suddenly as it started, it ended. I was left standing confused. I had
kissed a man. To to sound of wolf whistles and applause, I made my way
back into the crowd. Katey wouldn't like this, this was becoming more
complicated than it should have.
Belinda continued, "The second prize is for the best dressed woman.
She'll win this voucher for a day of pampering at the spa. And the
winner is ... Trisha as an 80's rocker!" Everyone clapped as Trisha went
to collect her prize. Her costume was stunning, and I was slightly
jelous. I began thinking about what I should wear next year to have a
chance at that prize. I laughed inwardly as I suddenly realized I had
already decided to be a woman.
"Now the final prize is for the best dressed man. He'll win this
electric razor set. And the winner is ... Kevin as Vivian!." I felt frozen
again. This was certainly not supposed to happen.
As if on autopilot I walked up to collect the prize. The crowd wasn't
sure how to react, there was an applause but my chest felt a suddent
pain when I heard someone yell out "freak." It was from one of the men
who had shown an interest in me.
Lucinda handed me the razor set and told me not to take the comment to
heart. She told me to wait around, she wanted to talk to me. I turned
around and suddenly felt all alone facing the crowd. I had enjoyed my
time as a woman, but now that I was outed as a man I felt like hiding.
The kiss with Richard also played through my mind, this was something
that would haunt me I began to think. I began to tear up.
Suddenly, I felt an arm comfort me. I looked and saw Katey looking with
concern at me. She gave me a quick kiss on the cheek and told me
everything would be alright. I felt another arm comfort me and this time
turned to see Richard's face. "I'm so sorry," he offered.
"Let's go somewhere private," Katey said as she led me to a room.
Richard followed.
"I'm so sorry, Katey," Richard started once we were in the room. "That
kiss shouldn't have happened. I just went with the moment, and it felt
like the right thing to do."
"It doesn't matter, Richard. I know Belinda said you two should kiss,
and I figured you'd want to keep the act up. I don't blame you."
"If Belinda knew I was Kevin, why'd she want us to kiss?" I said, still
close to tears.
"I don't know, honey. I'm sure she was just being playful. She probably
didn't think much of it. I'm just more worried that that jerk made you
lose all the momentum you gained today."
I finally let go and the tears ran down my cheek. "But, I am a freak! I
wanted to win that lingerie, I want to win Best Dressed Woman, I keep
thinking about how I'll look in your dresses, I kissed a man and I don't
know how I feel about that, and now everyone knows! They know I'm a
freak!"
"Oh honey, it's just been a confusing night. You're not a freak, you're
the most special man in my life. You need some time to process it all
and work out how you feel, but I'm here for you. You're welcome to wear
my dresses whenever you want. Don't feel bad about it, I'm here to help
you, honey."
"For what it's worth, Katey, I'm also here for Vivian. I'd better get
going though, I'll leave you two alone." With that, Richard left the
room.
"Now, honey, you have two choices," Katey said as she lifted my chine to
look me in the eye. "Go back out there looking like a wreck and let the
jerk win, or fix your makeup and walk out proud. It's not easy but I'm
here."
I looked in the mirror. "Could you help me?" I said as I began to dry
the tears.

Phoenix
With my makeup fixed, I took a final look in the mirror. I was still
amazed at the beautiful woman staring back. I took Katey's hand and
walked towards the door, taking a deep breath as I turned the handle.
I entered the party again, trying my best to give a smile. A few woman
made their way to the two of us.
"I'm so sorry about what happened. My idiot ex-boyfriend is gone and I
hope I never see him again." One of the woman immediately said as she
rubbed my arm. "I'm Trisha by the way."
It was the woman who won the Best Dressed Woman prize.
"Thank you. I'm feeling much better. I love your costume.
Congratulations on winning," I said as I gave her a small hug.
"We think you look amazing," another woman said. "You'd never know. It's
really amazing."
"Yes, and we wanted to let you know we're here for you.," a third woman
said. "We meet up every week for a woman's outing and we'd like for you
to join us some time."
"If you need clothes, I'd be happy to help you out. I run a boutique and
you're welcome to borrow whatever you fancy," Trisha offered. "These are
Regina and Abigail by the way."
"Thank you so much ladies. Of course! That sounds wonderful, I'd love to
join you. Is there room for one more though? I wouldn't be half the
woman I am before you without Katey," I said with a wink.
"Of course!" they all said. We exchanged details and I found myself very
much looking forward to meeting them. We said our goodbyes and the women
left us alone again.
"You're looking like you're on top of the world again," Katey said with
a big smile. "You know, you could wear one of my dresses to this get
together. I'd be happy to lend you one, but it looks like we need to
start thinking about getting you your own dresses."
"Thank you," I said as I gave Katey a big bug. "I'd really like that."
Just then Lucinda arrived. "Is this a good time, dearie?"
I smiled and nodded. "Yes, it's turning about to be a perfect time."
"Oh, isn't that marvelous!" she smiled. "Dearie, I just wanted to tell
you that I still can't believe you're a man. I like to think I can see
beneath the skin though, and I see only a beautiful woman. I'd like to
ask you a favor though, if you'd humor me for a minute?"
"Certainly. Do go on."
"My 8 year old son. I recently found him wearing my clothes. At first I
was shocked, I must admit, but I want to support my son. I'd like for
you to be around in his life as a positive role model. I know it's a big
responsibility, but I'd really like for him to grow up feeling like he
can relate to someone. You don't need to babysit him of course, but just
visit our family every so often as Vivian. Let's leave it up to him
whether he opens up to you."
"Oh my. This is quite new to me as well," I admitted. "He has a head
start on me, but I can certainly try and do my best."
"Oh, that's marvellous dearie! I'm very exicted!" Suddenly her voice
went serious. "Oh, and Sunday best dearie, remember to dress as a lady
would in the company of a young boy." She looked at me sternly, and then
laughed, "I'm sure you'll manage dearie, only pulling your leg.."
We exchanged contact details, and then she left me alone with Katey once
again.
"Well, Vivian is certainly getting a busy social life," Katey said as
she jokingly hit my arm. "The party is winding down though, should we
leave?"
"Oh yes! I'm pooped! What a night, I can't wait to get home and take
these heels off!"
"And I can't wait to see you in your lingerie. Will you be wearing it
tonight?"
"I can't think of a reason not to," I winked.
