5:18 PM Cindy and I were standing outside on our freshly raked front lawn in our dresses waiting for Mom and Dad. Mom came outside with her camera. "We're just waiting for Dad." Dad joined her. He was holding his camera as well. "Chris, honey. When you're done with the Internet, can you please log off of it." Whoops. "Sorry dad." I smiled. "This is the second time in two weeks I picked up the den phone only to realize you were still dialed-in. Hang up the Internet when you're not using it. Unless you want to pay the phone bill, that is." "Sorry again," I said. "It just slipped my mind. It won't happen again." He smiled at me, laughed and shook his head chuckling. Both Mom and Dad got their cameras ready and started having Cindy and I pose in front of various fall foliage in front of our house as they took pictures. My heels were digging into the sod and I was kinda hoping they'd hurry up. I was getting antsy. "Christina," Mom said. "Stop slouching." I stood up straight. "You look so elegant in that dress. Stop standing like a boy." "Ug," I said. "I'm trying Mom." I put my legs together and tried to stand up straight." I hear a motorcycle coming down the street. Sure enough it was Chase pulling into our driveway. I excused myself from the photo-shoot to walk up to Chase and give him a hug. "I missed you," I said to him. "I missed you too," he replied. "You are absolutely stunning." "Thank you," I said. "You're looking very dapper in your tux as well." "I have something for you," he said as he opened the bag on his bike and pulled out a clear plastic corsage box. "Hi, Chase!" Mom called. "Come on over. Bring my daughter with you." "Sorry about the paparazzi," I whispered to Chase. We held hands and walked over to where my parents and Cindy were. "Chase, you've already met my parents. This is my sister Cindy." "Hi Cindy," Chase said. "Nice to meet you." "Hi Chase," Cindy said. "I've heard so much about you. You're all Cindy and Ron can talk about. Every. Morning," She laughed. Chase chuckled at that. I was enjoying the attention I was getting for having a boyfriend. "Let's get some pictures with the two of you," Mom said. "First" Chase said as he pulled the corsage out of the box. It was a wrist corsage with white and pink flowers. "Let me see your hand," he said. I looked down at my wrists. As if Mom could read my thoughts she said, "Left hand." I extended my left hand and he slipped the corsage onto my wrist. Meanwhile Mom and Dad were taking so many pictures. I bet they could do some stop-motion animation of the whole sequence of events. "So cute!" Cindy gleefully said. "OK - Chase put your hands around Chris," Mom called. Chase followed directions, stood behind me and placed his hands on my waist and we both posted and smiled as my parents took way too many pictures from every possible angle. Then a few more poses. Chase was a good sport about it. My heart fluttered every time he touched me. Granted - this is not my first rodeo. I've been to 1 homecoming dance, 2 proms, and I've been in 3 weddings including my own. Photography sessions never get any quicker or less boring. Photographs are an exercise in delayed gratification. Let's get to the good part already! A car pulled into our driveway. It was Jill and her mom. They had gotten out of the car and my parents and Jill's mom were now taking pictures of Cindy and Jill. This allowed Chase and I to sneak away. I dragged Chase to the side of the house away from the photography session and gave him a big kiss, he in return kissed me back and we made out for at least thirty seconds. "Chris, Don't smear your lipstick!" Mom yelled out of sight. I turned red. "How'd she know," I said. "Mothers just know," he said laughing. "Ready to go?" Chase asked. "Or we can just stay here. Skip the dance?" I suggested. "And miss out on seeing you tear up the dance floor again?" he said. I laughed at that as we walked back to the front of the house and to his bike. I looked at the bike. "Um Chase," I said. "There's a slight problem." "What?" Dammit. I didn't want to bring up the damn bike again so soon after we made up. "I can't get on that bike in this dress." He looked at my dress. Then the bike. "Oh." "We can take my car," I suggested. "OK," he said. "But I'm driving." "Fair compromise," I said. I ran back into the house and got my car keys. I came back out and tossed them to Chase. "Mom, Dad," I called. "We're going to dinner now!" "Have fun!" they both called. I got into the passenger seat of my car. "Sweet," I said. "I can play DJ now while you drive." I opened my CD case and pulled out Metallica's Black Album. I skipped tracks to "Enter Sandman." I started playing air guitar and Chase laughed. "Nice," he said. "My band can use some air guitar." And off we went to dinner. * * * 6:45 PM We arrived at the school after a quick bite at the sandwich shop. I let Chase be the gentleman as he walked over to my door, opened it for me and escorted me out. I clutched Chase's arm as we walked to the school. Inside the school, there was a line of students in their fancy dance attire waiting for a photographer to take their picture. I saw a couple walking away holding picture key-rings. "Want a key-ring?" I asked Chase. "Sure," he said. We waited in the line for 10 minutes. When it was our turn Chase held me from behind, we both faced the photographer and smiled. Minutes later we were given matching key-rings with our picture on it. "We look so good," I said admiring my first tangible picture of me and my boyfriend. "It's all you," he said smiling. We walked into the cafeteria-turned-ballroom holding hands. Immediately we saw Ron and Julie. "Christina!" Julie said excitedly. "Look at that you! The dress. Your hair!" She came in for a hug and I hugged back. "Thanks," I said. "You look great too!" "We saved you both seats" Ron said motioning to a table. We put our things down on the table. "I'm going to make my rounds and say hi to people," I said to Chase. "Care to join me?" "Gladly," he said. I escorted him around the room. We stopped at my sister's table first. She, Jill and their dates were seated. They introduced us to their dates and I introduced Chase. Those two boys were certainly freshmen and looked completely nervous to be out at a dance with two varsity cheerleaders. We walked by Val. We hugged. She complimented my dress. I introduced her to Chase. Next up, we went over to the other cheerleader table, only because Brittany was smiling and waving at us. Amber, Jess, and Brittany were there. Brittany gave me a hug and complimented on my dress and everything. Amber looked me up and down and said nothing. Jess smiled at me. Looked me up and down, eye fucked me, then scanned Chase and arched an eyebrow in jealousy. "Hi Amber," I said, trying to make peace. "You look nice this evening. I like that dress." "Thanks," is all she said. And yet, I decided to see if I could crack a smile. "So Chase, Amber over here caught the winning touchdown in our game yesterday." There it was. A slight smile on her face. Amber took a sip of soda to hide her smile. "That's so cool," Chase said. "I'll see you ladies on the dance floor!" I said, walking away with Chase. He leaned in to whisper in my ear. "The pass YOU threw?" "Yup," I said. "That was the one." "Isn't she the girl you punched last Friday night?" "Yeah," I said. "I think she's over that. Still holding some grudge though." We walked by that creep Tim. We made eye contact and he turned direction to avoid me. I kept my eye on him as he went to Amber's table and started talking to her. We arrived back at our table. Tim and Rob went to get drinks and asked what we wanted. Of course, since this was a high school dance, there were only a few options. Coke. Sprite. Water. Coffee for the poor teachers who had to chaperone. * * * 7:30 PM Julie and I were chatting at our table with the table's other occupants when the song "Zoot Suit Riot" came on. I was just about to start tapping my feet when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around and it was Fay. "I requested this song just for us," she said. "Would you like to dance?" "Absolutely!" I said excited. I led Fay out to the dance floor. Only a few other couples were dancing - they weren't swinging though. The moment Fay and I started dancing a crowd started to form around us. It was difficult to swing in heels. But as the song went on I got better at it. I swung Fay around, twisting and turning. I noticed my friends in the crowd all smiling. Ron, Julie, Chase, Val, Brittany. They were all clapping and cheering us on. "I want you to flip me," she said while we were dancing. "OK. Let's do some real quick jumps to practice," I led her into a front to back Charleston where I was behind her. "OK Jump." I planted my heels and bent down and pushed her up as I gave her some height, and let her back down. The crowd cheered. We continued to dance some more Charleston. "Now," I told her, "this time do the same thing again, but tuck and do a somersault in the air. I'll keep holding your hands. Ready? And jump!" I planted my feet, she jumped, I pushed up and she flipped in front of me as I held on to her. She landed on her feet and the crowd cheered some more. "That was awesome!" she said as I continued dancing with her. The song ended and I let her drop into a deep dip. The crowd loved it! "Thank you, Chris!" Fay said hugging me. "That was too much fun!" "You're very welcome," I said. I was just excited to be dancing in front of a crowd again. Especially a crowd of my peers and friends. The next song was Journey's "Open Arms" and everyone started to clear the dance floor except Chase. "It's my turn," he said to me. I gladly took his hand. "You're not going to try to flip me are you?" he asked. "Not unless you want me to," I replied. "Who gets to lead this dance?" he asked. "You can lead this time," I replied. As he moved me across the dance floor I could feel my dress sway through the motions. I was reminded of the vision I had a week ago in the dress shop. This brought a smile to my face. This is exactly what I had hoped for. In the middle of the song I looked up at Chase and we kissed for a little bit. I saw the school chaperones out of the corner of my eye. "I guess we better save some of this for later." I smiled. He gave me one of his sexy smiles. "Absolutely," he said. The song ended and "Hypnotize" by Notorious B.I.G. came on. We both started walking back to our table, when Julie grabbed my arm and stole me away from Chase. "Alright Dancing Queen," Julie said. "It's my turn." I didn't take Julie for a Biggy Fan. She started dancing around me. I followed her example and danced to hip hop. I grabbed her hand and let her freestyle around me. When she got behind me, she pulled me in and started grinding on me. I let out a laugh. I grabbed her and spun her around back in front of me. As she passed me I smacked her ass. She looked at me surprised as I played innocent. "That wasn't me," I joked while looking around. That happened in repeat with us dancing and playing around with each other until the song ended. The DJ didn't have another song to queue up, so we walked back to our table. Mike, the Student Council President came on the stage to announce the homecoming court. Each class nominated and voted for a boy and girl and all eight students were part of the "royal court," At least that's how I remembered it. I don't actually remember voting though. It must've happened over two weeks ago - or in my case over twenty years ago. He announced the homecoming court. I didn't recognize any of the names or faces at first. The homecoming king was one of the football players. The queen was surprisingly not one of the cheerleaders. I think I may have recognized her from being in the drama club. I caught a glimpse of the cheerleader's table. Jess looked at me but looked sad. Amber was there but didn't notice me. In fact she looked dejected that she wasn't voted homecoming queen. She chugged her soda. I walked over to that table and straight to Jess. I whispered in her ear. "Wanna dance?" Amber looked at us. Then she turned back around and pulled out what appeared to be a flask and poured it into her empty soda cup. "You know I can't," Jess answered back. "People will see." "No one will know," I whispered. "No one will care. I just danced with 2 other girls. Nobody cared. You deserve to have fun too," I held out my hand. She looked at my hand for a few seconds of silence and took it and I brought her out to the dance floor. "The important part," I told her. "Is to let loose and have fun." All-4-One's "I can love you like that" came on. "Oh no no no. I can't do this," she said, pulling me back. "Yes you can" I said pulling her back to the dance floor. "Pretend you're acting. Exaggerate every move. Really go all in with the corniness. Cindy forced me to sing Backstreet Boys earlier. It helped me come out of my shell tonight. I'm just paying it forward." "OK" She said reluctantly. I led her to the middle of the floor and start serenading her "They read you Cinderella- You hoped it would come true- That one day your Prince Charming- Would come rescue you" She laughed at me and my corniness - or maybe the lyrics. "Seriously?" she said. "See I got a smile!" I said as I took both of her hands and started dancing with her around the floor. "Go Big or Go Home!" I twirled her around. I raised our arms and free-styled sexily around her. She finally let loose and copied my style. She was smiling as I dipped her and spun her back around. She danced slowly around her moving her hips. "Now you're getting it!" I said. I looked around and the rest of the cheer squad was dancing in tandem with us. I saw Cindy dancing with Brittany, Jill with someone else I didn't know. The whole squad except Amber. "See," I said, "I told you nobody would notice two girls dancing together." "Or rather everyone's noticing," she said. "Or everyone's jealous," I countered. At the end of the song's bridge and into the last chorus I took her hands and spun her around three times and dipped her. "Wow," she said. "Fay wasn't kidding. You know what you're doing." "Years of dance lessons," I said. Yup. Dance lessons, countless weddings. Lonely nights in my early 30's where I went out solo to nightclubs. The song ended and she said, "Thank you, Chris. You're too good of a friend. Thank you for asking me to come out tonight," Then she leaned into my ear and whispered. "And if your experiment in heterosexuality doesn't work you know where to find me." I smiled. I didn't know what to say. As I was about to leave the dance floor, Brittany pulled me back. "Chris, I want to dance next." Jeez. It's only been an hour and a half and I've already danced with more girls than Tony ever had. We started dancing to the next song which was a Spice Girls song. "Hey Chris," she said, "I've misjudged you." "It's OK," I said. "I wasn't really open and friendly for a long time." "No really. You're so cool. I really wish you and Amber could be friends." "I really wish I knew what was up with her. I figured Powder Puff would've helped us talk." "Like I said a few days ago - she's even shut me out of whatever she's going through." "Has she even got up to dance?" "She did. A few of us danced with her. It's like she's trying really hard to keep her distance from you and Cindy though. It's rather annoying. But I think she is having fun." I sighed. I was having fun. It sucks that she wasn't. * * * 9:15 PM Where did the time go? I spent most of my time on the dance floor dancing with my friends. Song after song brought back intense 90's nostalgia and I couldn't help NOT dancing to every single one of them. When Cotton Eyed Joe came on, I ditched my sparkly sandles, pulled up the hem of my dress and just danced barefoot. Then there was Mo-town Philly. Hells to the yeah! It's crazy. I didn't even like this music my first time around. But here I was dancing with my friends. I managed to give attention to every single one of them. Julie, Chase, Val, Brittany, Cindy, Jess. Girls from that track team I had just barely met. I even got Ron to dance a song too! When my feet told me they had enough I finally sat down. Julie joined me. "You are a machine Demarco!" I chuckled, rubbing my poor feet. "This machine is tired! Where are the boys?" "They're over in the corner talking about their bands," she said. Ron and Chase returned. "You're finally tired?" Ron said. Julie and I laughed. Cindy walked over to our table, she was followed by Jill and their two dates. "We're going to head out now. Jill's mom is going to drive us to Friendly's for some ice cream." "Yum" I said. "I'm jealous. I wonder if I can convince MY date to get ME some ice cream." I smiled and winked at Chase. Chase smiled. "Oh, you got a key-ring too?" Cindy asked, seeing my key-ring sitting on my table. "Yes I did." I handed it to her. "Aw," she said looking at it. "You two are so cute together." I smiled. "Have fun! See you home." "See you home, Chris. Chase, I'll see you tomorrow night for Demarco Sunday Dinner!" "Bye, nice meeting you Cindy!" Chase said. I watched Cindy and Jill give hugs to Brittany and Jess and other cheerleaders. Amber got up and walked away before Cindy got to her. Julie turned to me. "Bathroom break?" "OK," I said as she got up. She stood there. Oh. She's waiting for me to join her. I got up, put my shoes back on and followed her. As we were leaving the cafeteria, Jess joined us. "You and Chase are going strong," Julie said. "Yeah we are," I replied. This was kinda awkward to talk about with Jess here. "You two are a good looking couple," Jess added. "Thanks, Jess." Awkward. We entered the girls bathroom and did our things. "Chris," Julie said, washing her hands. "You are killing it on the dance floor." "Thanks," I said, exiting a stall. "Seriously you are," Jess said. "That might be the most fun I've had in a long time. Sex excluded of course," She winked at me. Julie laughed. She had no idea Jess was talking about me. "I've gone to so many of these dances where I was a wallflower," I said. "I didn't want this one to be like that." I looked at both of them and smiled. "I really owe it to my friends. I might have still been a wallflower if it weren't for all of you." "We have your back, Demarco," Julie said, smiling while drying her hands. Julie left the bathroom first. Jess was about to approach the door, when she turned around and planted a kiss right on my lips. "I want to stay friends too, but I needed one last kiss." She smiled and followed Julie. I stood there stunned for a moment. I noticed something in the corner of my eye in the mirror. Behind me in an open stall was Amber who saw that whole exchange. I decided not to say anything and follow Julie and Jess out of the bathroom when Amber grabbed my wrist and stopped me. I just stared at her as she came closer. "What is it with you Demarco?" she said inching closer. She wobbled as she walked. Is she drunk? "Why is everyone so drawn to you?" "I'm just nice to people, Amber. I'm not a bully," I retorted. "You should try it some time." "Is that what you think of me? I'm the victim here." I rolled my eyes. Seriously? "I don't get it. You spend 3 years being invisible. A tomboy who blended into the background with her boy clothes and her love of nerdy stuff. Suddenly you're Miss Popularity. You're suddenly in sports. In the student council. You have everyone wrapped around your little finger." "I'm just a late bloomer I suppose," I replied. Maybe now is not the time to tell her I'm also "Student of the Month." "I saw you making out with guys," She came closer. I can smell the alcohol on her breath. "And girls." She came closer. "And my friends." I stepped backwards and my back hit the wall. "What is it that draws them to you?" she glances down at my lips. She isn't seriously going to kiss me is she? "Amber, are you drunk?" From the hallway I could hear Julie's voice. "Chris, what are you doing in there?" "Are you fucking her too?" Amber said. "No. Seriously Amber. You need to pull it together." "Do you want me? Is that what you're after? Are you trying to seduce me?" "You?" I laughed. "You keep following me. Getting in my business. Seducing my friends. I remember the day you were checking me out in the locker room." "Now, that was an honest mistake." "You got your wish. I'm wasted. You and your perfect sister are perfect. You and your perfect life are better than my messed up life." "Amber. I don't know anything about your life," Maybe I can talk her down. "Do you want to talk about it? At least talk to your own friends about it. Talk to someone." She pushed me against the wall. I didn't offer resistance and she got into my face and just stared at me. Yuck, her breath smells like tequila. My heart was racing. Here was my rival trying to get a rise out of me. I had to stand my ground and not let her get under my skin. "Amber," I whispered. "You can talk about it with me. We can do it in private if you want. I won't tell anyone." She let go of me and backed away holding her stomach. "No. You lost your chance to seduce me like everyone else Demarco," she said. "That's not what I was trying to do. Seriously If you need to talk-" Amber walked past me, bumping my shoulder and opened the bathroom door and stumbled out into the hallway. Through the open door, I saw her say to Jess. "Jess, come with me!" I put my hand over my head. What was that? Julie poked her head into the bathroom. "What just happened here?" "I don't know," I said. "I just had the weirdest confrontation with Amber. Let's just go back to the dance." I followed Julie out of the bathroom and I saw Chase in the hallway. "We were just looking for you," Chase said. "Ron's in the bathroom right now, but we were thinking maybe hitting a diner or something." "That sounds nice," I replied. "Maybe one that has ice cream!" I was certainly ready to call it a night. Between my feet hurting and that weirdness with Amber, I was done with this dance. Just then, I saw a girl holding her mouth and rushing into the girls bathroom. "Guys, give us one second," I said. Julie and I returned into the bathroom to check on that girl. "Are you OK?" I asked the girl who was kneeling over the toilet. "I think I've been poisoned," she said as she vomited. "By what?" Julie asked. "I took a shot of moonshine- from that one guy in our class," she said coughing "Tim?" I said. "Yeah." "Excuse me," I said to Julie. "I'm going to go find that punk," I barged out of the bathroom. Chase and Ron, still outside the restrooms, gave me a concerned look. "What's going on?" Ron asked. "I need to find Tim," I said. "I saw that tool in front of the cafeteria," Ron said. I started walking towards the cafeteria. "Chrissy," Chase said following me. "Do you need help?" "I got this," I said. "You can provide backup if you want." I found Tim standing at the door to the cafeteria. I walked in front of him, grabbing his collared shirt and slamming his back into a locker. "Jesus, Chrissy!" Chase said from behind me. "What did you give her?" I said to Tim. "Who?" "The girl puking her brains out in the bathroom." "Oh," he said. "I gave her the same stuff I gave you last weekend. My special moonshine mix with tequila for flavor." "That was- what? Do you even know how to make moonshine?" "Um. No. I found the directions on the Internet." "You could've killed us with that shit if you don't know what you're doing. Geez, I'm lucky I only blacked out. That girl back there is acting like she's poisoned." Tim didn't say anything. I could see the look of fear in his eyes. "Who else did you give that shit to?" "Nobody else would try it today except that girl." Well, that's a relief. "And Amber." "Amber?" I said. I let Tim go, and stepped back. "How much did she have?" "I filled her whole flask." Oh shit. In my mind I was remembering my spreadsheet back home with the blinking cursor on Amber's name. Oh no. No no no. I need to find Amber before she hurts herself. ---- Authors Notes: 3 More Chapters! Thank you all for the kind reviews and e-mails! Second Chances Chapter 29 The Man in the Mirror

Saturday, April 7, 2018 I woke up to my cell phone's new text message notification. My cell phone? My eyes snapped open. Sunlight streamed through the windows of my bedroom. My 2018 bedroom. Was that a dream? The events of the past two weeks were fresh in my mind. It felt like it was only seconds ago that I was in the car with Amber. That could not have been a dream. I went to get out of bed, but there was an arm draped over me. A woman's arm. I turned back around to see...

Dancing On Daddys Shoes Chapter 13 First Dance Last Chance

Chapter 13 First Dance - Last Chance Friday after school, Kim returned home and charged up the stairs to her room without so much as a hello for her father who was waiting in the foyer to greet her. The better part of caution told him to just leave it alone. He returned to the living room. She would tell him what was wrong when she was ready. Tom had a good idea what the trouble was without having to be told, however. There had not been much he had been...

Dance of a LifetimeChapter 99 The Dancers Take The Ice

The first week proceeded like the first day did. Warren and Sophia got out and saw as much as they could see. They practiced. Sophia's morning sickness acted up a bit, but not much, and she was feeling generally good and fit. Tuesday was the pairs' long program. Brett and Andrea were the first pair in the final group, and they skated wonderfully. "That's the best I've ever seen them skate," Warren said, and Sophia agreed. Brett and Andrea were beside themselves with joy as they came...

Second Chances

Instant gratification. That’s what most people want these days. Thanks to instant communication with email, instant shopping online, instant pornography too, we all want exactly what we want, exactly when we want it.That’s what made things so frustrating. Much as I don’t want to admit it, my middle-aged brain has been re-wired to operate in the modern era of instant gratification. She made me wait.I had clicked the “send” button and sent my video clip to my foreign correspondent. She was still...

Chances AreChapter 6

“Enough!” I loudly decided, more than an hour later, when I could start to see the sun setting in the horizon, outside the glass penthouse walls and the angry voices had at least for now subsided enough that I could begin to hear myself think again. Mostly, I was thinking about getting some food! I was starving, having had nothing but those cookie snacks a few hours ago to eat in several days. “Alright ... enough already!” I repeated, standing up from my chair to project my voice ... and a...

Chances AreChapter 4

At least when I awoke this time my brain wasn’t still on fire, complaining at me! Unfortunately, I was bound by my hands and feet to a hospital bed by sturdy leather straps. I was apparently being held as a prisoner somewhere ... but for once, this time after being captured by the authorities, I rather liked my odds of not ending up in prison. I didn’t care where they were holding me; the chances were going to be very good that I’d find a way out of here! On the plus side, with a slight turn...

Chances AreChapter 7

This time, nearly everyone was surprised ... really astonished in fact, that I’d walked back in through the front door under my own pegs. The word had gotten out that I was expendable and had been taken off for a ride already. I just grinned shook my head at Otto that I didn’t want another beer and then I pointed my left index finger upwards to show that I was heading back up to see the Boss, again. Knuckles saw me heading that way, further down towards the back end of the bar, and the big...

Second Chances Chapter 30 FINAL Hello my name is Chrissy

Sunday, October 5, 1997 I woke up on my own. I sat up in bed. I remembered last night... or rather I remembered what I wished for. I suddenly got really nervous. What have I done? I'm stuck in 1997 now. I'm stuck as Christina now. I was so caught up in the moment I really didn't think it through. Breathe Chrissy. You asked for this. You wanted this. Yeah, But now it's real. I looked at the mirror in front of me. This is very real. This is me. This is me forever...

Chances AreChapter 13

The senior Westside mob bosses just finished playing their hands and everyone continued to ignore me until the pot had been gathered up. They were playing poker for fairly small stakes, just a friendly game with quarters for chips it looked like, but I couldn’t tell you for sure what the rules were; a variation of five card draw probably. Then finally, Jonny deigned to speak to me just as a fresh hand was being dealt. “You’re Chancer? Conner here informs me that Antonio ‘Drake’ has gone...

Chances AreChapter 17

Fuck ... wouldn’t you believe it? The battleship-grade steel that layered the entire top of the basement, under the ground floor was still there ... and virtually immaculate, with hardly even a scratch on it! Now I could also see that this impenetrable layer not only covered the floor of the Murder Mansion, but also the houses next door and even under the old warehouse that had stood behind it. It covered, that thick layer of hardened steel, the entire city block where my house had once...

Second Chances Chapter 13 Foolish Games

When Gym class ended, I avoided Fay. I avoided Amber. I was afraid. I was afraid of confrontation. I was afraid of rejection. Much of the school day passed without much drama. My last two classes were uneventful. Since we had a show later this evening the band focused more on honing the field-show. So we ran through that 3 or so times. Occasionally Fay and I would make eye contact and she'd turn away. That was certainly not a good sign. At the end of band class, I was packing up my...

Second Thoughts and Last ChancesChapter 36

We never did resolve the matter of my being good, great or evil. My heart told me that none of them were truly applicable. My mind continued to debate whether those labels could ever be used on someone like me. The issues of accountability, responsibility, justice and freedom continued to haunt my thoughts for years after that night. The only thing I did come to terms with was my obsession with truth. Is truth a property of sentences, which are linguistic entities, or is truth a property of...

Fallen Angel Chapter 6 The Halloween Dance and the New Friend

Chapter 6: The Halloween Dance and the New Friend The two awoke just as the setting sun cast a gentle crimson ambience across the grassland, the light filtering through the trees and casting ghastly shadows amongst the somewhat deserted streets. Althea was the first to awaken, feeling Cal's warm, naked flesh on top of her own. Yawning softly, she gently rolled Cal off of her so he rested at her side, where she could snuggle into his sleeping form. Cal woke up ten or so minutes later,...

Wanna Watch Me MasturbateChapter 3

The most boys I've ever had watch me take my pants and panties off and masturbate is three. Wow, that was something and I want to tell you about it. It was when I was 16 and a junior in high school. I went camping with three guy friends from school. We'd gone canoeing and swimming at the lake and now it was night. We smoked some weed and we were talking about sex (do teenagers talk about anything else?) and things got a little touchy-feelie. One thing led to another and I knew it was time...

Dance with Me Chapter Two

I was happier than I’d been in years as I unpacked my food and thought of Bradley. I was really getting excited as the time for our date approached. I showered, shaved and as Bradley had told me, I picked out a nice dark blue pair of boot cut five-o-one Levi jeans and a Ralph Lauren deep red polo shirt. I finished off with my black ankle boots and my silver wrist watch. I only had to wait a few minutes because once again Bradley was early. At six-twenty the doorbell rang and there he stood...

Dance with Me Chapter One

I accidentally walked into a straight bar one night in June. The weather was hot, muggy and I needed an ice cold beer to cool down. The place was packed but one particular guy caught my eye. He was at the bar with ladies all around him like flies. He was tall about 6-foot 2, black hair curling over his ears and down the back of his neck. He had emerald green eyes, a square jaw and a mischief smile. He was wearing faded Levis, a white t-shirt and a vintage black leather Harley-Davidson...

Chances AreChapter 5

Now if I had to award a second place prize for the next choicest skirt decorating the room, it would have to be a coin flip between Skulda the Valkyrie Warrior-Maiden or the Green Canary. The others? Who could tell really, under all of those cowls, hoods, masks and full bodysuits. They could have all been dolls or drudges ... who could tell? The Norse babe had it all; youth, a crisp Nordic face with big blue eyes, long braided blonde hair and more than a hint of well-nourished cleavage under...

Chances AreChapter 18

I woke up sometime in the middle of the night to a pitch black bedroom and at least two warm naked female bodies. There were no street lights on outside and very likely the entire house, along with most of the remaining bits of the Westside, were without electrical power. By feel, I determined that Denise (Firefly) was curled up on my right side, or least her massive tits were. A more slender but nearly equally petite figure dozed on my left, and a brief caress of her hair suggested that this...

Second Chances Chapter 7 Take Two

Wednesday, September 24, 1997 The alarm buzzer went off. The same confusion from yesterday washed over me. But this time I reminded myself I was not home in 2018, but in high school in 1997. I groaned, immediately regretting my decision on setting my clock for so early. I kicked my legs out of bed and turned off the alarm clock. I stood up and stretched my arms out, arching my back and extending my boobs forward. Yup. I'm still Christina. I flicked on the bedroom light and...

Second Chances Part 3

Second Chances By Alexander Kung Second Chances - Part 3 It had just started to rain as Rani and Jay started to walk home. The storm had shown up so suddenly that they had to cut their time in the tree house short. However nobody said how long they could take on the walk home. Since they were next door neighbors, they could get away with taking the scenic route. "So, Jay" Rani asked with a slight nudge "Do you have a girlfriend?" "Not really" Jay replied "I guess girls don't...

Chances AreChapter 11

Our very private chat now done, we headed on home with naught but a grocery stop at the A&P planned along the way. We agreed that mission number one for tomorrow morning was shopping to seriously upgrade our extremely limited wardrobe. I’d picked up a few basic items of casual clothing at a couple of local used resale shops in North and South Hell over the last couple of weeks, but I still had nothing that our old pal Rags would have been caught dead wearing. We now had the dough, so it...

Chances AreChapter 8

So, on that peaceful Saturday evening I was sitting up on the roof of Murder Mansion, alone and slowly enjoying four fingers of fine quality rye, enjoying the late-night spring breezes and the sounds of the city from off in the distance. Most of the flat roof was covered with a series of four long rectangular greenhouses, but everything inside had been dead for a full decade or more. Orchids most likely, from all of the dried petals on the floor. At the northwest corner of the roof, the...

Chances AreChapter 16

I muttered something about sandwiches and brewing up a pot of fresh coffee for everyone, back at my place, and a few of the heroines agreed to hang around there for a while. For now, at least, all of the fun, mayhem, and destruction seemed to be over. Most of the gals decided that they’d rather enjoy a long bath at home, along with a dozen or more stuff drinks instead, and most of them made their farewells. Even the horde of newsies and television camera crews started to look bored and began...

Second ChancesPart 4

Second Chances By Alexander Kung Second Chances - Part 4 The following morning, Kelly read the directions from Felicia's note to Jessie's apartment. As she walked along the sidewalk , she pondered through her mind what she would say to him. "Hi Jessie, I know I've been a bitch to you but...

Second Chances Chapter 3 Questions and Answers

Tuesday, September 23, 1997 Ron's truck stopped in the driveway. Metallica spilling out of the rust and pock-marks of the truck. I laughed to myself. Ron in 2018 is making enough money to drive a Lexus, or rather his wife is. His music taste has changed too. The music stopped as I walked out of the house and down the front porch. I opened the passenger door and threw my backpack onto the seat. Behind the steering wheel was a younger Ron. While Ron is older than I am by a few months, it's...

After the Energists Mikes and Tempes NIS WeekAfterword The Halloween Dance and Chapter Title Songs from Book 5

I’ve put together web-links for the Medway’s Halloween Dance during Mike’s and Tempe’s NIS Week, and all the chapter title songs that were in this 5th Book of The Energists series. I am not including a web-link to songs that I already included in the ‘concert playlist’ for the Halloween Dance in the chapter song list. If I used a special video of a song to help with writing this story, I have included it in these lists. I’ve also included any ‘extra songs’ in this book, such as: Runaround...

Second Thoughts and Last ChancesChapter 1

August?? 2004 "Tell me a little about yourself, Doctor." "Why?" I asked the Voice. It came, I supposed, from a face ... but it was a face I couldn't see. The bandages wrapped over my eyes and around the crown of my head kept me blind and in the dark. Was it a male or female voice? I couldn't be sure, but from the speech patterns and word choices I thought it was most likely male. Where the ideas about speech patterns and word choices came from were as much a mystery to me as the...

Second Chances Chapter 10 Escalation

Thursday, September 25, 1997 I woke up and looked at the clock. 4:59. A minute before the alarm goes off. I get out of bed and stretch. The alarm goes off and I stop it. It's a new day. I feel great. I have a spring in my step. Today is going to be another great day in the life of Christina Demarco. I walked over to my closet to pick out my clothes for today. The floral dress I found in my closet looks nice. I hadn't wore a dress to school yet. Let's try these heels too. I...

Mistress Cruel Love Chapter 4 Mein Herrin I Can Dance

As the corridor opened to the massive dance hall, she was assaulted by a swirl of colors and the thrum of pounding dance beats. She drank it all in, looking up at the caged, gyrating sissies and across the expanse of tables surrounding the dance floor. Heather's party had arrived not long ago. It was their first visit and there was still so much to see. The thrill of handing Darius off to a woman Heather didn't know caught her by surprise. Mike’s Bedroom, Bryanston, Ontario 6:25am, Monday, March 26, 1979 “Sheesh! Be quiet, and just enjoy,” Lynette whispered in my ear as I was stirred from my slumber in a most pleasant manner. Lynette, who fell asleep lying on top of me with none of her body touching my bunkbed’s mattress was now straddling my body and gently grinding her pubic bone into mine. As Lava-Lips’ sensitive clit was stimulated by her hunching action, her breathing became more and more labored in my ear. With her...

I said nothing about Jessica. I drove us all home. When Cindy and I arrived home, I decided I needed to shower if I was going to Jessica's house. "Hi Mom," I said passing her in the kitchen. Second Chances Chapter 6 Homework

My mom hugged me and congratulated me as I showed her my new licence. I looked at the licence in my hand. It was very simple. Very much not like the more complex security-enhanced licences in the future. This was just a laminated piece of paper with my picture and personal information on it. I looked at the picture of me. I'm not facing the camera because looking straight ahead was reserved for 21 plus year old drivers. I am looking kinda cute in this picture. Wait.. where did that...

Second Thoughts and Last ChancesChapter 3

The passing of time was no longer a blur to me, the way it had been just instants before. Time was moving, and fairly fast, but now it was more like a movie put on fast forward rather than the vapor trail it had been. And my memories were returning, no longer events to be observed, but actual pieces of myself and my life; just a trickle at first, but as one moment made itself known it was quickly followed by another, and another ... faster and faster and faster, until the trickle was a flow,...

The annual Empire Day party was in full swing. I had to keep it together because Merritt looked stunning, and pulling her into my cabin was all that was on my mind. However, Merritt wanted her chance to show me off to her sophisticated and influential friends and I didn't want to ruin her fun. The nightclub was packed. Debbie Simmons danced every dance, chatting with her partner and smiling at everyone. She was a delight to watch. I always hear the term "dirty old man" referring to a lot of older men that gawk at pretty young girls. Well, no one ever really mentions "dirty old woman" although there are a lot of us out there. I am one of them myself. Here is my dirty little tale. It was that one summer that changed everything. My husband had died earlier that year and I was left alone in our small country home. My daughter Caroline had just met a wonderful young man whom she would be marrying. Caroline had a very...

9:55 PM I have to find Amber. She couldn't have gone far. I only saw her at most five minutes ago. Maybe she went back to her table. I pushed Tim aside and I ran into the cafeteria. The dance was clearing out. About twenty people were left on the dance floor dancing to Donna Summer's "Last Dance". I checked Amber's table. Nobody was there. It was empty. No purses or other personal items. Maybe I can get a teacher to help. I scanned for the chaperones. Nowhere to be...

Eda, Sammy and I easily joined in with our instruments as Brad quickly had the stage curtains opened to kick off Medway’s Friday night Halloween Dance. Sinking into the warm water, she felt herself relax, and the abuses of her body slowly fade away as the water cleansed her. Reaching down, she ran her fingers through her openings, letting the water soothe and clean her all over. Thursday, October 2, 1997 I woke up to my alarm clock. I was still clutching the cordless phone. I had dried tears around my eyes. The events of last night came flooding back to me. It was such a good day until I screwed it up at the last possible moment. I slogged out of bed and forced myself to get ready for school. I pulled out a blue skirt and tossed it onto my bed. Two nights later I was mixing drinks behind the bar on the women's side when the door opened and she came in. It was a slow evening, and there weren't more than a half a dozen women in the bar at that point. She saw me, and came over to sit on a stool at the bar. She asked for a glass of wine, and I placed it in front of her, then leaned on the bar, in case she wanted to talk. She didn't say anything for a moment, so I decided to open the discussion. A couple of weeks passed and the next LGBT Dance was held. This was something of a misnomer since there were few other dances held at Anthony, and everyone was welcome. The LGBT student association put on the dances. Alcohol was sold at the dance, but only upperclassmen could buy it. Bec3 It Aint Over Til Its OverChapter 20 Dance Dance Wherever You May Be

I sat on my bed in the shortest pair of shorts I’ve ever worn and a cropped top that could have been a sock in its former life. It was not much more than a band around my chest with spaghetti straps to keep it up. Given that it was elasticized and fitted me pretty snugly, I wasn’t at all sure that the straps did anything. I guess if they weren’t there, the thing would probably crawl its way down my body until it was acting like a belt instead of a top. That would be embarrassing – even more...

“I get the idea, rather clearly, that most of your ‘relationships’ have been with other women. Same I think for nearly all of the other super-heroines that I’ve met so far. You’re all Sapphists ... and most of you nearly exclusively lesbian. Odds are that none of you, including yourself, would find any long term romance with a man, such as myself, satisfying or enduring. I’d just be an isolated, momentary, object of dalliance. In fact, chances are that none of your relationships with other...

Chances were, if I could help it ... that not a single bullet was going hurt me or any of my mortal friends! As for most of the three dozen or so assembled super-powered heroines, there wasn’t one of them really that was the least bit frightened by gaggles of gunsels spewing lead! Some, especially the mightiest ones on the front line, were innately bullet-proof and others had protective armor in their costumes or else were just too fast to be hit either in flight or on the run. A cameraman...

Second Chances Chapter 4 Going through the motions Part 1

I eventually found my English homework. I skimmed it to see what Christina wrote before I handed it in. It went completely over my head. Either she's a better student than me, or that is literally the same BS I wrote 20 years ago. I was able to follow along with the rest of the class and it triggered long forgotten memories. I was called on once. I BS'ed something about fake culture and Holden Caufield's pessimism. It wasn't hard honestly. After all, I came from a year that society had...
