Hydrodynamics cybernetics: It's In the Programming by Galadriel
Authors note:
This is my first contribution for an extremely long time; my aim was to
try and write as much of the story in a single session to see if it
improves my writing quality.
Update December 2013: This story is a bit of a pet project; I am finally
happy enough with the updates after heavy revisions, including the use of
tenses and the ending in the hope it flows better.
If I receive reasonably positive response I may add to the Hydrodynamics
cybernetics universe, I have a number of story ideas in my head.
Story

Jeff Kline is 27 and a stereotypical computer programmer with longish
unkempt brown hair, bad fashion sense and yes he is single!
Jeff was sitting at his office desk with listening to a heavy metal band
on his iPod, he works as a software engineer for Hydrodynamics
Cybernetics Ltd in the 'special projects' division, designing and
implementing realistic human cybernetic mannequins, he was forbidden from
discussing the work with people outside of his team.
Jeff had been so engrossed in the music he hadn't noticed his boss
walking up to his desk, he nearly screamed with shock when she tapped his
shoulder.
"Jeff, we have just tested the latest firmware for the motion control
system and it went mad again, poor Richard is nursing a few bruises,"
Claire smirked.
"Damn it, I spent the whole of last weekend testing my code changes, he
couldn't have installed it properly, I have fixed all the bugs that were
raised in the previous version, it's not my fault," Jeff sighed.
Claire handed Jeff a USB stick saying "Here is the latest test data and
footage; I will expect the bug fixed within a fortnight, the customers
are due in at the end of the month to take delivery of the first batch,
it's not close to being in a ready state."
"Sorry about that, I will get this bug! By the way who our customers
please? I have asked twice before and never got a straight answer."
"I am sorry but I didn't hear what you said, right?" Claire responded and
walked away, the steel tips on her boots made a clicking noise on the
concrete floor, Jeff snuck a peek at her as she walked away, wishing he
had been born as a female.
Jeff sighed and put the USB stick into his PC, slouching in his chair he
started to play back the integration testing video footage, he watched
the mannequins left arm extended, then the whole thing started to go wild
and flail its arm, whacking Richard several times before it's arm was
ripped off due to the force of the movement, spilling hydraulic fluid all
over Richard, the test engineers and floor.
After a couple of hours of looking through the source code Jeff sighed,
locking his workstation, he got up and headed to the hardware lab,
officially he doesn't have access to it, although the security system was
bypass after considerable effort, giving him full access to all the labs,
although some have manual key pads, which he avoided.
It was now gone seven o'clock in the evening, apart from a few late
workers the office was empty, arriving at the outer security door, after
he checked no one was around, he swiped himself into one of the larger
labs using a hacked access card, all of the walls have sterile white
cupboards with typed labels such as '6v motor' and 'fuses'. In the
middle of the room is a non-descript white mannequin.
Jeff was in the Project Annabelle lab, the first time Jeff discovered it
he was hooked, he walked up to one of the computers and logged into it,
after thirty seconds it prompts him "Please insert scan data," he took a
USB stick attached to the lanyard around his neck and inserted it, the
computer screen flashed and then a message box displayed "Welcome Claire,
ready to proceed?" Eagerly he clicked the yes button, the mannequin
jerked back and then started to glow, and a few seconds later it
transformed into a perfect naked copy of his boss Claire.
Smiling, Jeff walked up to the Claire Doppelganger and ran his hands over
its body, feeling how perfect it was, it had taken him over two months to
work out the basic operations of the system, although he still hadn't
worked out what it was for, there was a large manifold combination filing
cabinet which had a seal on it in the corner, it probably contained
documentation.
The system messages showed it was still in early stages, using his
hacking skills, he had managed to bypass the security system and hide his
illegal access.
Using his smartphone he had sneakily taken photos of Claire to generate
the customer file, the big issue was the system had a lot of bugs, he had
already fixed a few, which probably had confused the project team, but
each view of the Claire mannequin was getting him aroused.
Jeff unbuttoned his jeans and let them fall on the floor, followed by his
pants, he was already fully erect, he slipped on a condom and penetrated
the virtual Claire, then started to thrust, closing his eyes imagining
being Claire and how it must feel to penetrated. He looked at the
mannequin and saw it was destabilising, he quickly removed himself, just
in time, before it to reverted back to its plain form. "Damn," he
muttered as got dressed, he brought up the source code on a closest
workstation, the comments were written in a language in some form of
code, he guessed they were in code in case of unauthorised access.
He decided it was time to head home; he erased the access logs his tracks
and carefully put everything back as it was before, as he was leaving he
felt a brief tingle in his left hand, he swore it briefly shimmered like
the mannequin, but it couldn't have, it was late and he put it down to
being tired. Arriving home, after a snack he fell asleep on the sofa.
Waking up with a jolt, Jeff realises it was 10am and he was late for work
again, he got up and had a shower, again he felt a tingle in his left
hand. After dressing he drove into work and then found to apologise for
being late, making up an excuse.
"Got any ideas how long before you will fix the motion control system?"
Claire asked happily.
"I am working on it, I currently have no idea what is wrong. Why are you
in such a good mood?"
"Another project has made a major break breakthrough," Claire responded.
Jeff was hoping Claire was referring to his unofficial second project,
maybe they had finally fixed some of the bugs, and unknowingly she was
talking about the fix he had made the night before.
A group of people walked past Jeff's desk, including a stunningly
beautiful woman in a grey trouser suit wearing blood red nail varnish,
they were wearing badges with the Project Annabelle logo, some of the
group were holding clipboards, he wanted to work on the project but he
knew if asked, they would know he had been snooping and even possibly
investigated,
Lost in thought about the mysterious guest, Jeff suddenly felt his left
arm tingle to the point of being slightly painful, his arm and hand had
changed into a feminine hand, which had the same blood red nail varnish
on his nails as the visitor, slightly panicked he put his hand under the
desk, before it had reached the desk, it returned to normal. Perplexed
and slightly worried, Jeff wondered what that mannequin actually did when
it was activated; he decided the only way to find out would be to visit
the lab again after work.
By 7:30pm Jeff's office was completely dead, although the office was a
massive five-storey building, which housed nearly 900 employees. After
clearing his desk of paperwork and making sure cupboards were locked he
stashed a small rucksack in his pedestal and heading for the secure labs,
making sure the security system registered him leaving. When he reached
the non-secure section, he took his second pass out his wallet under the
pseudo name of Joanne Barker, which he used for the door swipes to get to
the lab.
To Jeff's surprise, a laptop was powered up on one of the lab desks,
displaying some schematics, next to it was a USB stick with 'Mary-Anne
Jenkins profile' written on it, excited he hoped it was the women he saw
earlier, he was getting hard thinking about it. After deactivated the
security system, which turned out to be easy as crashing the application.
He then put the USB stick into the laptop, "Welcome Mary-Jane, ready to
proceed?" appeared as a prompt on the screen, he hammered the confirm
button, the mannequin shimmered and then changed into an exact copy of of
the women he saw earlier.
He walked over and caressed the mannequins boobs, then moved his hand
down between its leg and felt it's crotch, he was almost wetting himself
with anticipation, he dropped his trousers and pants, he penetrated the
mannequin and started to make out with it, he was so aroused and high
with sexual tension he did not notice the mannequin was destabilising,
starting with the legs, going up to the thighs and then the crotch.
Jeff felt the crotch getting tighter, he didn't realise what was going on
until it was too late and he could not remove his penis, it was then that
he noticed the mannequin had completely destabilised, he tried to remove
his hands from its hips, but they were stuck, he looked down and noticed
his legs had turned the same shimmering colour as the mannequin (now back
to its default state), he felt cold going up his lower body as it changed
into a copy of the mannequin, he tried to scream but nothing came out, he
could not longer move.
30 seconds later Jeff heard the computer say "Program terminating due to
excess mass detection, recovery started," he noticed that he had shrunk,
he realised he was looking out of eyes of the mannequin, panic and fear
set in as he couldn't move or talk, the computer stated "System has been
restored, logging subsystem resumed".
Jeff realised that no one knew what had happened; his pass had fallen to
the floor, the system had not logged anything and he was helpless, his
only hope that when someone activated the system he could explain, after
a while the lights in the lab automatically turned off, only leaving the
void of darkness.
An unknown amount of time has passed when the lab lights flickered on,
dazing Jeff, there was a click and the door swung opened, the same group
of people he had seen before enter, except with Claire and not the pretty
women. One of the men was carrying a large bag, which he put on a chair
close to Jeff, another started the program and he heard the "Starting
Mary-Anne Jenkins profile, Artificial intelligence and obedience modules
initialising," he felt his whole body tingle and then re-sculpt itself,
he had been converted into the shape the mannequin had taken, slightly
excited and scared he tried to talk but could not, he also realised he
was standing buck naked in front of a group of strangers.
A man picked up Jeff's forged pass off the floor, examined it and then
handed it to Claire saying, "Do you recognised this team member?"
"No, I don't recognise the name, we suspected an intruder and now we have
proof," Claire said calmly.
"Mary-Anne, please get dressed, your clothes are in the usual place,"
Claire said. Without hesitation he walked over to the bag, getting
dressed in the trouser suit.
"I am ready and waiting Mr Varses," Jeff said in a slightly sultry tone,
he hadn't been planning on saying that, he wasn't sure how he knew his
name. He tried to say something about what had happened but couldn't,
the AI program was calling the shots!
"We need to test your systems and reactions, enable routine 10a," one of
the technicians said, Jeff somehow knew was called Roy.
"Which Attach? staff member am I after today please Roy?" Jeff asked.
"Hubert Julian, he's dining at Fromage Flaire," he said.
Jeff could recall images and scenes of him chatting up diplomatic staff,
including performing sexual acts to ensnare them, he desperately tried to
say something or run but instead he felt compelled to pick up Mary-Anne's
security badge and walk to a taxi he knew was waiting. As he walked out
the project room he realised it must be a normal workday as the office
was full, a few guys he recognised eyed him up as he walked pass them,
the way he was walking was causing his hips to gyrate.
As Jeff got to the main door he noticed a black cab taxi waiting for me,
he opened the door and got it saying, "31 Bluebell Street please".
Fromage Flaire was an upmarket bar, Jeff went in and found himself
ordering a girly pink cocktail, perching on a bar stool, fifteen minutes
later Hubert arrived and headed for the bar, where he sat and ordered a
drink, waiting a short while he undone the top button of his blouse to
show the red lacy bra and more cleavage and introduced him to Hubert, it
didn't take Jeff long to have him eating out of his hands.
A few hour later Jeff left a hotel room, which he had shared with Hubert,
they had sex, although he had cold shivers each time he recalled giving
him a blow job, semen dribbling down out of Jeff's mouth and over his
boobs. Whilst Hubert was a sleep Jeff searched his wallet, taking his
driving license.
As Jeff sat in the cab, he tried to calm himself, he felt disgusted that
allowed himself be used like a puppet, he felt and remembered every
touch, each bit of semen on him and being penetrated, this was not what
being a girl was meant to feel like, he wanted to throw but couldn't.
Jeff returned to the office, at the reception Mr Varses was waiting
patiently, they went back to the lab where visual logs of the events for
the day were transferred to the main computer and reviewed.
"Mary-Anne seemed to be almost hesitant at times, we will have to get the
developers to review the obedience system and make it stricter, stage two
can be started as soon, well done everyone, let's call it a day" said Mr
Varses as he typed something into the laptop.
Jeff found himself undressing and returning to the dock port, a few
minutes later Jeff was no longer Mary-Anne, instead a featureless
mannequin. Soon everyone left and he was alone again, he was freaking
out as he this wasn't his idea of women hood.
A red flashing message appeared on the open laptop, 'System exception
caught, rebooting in safe mode', suddenly he could move again, but he was
still the non-descript mannequin, for the time being he was more
concerned with getting out of the lab, he went to the door and tried it,
then realised he didn't have a pass, his short lived euphoria turned back
into panic.
Jeff started by going through the cupboards and draws, miraculously
hoping for a spare pass, but instead he found a box marked 'Annabelle
(Project stage 2)', he opened it and found clothes for what looked like a
16 year old girl along a USB pen with a sticker on it stating 'Profile
(unstable build)'.
Jeff was not sure how long he had been scrambling around or what the time
was, but it sounded like people were starting to arrive for work and he
was not sure if and when the team would return, he put the USB pen into
the laptop and pressed the confirmation button, after 15 seconds he was
female again, somehow he knew he was now Annabelle Mathis, aged 18 who
lived at 135 Parklands, London.
Deciding haste was the best course of action he put on the clothes he
found in the box. In between the skirt and t-shirt were a makeup mirror
and a security pass; opening the mirror up he saw the reflection of a
slim, reasonably busty brunette staring back. Picking up the pass, his
heart was racing at the thought of escaping the lab, he swiped the pass
and the door lock clicked open, as he was about to leave a frightening
thought came to him, he was still just a mannequin and he could possibly
be deactivated remotely.
Jeff returned to the laptop, accessed the source code and with adept
skills erased it and all the local backups, after ensuring there weren't
any remote backup, he smashed the laptop against the wall, put the USB
pen in his handbag and left the lab.
As Jeff walked out of the lab he checked the clock on the wall, it read
7:15, as he walked to the reception desk and exit he rummaged through the
handbag and found a purse with 20 pounds it, some clean underwear,
makeup, a few other sundry items and a driving license in his (or should
I say her name), since they knew the address (if it existed), he decided
to head back to Jeff's house, there was a spare key hidden in case of
emergencies and if his neighbour asked he was his niece.
As he walked looking through the bag he walked straight into Claire, "I
am so sorry, are you already?" Jeff asked.
Claire got up, brushed herself down and said, "Hi I am Claire, sorry I
don't recognise you and this floor is restricted."
"I am Annabelle and I work on a specials project," he said after a
nervous hesitation.
"Oh, which one? I manage most of them," Claire asked, now with a serious
tone.
Jeff deliberating on the question for a few seconds, considering if it
could be a trick question as he knew you weren't meant to discuss
projects, he said, "Project Annabelle (pointing to the crest on the
pass), I was brought in to solve some problems, which I am not allowed to
discussed, sorry I have a meeting now with Mr Vance, it was nice meeting
you Claire."
Jeff grabbed his handbag and left calmly, but as quickly as possible.
Claire stood where she was for a second and then a look of horror came
over he, she frantically searched for her mobile, realising it was locked
in pedestal as per regulations she and headed for the nearest phone as
quickly as she could, phoning security, she described Annabelle and
explained that it would be a good career move to make sure she didn't
leave the building.
"I am sorry Miss Zukenberg, she left 30 seconds ago, do you want me to
post an alert on her pass?"
"Damn it, never mind," she said as she slammed the phone down and
sprinted to the project Annabelle lab, swiping her pass on the access
panel, she saw that the mannequin was missing, the laptop had been
destroyed and all of the cupboards had been emptied onto the floor, she
ran over to a terminal and tried it, it was displaying the last command
which was a secure wipe.
Claire returned to her desk and dialled #115; Roy answered with a jovial,
"Hi Claire, how are you?"
"Shut up and listen Roy, Project Annabelle has been compromised, it is
missing, the lab has been turned over and the computers wiped, I need a
specialised here 20 minutes ago" Claire shouted down the phone.
"Erm, erm, I will get call the homeland domestic security division now!"
he stuttered and hung up.
Claire pulled up the company's HR files for 'Annabelle Mathis', after
reading it she clicked the button to move it her personal secure archive
and purge all the records from the main server.
Taking the pass with the name 'Joanne Barker' on it from the middle draw,
smiling she whispered "whoever you are or were, you are now the property
of Hydrodynamics Cybernetics Ltd and we are going to get you back, this
pass is your first mistake."
Claire spent the next three hours moving any records for Project
Annabelle to her personal secure archive before wiping it from the
corporate network, a group of technicians tagging everything, boxing it
and then putting it a large white van, by the end the lab didn't have a
single item in it.
That evening whilst Claire was at home watching TV her secure mobile
phone started to ring, she pauses the news, looked at the caller ID and
picked it up, "Hello Roy, I have dealt with your teams fuck ups, the
scheme to replace the daughter of a leader of a country has had to be put
on hold because of a bloody third rate code monkey, the recovery
procedure has been initiated."
"What will," Roy started to say, but was interrupted by the sound of two
silenced gunshots being fired and a thump.
"MI5 Agent 2904 here, clean-up has been completed.' came from Roy's
secure phone and then the connection dropped, Claire muttered a quiet
prayer, Roy was a good engineer and honest man, although he knew the
risks, she resumed watching the BBC news coverage of the G5 summit.
