"You know, you did alright tonight. I had a good time." She hiccupped and
slurred her words. The olive-green beer bottle in her hand frothed and

something, "...you did alright tonight."
She nodded, squeezing her arm around me, crunching us together, aiming an
over exaggerated wink before staggering away in uncontrollable laughter.
I shivered as I pulled at the leather jacket, the polka-dot dress
underneath fluttering uncontrollably as a sudden gust of wind rattled
against the shop windows of the street. A bus thundered past, morning
commuters bleary eyed and glum, framed for an instant in the brightly lit
interior as it chugged by and rounded the corner.
We reached the apartment building, the orange haze of night shimmering in
the silent street as the darkness began to fade to morning.
"Can't believe she fucked off without you though." She palmed at her
handbag, a blue swallow tattoo protruding the sleeve of her shirt as she
began rummaging for her keys.
We began clambering up the stairs, the hallway dim and still.
"It's fine, she's known him for ages... on the internet," I whispered
trying to excuse Riley's actions, more concerned about her being
criticised than my own wellbeing.
"Still pretty fucking savage, though," she spluttered, barging open the
door and stepping inside, "with you, fucking, dressed as you are."
I looked down at my outfit, as if noticing for the first time. Feeling at
the long faux-pearl beads swinging loosely around my neck. I felt at my
hair, it somewhat worse for wear but still styled into a girlish mop, the
red bow still clipped above my temple.
"I kept thinking that someone would... notice," I admitted, following her
inside, "...then kick the shit out of me."
"Nah, was never going to happen. You look pretty good... and I'd have
sorted them right out if they said otherwise." She looked me up and down.
We stood in the hallway of Beth's apartment as she flicked her heels off
into the distance of the silent living room. Even barefooted she towered
over me: she must have been at least 6 foot, slim and slender, and would
have made a perfect model if it wasn't for all the tattoos and piercings.
I blushed at her compliment.
"I have to admit, you make a decent looking girl." She licked at her
lips, eying the neckline of my dress, the false cleavage jutting out in
response to my increased breathing.
She moved closer, put her hands on my waist.
