When Cooper and Nesto were rescued, it was all over the media. The two rugged adventurous backpackers, missing from their alpine trek, the hint of latin swarthiness in one close up, viking fairness in the other, the grainy photo on the mountain, in brotherly embrace. Then the news they had been holed up in that cellar for months, rescued in a daring raid under the flash of flares and smoke, the glare of TV cameras, the stunned grey blue eyes, the teary greens, the hint of flesh and bruises above the medics blankets. They were barely tucked into their hospital beds, when the story leaked out how they were fucked and forced to fuck each other, all sorts of unmentionable things, which were lasciviously hinted at on every news channel instead. But their medical examination was days long, and news is fleeting. Long before bones can set and bruises heal, the story had been dropped, let alone any follow up on the long road to recovery that lay ahead. So when they limped out of the hospital together, each leaning on the others shoulder as a show of solidarity, as they exited the door into the sunshine for the first time in a season, only Nesto's parents were there, doting and hugging, unaware (or wilfully blind) to the cause of his 'accident'. Coop's remained pointedly absent. But Nesto's folks jabbered enough for the both of them, propelling them forward with good cheers and well wishes, until they arrived at the curb.
It was the van that first struck Cooper - not the banged up car that Nesto's papi usually drove, but a big white delivery van, door open. Then the orderlies either side, who they'd at first ignored, like so many hospital staff that lingered at the front, usually smoking. But these two weren't puffing away, just waiting, either side of the door. Without knowing why, both Nesto and Cooper pulled back, but they were already there, and with Nesto's parents still thrusting them forward, and the orderlies now gripping their arms, they kept plunging on into the van. They both still had sinewy muscles, but lacked strength from their confinement. The last words they heard Nesto's mom say were that she'd come and visit in a month, and then, in a moment, they were inside, the door rolled closed.
Nesto and Cooper sat there dumbly on the plastic seat, facing a chubby looking nurse who smiled warmly with her mouth, though coldly with her eyes. On her pin, beneath "Nurse Brest Litovsk" read "Northwood Rehabilitation Clinic".
"Now young men, as you are no doubt aware, the state has your every need in hand, from trauma counselling to physical therapy, and that doesn't end with your discharge. Given the severity of your ... situation ... your doctors have admitted you for a three month rehabilitation session with us at Northwood, where we will endeavour to slowly undo that awful damage done by that terrible man..."
Cooper's sphincter clenched at the last part, or tried to clench anyway, sending a shiver and a jolt of pain up his spine. Nesto meanwhile was tugging absently at a loose thread in the goodwill clothing they'd been given, in the absence of a stitch of clothing of their own. "Ah yes" Nurse Brest said "you can take off those clothes for starters. " The two mates did not know what to do, they were in a cramped jolting van, only inches away from a matronly woman, asking them to strip in front of her. She rummaged around beside her, and some vague source of obedience kicked in, from the cellar or the hospital, or years of check-ups, where they both found themselves reluctantly stripping naked, and folding their clothes next to them, while they clasped their privates with their spare hand, waiting to receive the smocks the was no doubt about to hand them.
But she finished rummaging, and seeing them both seated naked, reached forward with a punctual smile and took away their clothing, pushing it into the bag she had pulled out for that purpose. "Now we at Northwood understand how uncomfortable clothing can be for those that have been forced to stay naked for so long. We have a twelve step program for reintroducing you to clothes starting from next week." They couldn't believe their ears. "What, we have to stay naked?" Nesto choked out. "It's for your own good" Nurse Brest said reflexively, but paused, correcting herself. "Oh, still me, of course not dears." She reached down, pulling out two white lanyards from the bag, with a big silver "R" hanging from each. "Here, you must wear one of these each, at all times. They each reached out, trying futilely to hide their drooping dorks from her as they did, and slipped the lanyards over their necks. The white cord chafed against the rope burns on their collars, and the silver tag tugged down heavily between their pecs. "Yes I can see even that is uncomfortable for you, I'll let your treating doctor know of course, but it's absolutely necessary, so the security people don't think you're one of the addicts relapsing. We've had some terrible accidents before, they can be quite trigger happy, so just keep that on, and you should be fine. Not to worry, the wards are well heated, sometimes overheated I think, but then I'm still clothed, and you won't have grounds privileges for weeks yet anyway."
The three sat there in silence for a while, the two boys shivering in their naked flesh, watching the van turn on to a country road. In the commotion, they had missed the turn off from the freeway, and neither quite knew where they were. As trees streamed past them, the nurse folded over her clipboard, and coughed to get their attention. "Now before we arrive, there are a couple of questions for you to answer, which will make our job easier. Don't worry if you can't answer all of them, we can take the measurements ourselves, but it's much easier this way. So, you first, Hooper." "Cooper". She smiled wanly, making no effort to correct the form. "Of course. So for your anal fitting, do you know the dimensions of the largest object you had inserted in your rectum?" Cooper blanched.
