Chapter 3
When he awoke the next morning, Don realized the full potential of last
evening's discipline. He thought that the pain of the beating on the
soles of his feet would be the worst of it. Now his feet ached. Before
he even got out of bed they were painful. When he got up, walking, even
to get Mandy's coffee wearing his flat slippers, could only be done
slowly and painfully. Later, when he had to get dressed in his uniform

any entries in his Progress Book. After Mandy left he began his chores
at home, this time cleaning the bathroom and powder room to a spotless

Later he would make his now daily trip to the grocery store to get the

today's purchases. This, of course, would keep him from skimming the

When Mandy returned, she had a couple of packages. Don now looked at
this as a bad sign. Through the rest of the evening, Don managed to
avoid all but one entry in his progress book. He had slipped up,
referring to himself as "me" once. It was another five stroke
infraction. He would also learn that discipline would not necessarily
be accomplished each night, but rather when Mandy felt in the mood for

About 8:30, after Don had finished in the kitchen and was laundering his
uniform and her outfit for the next day, the door buzzer sounded. She
told Don to answer it. Don, of course, was in his house dress,

this?"

Don had no choice but to do as he as told. Until now it had just been
Mandy and him, except to some extent, for his trip to the market. Now
