My sister, Julie, and I are twins with me being the oldest by three minutes, I have tried to be the best brother she could ever have and as we got older, we got closer to each other. I always had her back and when she was at school, I would keep an eye on her to make sure she was protected from bullies and had someone to talk to when issues arose.

It was our senior year when Julie came to me and asked, “Josh,” she never called me Stretch, “can I talk to you about something personal?”
Understand we were twins and both eighteen at this time, so I wasn’t sure where this was going. I finally looked at her and smiled before I answered her, “Sure, Jules, what’s up?”
“Do you love me?”
Now, this caught me off guard, but I knew there was something behind this, as she had never looked so serious in her life.
“You know I do. You’re my sister and there is no other girl I love more.”
“I understand that but do you really love me?”
“Okay, Jules, what is this really about?”
She looked at her feet and then said, “I saw you today talking to a girl at school. Is she your girlfriend?”
I looked at her in shock. I am a jock, but I am not a star on the team, so it is hard for me to get a girlfriend. I could see how nervous she was and decided I better get to the bottom of this before she exploded.
"No, Jules, she’s not my girlfriend. You know the homecoming dance is coming up and I was just asking her to go with me as a friend. Her name is Sally James and she is in one of my classes. She turned me down since she already has a date for the dance. I don’t know who else to ask, so I guess I won’t go to the dance.”
“That doesn’t seem fair, big brother. Are you sure there is no one you want to go with who hasn’t got a date yet?”
“There is one girl I would like to ask, but I know her parents won’t let her date yet, so I’m not even going to ask her. I don’t want to put her on the spot.”
Julie looked at me, trying to figure out who I was talking about. I know she wasn’t ready for me to say that the girl couldn’t date yet, which meant she was younger than me.
“Do I know her?”
“Yes.”
“Come on, big bro, please, you’re killing me with the suspense. Who is she?”
“I hate to say.”
That answer got me smacked in the shoulder.
“Hey, watch it; that hurt,” I whined.
Julie just smiled and shook her head, knowing there was no way she hurt me.
“Okay, I give; I will tell you who she is.”
“Good, now spill it, or I will hit you again and not in your shoulder.”
I don’t know why but I covered myself with my hands in my crotch that caused her to erupt in laughter.
“You’re not right, big brother.”
I had to chuckle as well and then I decided I needed to come clean with her. “Okay, Jules, it’s you. You’re the girl I really want to take to the dance, but I can’t because Mom and Dad would never allow it. Even if you could go, there would be too many issues at school about it.”
She was just staring at me like she was seeing a ghost. “You want to date me? Why?”
“Oh, I don’t know, your sweet, kind, easy to talk to, and you are beautiful, Jules.”
“You, you think I’m beautiful?”
Nodding, I said, “I do. You are so amazing and sexy as hell. Any guy would be honored to walk into our dance with you on his arm and I’m not saying that because you are my sister.”
She had a tear in the corner of her eye and then she just launched herself at me, wrapping her arms around me as she said, “That is the sweetest thing any boy has ever said to me. Thank you, Josh.”
She stood on her tip-toes and kissed me on the lips. I wrapped her up and picked her up off the ground as I grabbed her ass to hold her close to me. She wrapped her legs around my waist and I moved us to the bed, where we continued to kiss each other and whisper our love for each other.
“I have wanted to do that for so long, Josh. Thank you for telling me how you feel about me, but you know Mom and Dad will never allow us to date each other, right? What are we going to do? Because I don’t want anyone else but you.”
She looked at me with such a yearning in her eyes that I felt myself shiver thinking about us really being together. I pulled her close to me and whispered in her ear, “What they don’t know won’t hurt them.”
I pulled back and looked her in the eyes and she seemed to understand my meaning there and then she just put her head on my chest and hugged me tightly.
We stayed like that for a couple of minutes and then we heard footsteps, so we parted and smiled at each other. Mom showed up and asked, “Is everything ok with you two?”
Julie answered first, “Yes, Mom, I just realized I have the best big brother ever, is all.”
Mom just shook her head and said, “It took you long enough. Now wash up; supper is ready.”
We both went to the bathroom and I let Jules go first while I waited outside and then went in to take care of business. When I came out, she was standing there and then leaned in and kissed me on the lips again and then said, “To be continued,” and then she ran into the kitchen to help set the table.
I decided not to go to the dance since I didn’t feel right asking anyone else, even though Jules came up with a couple of really good prospects for me to go with.
I finally told her why I didn’t accept her suggestions, “Jules, I want to thank you for your suggestions, but I don’t think I will go to the dance. I would feel that was cheating on my girl and I could never live with myself.”
She was just staring at me like I was a zombie and I could see a tear in her eye. I rubbed it away with my thumb as I asked her, “What’s wrong, Jules?”
She shook her head and looked at the floor, so I put my finger under her chin and raised her head to look at me. “Please, Jules, you can tell me anything. I love you, baby.”
She faintly smiled as she said, “It’s nothing, really. I just have wanted to hear those words from you for so long and now that you are telling me them, I feel guilty because you won’t go out on a date because of me. I don’t think that is fair to you at all, Josh, and I am upset with myself for being so happy. Is that alright?”
“I can understand that, Jules, but hey, if it makes you feel better, I will ask one of your suggestions tomorrow to go with me. But understand, I am only doing this for us, so Mom and Dad don’t suspect anything, not because I want to be with them more than you because I don’t.”
“Thank you, and I hope you can have some fun even though I want to be there with you as well.”
I kissed her forehead and went to my room to do my homework.
