While that first weekend went by rather smoothly, I still needed to find
a job while I prepared for my interview with the pharmaceutical company.
While my resume may boast prior work experience, I actually have zero
experience in those fields. Unfortunately, the only job I am able to get
is as a waitress at a restaurant where the uniform is a sexy schoolgirl's
outfit. Like Hooters, The Tilted Kilt, and Twin Peaks, the clientele at
Teacher's Pets is mostly male. And these guys like to get drunk, watch
sports, and hit on the waitresses. Luckily there is increased security
to deal with the rowdier customers.
I've also been forced to enter the dating scene by Chelsea and some of
the waitresses I've become friends with at work. For the last several
weekends I've been set up on dates with the worst possible guys
imaginable. Now I know you're probably thinking that I'm only saying
that because I'm a straight guy and have no interest in men. Despite the
fact that I have no interest in men, I was willing to play along for
Chelsea's sake and pretend to have a good time. Unfortunately, all the
men I have been set up with have been rude, self-centered, and only
obsessed with sex. On every date I went on, the guys were only
interested in my body and even checked out other women. No wonder chicks
become lesbians.
Maybe I shouldn't put down all men. After all I am a man. Now that I
think about it though, I am just like these jerks. Over the years I've
slept with hundreds of chicks and I don't even remember most of their
names. When Emily grows up I will have nothing to tell her about her
real mom because she was just a one-night stand. At least for now Emily
thinks I am her mom, but eventually she will have to learn the truth. I
just hope she will be able to forgive me for lying to her about my true
identity.
OK, I know you are going to find out eventually, but there is one guy
that isn't all bad. This bartender I work with has been pretty cool. He
hasn't hit on me once the entire time I've worked there and has come to
my defense on multiple occasions against rowdier customers. We both work
the same shift and have gotten to know each other pretty well over the
past several weeks. Of course he is also gay and has a boyfriend, so I
guess I'm taking a break from dating for a while. Is it too late for me
to come out as a lesbian?
Now might be a good time to mention that Chelsea and Jake broke last week
and she kicked him out of the apartment. It turns out that Jake had been
cheating on her the entire time they were together. Now while the old me
would have jumped at the chance to try and turn Chelsea lesbian, I've
seen how difficult dating can be as a female and I am just going to be
there for her as a friend. I admit I still get a stiffy when I see her
change in front of me, but I always make sure to suppress those urges as
best I can.
Of course work and dating aren't my only struggles. I know Emily sounded
cute and very well behaved in the previous chapter, but she's a lot less
cute and cooperative when she doesn't get her way. Naturally I can't
feed her the food she wants everyday. Cocoa Puffs aren't very healthy.
Unfortunately when I try to get her to eat eggs or oatmeal she screams
and throws a tantrum. I'm not really sure how to handle the situation.
If I give in to her demands she'll become spoiled like I was. So far
I've been trying various tricks to get her to eat her food, but most of
them haven't worked.
Now the reason I haven't been able to update you on my life over these
past several weeks is mainly because I have so little free time. Between
work, taking care of Emily, and being set up on dates, I haven't really
had much time for myself. Today, however, my parents have taken Emily
for the day and I am spending a girl's weekend with Chelsea and a couple
girls from the restaurant. We have a day planned that consists of yoga,
the spa, shopping, the beach, and the salon. Now of course I really have
no interest in doing any of these things, but after the month I've had
I'll do anything to relax. If you'll excuse me, there is a knock at the
door.
"Hey girl," my friend Chloe says as I open the door, "I so needed this.
I brought orange juice and champagne for mimosas."
"Ugh, after the week I've had," my other friend, Courtney, says following
behind Chloe, "all I want to do is get drunk and pampered."
"I am so with you," I say as I shut the door behind them. "Last night
Emily kept me up for hours."
"I am so glad I don't have any kids," Chloe says.
Like Chelsea and I, Chloe and Courtney are both new in Los Angeles.
Yeah, that's something else I should mention. Given my reputation as
Clayton back home in New York, my parents thought it was best to have me
live in California for the year to avoid running into anybody I know. I
admit it felt strange getting off the plane at LAX and having to drive to
my new apartment instead of having a cab pick me up. It seems that
although they do have cabs in Los Angeles, everyone here prefers to
drive.
Chloe is a grad student at USC and Courtney is an aspiring model and
actress. They both have boyfriends, and unlike Chelsea they don't seem
to go for jerks and pervs. Yes, as much as I hate to admit it Chelsea
has terrible taste in men. Chloe on the other hand always seems to set
me up with the most boring men imaginable, while Courtney hasn't set me
up on any dates yet.
Given that all three of us were new in the city and didn't know anyone,
we became friends pretty quickly. One day the two of them were over at
my apartment and I introduced them to Chelsea, who quickly became part of
the group. We call ourselves the Four C's. Don't laugh; it was Chloe's
idea. She is sort of the self-proclaimed leader of our little group.
The three of us sit on the couch and talk while we wait for Chelsea to
come over. I admit this is the first time in my life that I've really
ever listened to a girl talk. In the past I've always just pretended to
listen while secretly fantasizing about the sex we would have later on.
Although I find both Chloe and Courtney very attractive, I know they are
both straight and that coming on to them would probably blow my cover.
"Well, I have some exciting news, girls," Courtney began. "I got a part
in an episode of NCIS! It's isn't a speaking role, but it's a start."
"Conrats, girl!" Chloe says as we both raise our glasses to toast her
before she turns her attention to me, "So how was your date with that hot
Latin guy?"
"Oh, god. He was awful," I say. "All he did was talk about himself and
he hit on every girl in the place. I think I'm going to give up on men
entirely."
"Oh, don't go to the lesbian side just yet," Courtney says. "Just go out
with me and Tom tomorrow night. I know a guy who would be just perfect
for you. He's an actor. If you don't hit it off I'll give you an Ellen
haircut myself."
"Fine," I say as we all laugh, "but remember we have to follow my dating
rules."
Oh, yeah. I know how guys can be on dates; after all I still am one.
That is why I set certain rules for every date my friends have set me up
on. First, they cannot tell the guy where I live and we each arrive at
the restaurant in our own cars. The restaurant must be crowded enough so
that we won't find ourselves secluded in some dark corner for him to make
a move on me. Now the third part is really my own little secret. While
I've agreed to give each guy the benefit of the doubt, I always carry eye
drops with me to slip in his drink in the event he should get too
aggressive. When he goes to the bathroom, I pay my portion of the bill,
with cash, and leave as quickly as possible. So far I've had to do that
on about half of the dates I've been set up on. Coincidentally they were
all dates Chelsea set up.
Finally Chelsea arrives, and we are ready to go. We first head to yoga
because apparently that is something every girl in L.A. seems to do. Of
course I'm not as limber as the other girls and I have more difficulty
with some of the positions. After the class, we go to the locker room to
shower and change. It takes all my effort not to give away my secret, as
I stand naked in the shower with a room full of the hottest girls
imaginable. Fortunately the prosthetic I'm wearing is extremely
realistic and keeps everything out of sight. Even my friends can't tell
it's a fake.
After we're dressed, with our swimsuits underneath our dresses, we drive
to Malibu to lie out on the beach. As a straight guy, today is like
torture. Gorgeous women in fantasy situations surround me, and I can't
do anything about it. First it was the shower in the women's locker room
and now we are lathering each other up in suntan lotion while wearing the
skimpiest bikinis imaginable. You don't know how much self-control it
takes not to hook up with every one of these girls right here and now.
Fortunately, the elderly couple setting up next to us quickly puts a
damper on my excitement.
After lying out for a while, we head over to Courtney's to take turns
showering and to change for the spa and salon. We go inside where her
boyfriend, Tom, is sitting on the couch playing video games with a friend
of his. Fortunately we had all put our dresses back on before leaving
the beach.
"Hey, babe," Tom says getting up as we come in, "how is your girl's day
going?"
"Amazing," Courtney says as the two of them kiss before noticing Tom's
friend getting up off the couch. "Oh, I see you have Ryan here. "
"Hey," Ryan says walking over.
"Ryan, this is Caitlyn," Courtney says pulling me over before whispering
in my ear, "See I told you he was cute."
I admit I am a little excited to meet Ryan, but not for the reason
Courtney had hoped. As soon as I saw Ryan I instantly recognized him,
but not by his name. The reason I recognized him is because he plays a
recurring role on one of my favorite shows. I hope I can get some
spoilers from him. I admit I can be something of a fan boy at times, or
in this case a fan girl.
"I think I've seen you on Game of Thrones," I say trying to play it cool.
"Oh you're a fan?" Ryan says with a smile. "It's always cool meeting a
girl who is into stuff like that."
The two of us go on talking about Game of Thrones for quite a while.
Eventually, however, I am forced to end our conversation to go shower and
change. The girls all laugh and call me a nerd as we leave her place. I
should mention, that TV wise I have very little in common with these
girls. They all love reality shows and romance dramas. I on the other
enjoy science fiction, action, comedy, horror, and sports. I get teased
about it constantly. Fortunately, this was one aspect about my life as
Clayton that my parents allowed me to maintain as Caitlyn.
I admit I am a little disappointed to leave, but I will get plenty of
time to ask him more questions on our double date. For now I have to
admit I am actually looking forward to the spa. After wearing those
heels at work all week, my body could use some pampering. It isn't long
before we arrive at the spa and I have another hot chick's hands all over
my body as she gives me my massage. Like I said before, more torture.
Eventually the massage is over and I find myself in the steam room with
the other girls. We are all wrapped in towels and are completely naked
underneath. Chloe drops her towel and carries on as normal while I try
my best not to stare. It isn't long before the other girls drop their
towels as well and I finally follow suit.
Now I admit I kind have expected the four of us to start making out and
having sex, but I guess that is because I watch too much porn. Instead
there appears to be zero sexual tension as the four of us continue
chatting like normal.
"So where do you want to go for lunch?" Chloe asks the group. "There's
this new sushi place I've been wanting to check out on Beverly."
"Sounds good," Chelsea says. "It's been so long since I've had sushi."
Like I said, zero sexual tension. The rest of the steam session carries
on pretty much like that as we discuss work, relationships, and reality
TV. I admit I would have never guessed I would be this bored in a room
full of hot naked chicks.
Finally we finish our spa day and we are off to the salon. We each get
mani-pedis and our hair done. The beautician styles my hair into a much
sexier style than I had been wearing it. I admit that between work and
raising a two and a half year old I didn't have much time to worry about
looking good. Chelsea comes out with a completely new look to put the
past of her relationship with Jake behind her. As hot as she looked
before, she actually looks ten times hotter now.
The four of us turn quite a few heads as we leave the salon and head to
the mall for a day of shopping before going to lunch. I admit I don't
normally enjoy the attention I get from men, but today it feels kind of
nice. We go into a few stores and the girls pick out a few outfits for
me to try on. I don't have much money to spend on clothes, but they
convince me to get this one dress for my date with Ryan. Reluctantly I
give in, but I hope Ryan doesn't get any ideas about me. The dress
leaves very little to the imagination. I have to admit I do look amazing
in it though.
After stopping at a few more stores we realize it is way past lunch and
go to the sushi place for dinner instead. The sushi is awesome and all
of us, except for Chloe who is our designated driver, get pretty drunk on
Saki. As we pile back into the car, Chloe suggests we go to a gay bar.
Now I've never understood why chicks go to gay bars before, but after the
past month of terrible dates I now know why.
We aren't the only women in the bar, but as expected the clientele is
mostly male. We order our drinks and head to the dance floor to spend
the evening dancing. Quite a few guys dance with us, but I don't feel
uncomfortable around these guys since they are clearly not there to meet
us.
"Hey ladies," a voice I recognize as Chad the bartender I mentioned
earlier calls out.
"Hey Chad," we all say.
"This is my boyfriend, Mark," he says introducing us to the more
flamboyant man standing next to him.
"Hey, ladies," Mark says, "you all look fierce. I might have to borrow
some of your outfits for my drag shows."
Unlike Mark who is very flamboyant and effeminate, Chad is very
masculine. In fact I didn't even know Chad was gay until he friended me
on Facebook. The two of them actually met in this very bar and have been
together for over a year. Mark is pretty active in the drag scene and
performs under the name Sophia Florenz. I've seen his drag pictures on
Facebook and I have to admit he is quite attractive as a woman. Tonight,
however, he is not in drag.
The two of them join our group and we spend the night dancing and
drinking until well into the night. Eventually we head home and I am
back alone in my apartment. I kick off my heels and drop my shopping by
the door. I collapse on my bed too drunk and tired to even change or
remove my makeup.
